Only I Know the Plot of the Anime World - Chapter 53
With the two strongest combatants down, the atmosphere became quite tense.
Earlier, everyone was confident of their victory, even mocking the opposition in their minds.
But now, no one dared to claim certain victory.
“Cough, cough,” Vincenzo staggered over, speaking seriously to Fang Bo. “Aren’t you going to fight?”
“Me?” Fang Bo shrugged helplessly and explained honestly, “Honestly, I’m not well-suited for arena battles.”
The attacks of the Three Giant Brothers were too simplistic and required a specific environment to be effective.
Summoning them from a distance, only for the enemy to foolishly charge into the crowd, was unlikely.
Without his summons, all Fang Bo could do was shoot.
A bullet every ten seconds felt like a joke in a fast-paced arena.
If he did go in, he’d likely be on the defensive, using his high health to seek opportunities to counterattack.
If he didn’t encounter a top assassin, he might manage to take down one or two reincarnators.
Fang Bo’s words were sincere, without a hint of deception, but Vincenzo didn’t believe him.
Seeing Vincenzo leave angrily, Fang Bo lamented the distrust, thinking sincere people like him were rare.
Compared to surprise encounters, Fang Bo disliked these arena battles. He was confident he could take down three or four enemies alone if it were urban warfare.
“Let me try,” Ryuno said, standing up and walking towards the center.
Her Shikigami could last 60 minutes, enough for the arena battle.
Unlike Fang Bo’s giants, whose duration she estimated to be less than 10 minutes.
One was an item-carried ability, the other a skill upgraded with plot points, making them incomparable.
In reality, Fang Bo wasn’t a full-fledged summoner; he was more like a half-baked gunslinger with summoning abilities.
He just had an excessively high spirit attribute.
He knew his limitations, but others didn’t see it that way.
Seeing Jason the Brute not entering the fray, Vincenzo stood up, and others’ expressions darkened.
As they prepared to speak, the arena suddenly lit up with two blue lights.
Shikigami Summon: Aka Tongue!
Shikigami Summon: War God Bird!
Seeing the two summoned creatures beside her, everyone realized there was another strong player in their team.
“Hmph, we’ll see after the fight,” someone muttered stubbornly.
But the next fight lasted only thirty seconds, with the War God Bird quickly taking down the opponent with its umbrella sword.
“Seven more,” Ryuno said calmly, standing in the center, looking towards the marine faction.
“Let’s speed this up. My summons last a long time.”
After waiting a few minutes, the Marines realized she was right and abandoned waiting for her summons to disappear.
The next opponent was a gunslinger, less impressive than Vincenzo but proficient in professional skills and knowing the importance of targeting the summoner.
However, the onmyoji lady gave no chance.
Aka Tongue began pounding the drums, lightning bolts falling like a goddess scattering flowers. The poor guy didn’t even get to the fire before being thrown out by the combined forces of the two Shikigami.
Two kills in a row!
The marine faction had six spots left.
“Damn, where did she come from?!” Randy was furious.
He wanted to fight, but as a tank, he was more suited to taking damage than dueling.
If he entered, he’d be skewered by the fast-moving Shikigami before reaching the opponent.
Understanding the onmyoji’s power made Randy anxious.
He thought they had the advantage, only to be harshly corrected by reality.
“If we hadn’t provoked the World Government, if Bun and Ice Lady were still here, we wouldn’t be bullied by a mere summoner.”
The Sound Nest team paid a heavy price to acquire the Six Powers; even Randy, the beneficiary, felt it was unfair.
A so-called “super rookie” led them to abandon the story world’s rewards, search the world for suitable speed-based skills, and cause three teammates to die.
It made him feel extremely frustrated.
The feeling of being undervalued was hard for the prideful tank to bear. He believed he should be the team’s core.
Suddenly, the scene of the rampaging figure flashed in his mind.
Remembering that berserk image, Randy shuddered, and his anger vanished.
“Forget it, I’m still alive.”
