Only I Know the Plot of the Anime World - Chapter 42
Eventually, the two sides agreed on the course of action.
Reiju couldn’t defy her father’s orders, so she wouldn’t assist. She had to rely on the Black Cat Pirates to save her brother. In exchange, she promised to repair Fang Bo’s goggles quickly.
For Germa, possessing top-tier technology was a trivial task. That very night, she delivered the newly repaired goggles to Fang Bo.
The new item could no longer be called goggles; it was more of a specialized detection device.
Name: Germa Detection Device IV
Quality: Fine
Type: Accessory
Durability: 50/50
Attribute Enhancement: Perception +2, Mental +1
Usage Requirement: Perception 14, Mental 12
Equipment Effect: Information Perception
Origin: Cyberpunk Edge Runners
Equipment Evaluation: It can tell you precisely when to run.
Information Perception (Active Skill): Consumes 2 points of mental energy to perceive the strengths and weaknesses of enemies.
The attribute enhancement had slightly improved, and even the active skill description had changed. The equipment evaluation was quite interesting.
Out of curiosity, Fang Bo used Information Perception on the woman before him, and the data he received was entirely different from before.
[Vinsmoke Reiju (Poison Pink)]
[Attack Tendency: High]
[Attribute Tendency: Mental]
[Special Traits: Exoskeleton, Poison Absorption]
[Threat Assessment: Extremely Dangerous]
The first line showed the character’s name and title, a basic requirement even police goggles could meet.
Attack tendency likely indicated the target’s potential aggression. Since Reiju’s brother’s safety was not yet secured, she might attack at any time, and if the mission failed, they’d instantly become enemies. Thus, her attack tendency was shown as “High.”
Attribute tendency refers to the target’s most outstanding attribute. While it didn’t show specific values, it indicated what type of strong opponent they were.
Clearly, pirate technology differed significantly from cyberpunk technology. The former relied more on “intuition,” much like how strong individuals used Haki to sense their opponent’s strength.
There was no need for many numbers; a simple perception could tell whether an opponent was strong.
Besides these changes, the most significant upgrade was in the Special Traits and Threat Assessment sections.
Threat assessment was easy to understand. It compared the user’s aura to the enemy’s to see if they were a match, giving the user an idea of their enemy’s strength.
The previous feature was the Special Traits section. The previous goggles were only displayed, but the upgrade allowed detailed information queries.
Exoskeleton: Modified by “Lineage Factor,” granting superhuman physical attributes. Constitution +5, Defense doubled.
Poison Absorption: Can freely manipulate toxins, releasing or absorbing them, with a unique poison resistance.
These were excellent traits, making Reiju a tough and resilient fighter, an expert in tormenting enemies.
Fang Bo wouldn’t have wanted to confront such a powerful adversary if it could have been avoided. The Grand Line and the Four Seas were entirely different worlds, incomparable.
“Thank you.” He nodded at her, watching the massive sea fortress slowly depart.
Fang Bo knew he’d soon face the pursuit of Germa 66, a once-dominant force in the North Blue.
Reiju’s condition was to escort her brother to a specified sea area where she had arranged for his escape.
Before that, they had about two days’ journey, and whether they could reach the destination safely depended on the Black Cat Pirates’ strength.
“Hurry, everyone on board,” Fang Bo commanded.
Reiju sent 18 genetically modified soldiers to silence the crew as a gift of thanks to the Black Cat Pirates.
These soldiers were highly skilled, with attributes slightly inferior to elite pirates, but they were a formidable force.
Captain Zan Gao, happy with the gift, accepted it without hesitation. The hypnotist captain particularly liked these loyal, robot-like warriors.
Fang Bo, twirling his hypnosis ring, muttered, “Once the hidden mission is over, we can deal with that pirate admiral. Then the East Blue will belong to the Black Cat Pirates.”
With such a large force, even with many naval reincarnators, Fang Bo was confident he could eliminate them individually.