As he struggled internally, the onmyoji lady defeated two more people. Aka Tongue was knocked out, and War God Bird seemed heavily injured.
However, she had taken down four people, earning respect from everyone present.
The marine faction had four spots left. Seeing the situation, Randy finally stepped forward with his large shield.
“You should step down, woman.”
Ryuno ignored him, waiting for the countdown to end.
Using drugs in the arena was prohibited, leaving her in a weakened state and lowering her chances of victory.
Even so, she aimed to lower the enemy’s health, easing the pressure on the next fighter.
The fight began quickly. Randy charged like a wild rhino, heading straight for her.
War God Bird followed, constantly attacking with its umbrella sword, while Ryuno used talismans to bombard him.
By the time Randy crashed into her, he had lost a third of his health.
Randy’s durability was high; others would have been near death.
“I concede.” Ryuno forfeited, using the protection mechanism to avoid Randy’s shield.
Smiling at his furious reaction, she walked back to her team calmly.
“Impressive~” She gave her companions a playful smile full of pride.
Following this guy around, she felt like a leg attachment, completing many tasks but feeling little accomplishment.
Today, the onmyoji lady finally felt triumphant.
“Impressive.” Fang Bo gave her a thumbs-up, not stingy with praise.
Compliments were free; if others could carry him, he’d praise them until nightfall.
Soon, a gunslinger from the pirate faction stepped up.
With his shooting skills, he whittled down Randy’s remaining health.
This crushed the marine faction’s hopes.
The remaining three fighters were mediocre, easily defeated without Fang Bo needing to step in.
The arena battle ended with the pirate faction victorious.
When Olsen regained consciousness, he didn’t seem too upset.
Completing the Six Powers’ hidden task and the rewards he received compensated for the losses. Plus, he had obtained the fusion materials.
Failing to get Silent Step was regretful; he loved silently approaching enemies.
While others were dejected, Olsen walked towards the pirate faction.
Ignoring the Silver Fox team’s smug looks, Olsen approached Fang Bo and asked, “Did you get Kuro’s Silent Step?”
“Is this a business deal?”
Fang Bo took out the reward from his inventory and showed the answer.
Seeing the desired item, Olsen said, “Sell it to me. The price won’t disappoint.”
Silent Step wasn’t a high-level skill, not as good as the Six Powers’ Quick Movement or the shadowy movement technique.
Selling it to the space might fetch 800-1000 plot points.
But to a man like Olsen, the price could be higher.
Fang Bo immediately refused despite many thoughts, “You’re my enemy. Why would I give my enemy good things?”
“2000 plot points.” The generous offer almost made Fang Bo lose composure, but resisted the temptation.
“.It’s a matter of principle. I won’t aid my enemy. You underestimate me.”
Ignoring his words, Olsen offered his final price, “2000 plot points plus a bottle of Kusanagi’s Blood. Take it or leave it.”
“Haha, deal.”
Amidst disdainful looks, Fang Bo completed the transaction happily.
No one should refuse money for pride, right?
As for aiding the enemy, who knew if Olsen would even be a match next time?
For Fang Bo, plot points were more valuable.
Kusanagi’s Blood: Blood from the Three Sacred Treasures family. Injecting it may grant fire manipulation abilities.
“So it’s just Kusanagi’s Blood, not Kusanagi Kyo’s Blood,” Fang Bo sighed but wasn’t too bothered.
Olsen wouldn’t trade all his good items, even if he needed Silent Step.
Injecting Kusanagi’s Blood only granted ordinary fire manipulation, while Kusanagi Kyo had an Unextinguishable Red Flame, capable of harming gods.
“By the way,” Olsen asked before leaving, “did you get Owl’s invitation?”
“What invitation?” Fang Bo played dumb.
“Never mind.”
Giving him a deep look, the marine faction reincarnators returned to space.
Just before disappearing, Randy suddenly gave a mocking smile.
“By the way, we left a parting gift. Hope you enjoy it.”
As he finished, a terrifying killing intent enveloped everyone.