It wasn’t just about strength anymore. The disparity in their forces was too vast, and one or two individuals couldn’t change the outcome.
“I hope Ryuno doesn’t disappoint me.”
Late at night, Fang Bo finally got a good night’s sleep.
But a heavily armed ship suddenly appeared on the horizon the following day.
“Enemies are here,” Fang Bo thought, ordering everyone to prepare for battle.
The enemy ship moved quickly, reaching the Black Cat Pirates’ ship, Braku, before the pirates gathered on deck.
Three burly soldiers jumped over, led by a man whose intimidating presence made Captain Zan Gao instinctively hold his breath.
Such a strong aura had only been felt by Captain Kuro. No wonder these Germa soldiers were so terrifying.
“Wait, the other soldiers aren’t this scary,” Fang Bo thought, scanning the area, realizing only the leading man was special.
Using Information Perception, his guess was confirmed.
[Gary (Cyborg II Special Unit)]
[Attack Tendency: High]
[Attribute Tendency: Strength, Agility]
[Special Traits: Gene Modification]
[Threat Assessment: Extremely Dangerous]
Indeed, this guy’s threat level was high. Fang Bo needed to assess it further.
The muscular man stood a short distance away, arms crossed, speaking in a robotic, emotionless voice, “Hand over the Germa prince, and you will be handsomely rewarded.”
Other soldiers brought three large sacks filled with glittering gold.
This was a reward from Germa, as finding Sanji was a long-standing mission backed by the World Government.
Looking through the sacks of gold, Fang Bo clapped his hands, “Impressive generosity, Germa. Bring our prince here.”
The disheveled Sanji was soon brought to the deck at the vice-captain’s command.
Seeing him, the cyborg soldiers, including Gary, knelt in respect.
Despite his low status within the family, Sanji was still a Vinsmoke, revered by the brainwashed soldiers as their master.
Even without control, these soldiers couldn’t kill a Vinsmoke.
This gave Fang Bo room for maneuver.
“Damn it!” Sanji roared, freeing himself from his chains and kicking Gary.
Sanji was furious, hating everything about his family, so he teamed up with the scoundrel Jason.
Initially, Sanji didn’t want to fight, but learning about his sister’s deal with Fang Bo changed his mind.
Sanji couldn’t ignore Reiju, who was the kindest person to him. Fang Bo manipulated him by suggesting that Reiju would return and face their father’s punishment. Sanji was overwhelmed and agreed to fight.
Several successive attacks forced Gary to retreat, seeming to dominate but exposing their strength difference.
Gary endured Sanji’s kicks, taking a few steps back to dissipate the force, indicating the attacks were barely adequate.
Moreover, Gary’s strengths were in power and agility, not defense, highlighting his formidable capabilities.
“Sanji, you shouldn’t have attacked me,” Gary said, a manic gleam in his eye.
He couldn’t kill a Vinsmoke, but he could break their limbs.
Gary’s orders were to bring Sanji back, dealing with any resistance, even from the prince himself.
Charging at Sanji, Gary’s punch sent him flying, nearly knocking him unconscious.
“Huh?” Gary wondered, realizing Sanji was more substantial than expected. This punch should have hindered him.
No matter if one punch didn’t work, a second would.
Bang!
As a gunshot rang out, Gary felt pain in his chest, blinded by the searing white light.
A holy bullet saved Sanji, marking the start of the battle.
In the distance, pirates climbed ropes to the enemy ship, clashing in fierce combat.
Captain Zan Gao led the charge, aiming to finish the enemy quickly.
His hypnosis was perfect for incapacitating enemies, ideal for this outnumbered assault.
As for the powerful Gary, someone else would have to handle him.
“Paul!”
The loyal subordinate drew his cursed blade, ready to strike, but was intercepted by two lesser cyborgs.
“Such a hassle,” Fang Bo summoned the giants, not wanting to face Gary’s attacks personally.
The remaining elite soldier could be dealt with by Sam and Butch, those useless fools.
