Only I Know the Plot of the Anime World - Chapter 58
“Follow me.”
Shikigami led them through the winding tunnels using her natural yokai instincts, always finding the right path.
No matter how human-like she appeared, she couldn’t change her yokai nature. At her core, she was an evil entity, just like Jorogumo, not accepted by the world.
Luckily, she had met an exceptional onmyoji, and Shikigami was willing to fight alongside her.
“Ryu, I’ve been very happy since we met,” Shikigami suddenly whispered.
She wanted to express her feelings but noticed that the two onmyoji looked strange.
“Ahem, let’s focus on the battle first,” Ryuuno said, wiping the sweat from her forehead, stopping Shikigami from jinxing them further.
If she said more, it felt like something terrible would happen.
“…Let’s keep moving.” Fang Bo wondered if it was his imagination, but it seemed like the shikigami became more animated in the onmyoji world.
It was as if the puppet had indeed been given life.
In the One Piece world, Shikigami rarely spoke; if she did, it was mostly about tasks and combat, not expressing emotions.
Fang Bo suspected that the space might be behind this or that there might be some unknown restrictions in “shikigami summoning.”
His questions might only be answered by seasoned summoners.
Just like how entering other worlds blurred the reincarnators’ identities and appearances, the shikigami summoned to other worlds were also blurred in perception.
To Shikigami, the two beside her were onmyoji, and she had always been fighting in this world.
The summoning skill didn’t create a sense of disconnection from the original world. If the contract were broken, the yokai would continue as before.
This also protected the reincarnation space. Too many natives recognising the “space” would cause unnecessary trouble.
Some powerful and wise plot characters might seek to enter the space, disrupting the trajectory of fate.
Due to his limited experience, Fang Bo didn’t recognise this issue. He was just thinking about how to interact with Jorogumo if he captured her.
Recalling her beautiful upper body, he had a bold idea.
“It’s just ahead.” Shikigami’s voice interrupted Fang Bo’s thoughts.
They followed the tunnel to a large cave filled with webs, where a two-meter-tall yokai rested, eyes closed.
The sweet-looking yokai was their primary target, Jorogumo. From her appearance, it was no wonder men went crazy for her.
Gazing at her stunning face, Fang Bo’s idea grew more robust.
“Her lower half isn’t great, but the upper half is fine. I wonder if she’d be willing.”
After capturing her, he would find a chance to try or always be curious.
The two reincarnators exchanged a glance. Fang Bo lowered himself and slowly moved toward the spider.
At this point, he could only hope his perception surpassed the yokai’s; otherwise, they’d have to fight head-on.
After ten minutes of crawling, Fang Bo finally reached the top of the cave.
Sneaking closer wasn’t feasible. The best way to touch her was to leap from above.
Staring at the beautiful spider below, he was about to move when a chilling sensation washed over him.
Looking down, he saw a web strand wrapped around his ankle.
Despite his quick reflexes and gear activating, the strength difference was too significant. Fang Bo was pulled down to Jorogumo below.
Falling onto the soft web, he wasn’t hurt, but the eight sharp green legs around him brought a strong sense of dread.
Worse, sticky webs covered him, making it impossible to move.
Luckily, Jorogumo didn’t attack immediately. She was more curious about why a man was in her lair.
“Bold of you, little onmyoji,” Jorogumo chuckled, exuding mature charm.
If not for the bones littering the ground, one might mistake her for a kind yokai.
Looking at her terrifying spider body, Fang Bo asked a question he had long wondered.
“Do you brush the fangs of the spider head below?”
“Huh?”
Deteriorate!
As 3 points of his mental energy dissipated, the webs binding him burst into flames, turning to ash.
Before Jorogumo could react, Fang Bo touched one of her long, black legs.
[Deteriorate skill triggered, target affected by tendon severance, movement speed decreased by 80%, the effect lasts 10 seconds.]
“Attack!”
At his command, a talisman struck Jorogumo’s face.
Shikigami appeared, slicing seven or eight wounds on her with the umbrella sword.
“Bastard!” Jorogumo screamed, her shrill voice echoing as countless spiders scurried from all directions.
In ten seconds, they would be swarmed. They had to reduce her health to below 20% before then.
“Don’t let up.” Ryuuno threw another talisman, commanding Akasha to drum, summoning lightning.
Despite this, Jorogumo fiercely counterattacked.
“I’ll see you all dead today,” she snarled, her voice filled with madness.
Tiny spiders formed from her demon energy, rushing at them.
Soul Devouring Bite!
Ryuuno felt a sharp pain in her chest, falling into severe dizziness.
[You are attacked by Soul Devouring Bite, taking 32 points of bite damage]
[Skill effect triggered; you are stunned for 5 seconds]
“Damn it.” She couldn’t move, but her mind was clear.
This was a crucial moment. Five seconds felt like an eternity and could determine the mission’s outcome.
She feared what he would face, especially with Fang Bo on the web.
Bang!
As she panicked, a familiar gunshot rang in her ears.
Though she couldn’t see, Ryuuno recognised the Dragoon’s roar.
“He’s okay!”
Indeed, Fang Bo was fine, and his solid mental attributes were immune to the stun effect.
Jorogumo’s body stiffened from his skill, so he fired a piercing shot.
That wasn’t all. In the dim cave, three giants appeared, devouring Jorogumo’s legs like crazed fiends.
The scene was so shocking that Ryuuno couldn’t tell who the real monster was.
Fang Bo noticed Jorogumo’s weakness: close combat.
Despite her sharp leg blades, she couldn’t use them effectively. She could only spray webs at the giants.
“Average damage output, but strong control abilities.”
Touching her head, Fang Bo’s eyes gleamed, and Deteriorate activated again.
[Deteriorate skill triggered, target affected by the burn, taking 5 points of fire damage per second; the effect lasts 10 seconds.]
With the three giants, they were all engulfed in flames.
This was the power of his upgraded skill. Combined with his summons, the enemy was constantly under debilitating effects.
With Shikigami and Ryuuno’s attacks, Jorogumo’s health was low. Fang Bo feared killing her with his next shot.
As his gun reloaded, he aimed for a less vital spot and fired.
It wasn’t a critical hit, but the damage was enough for the contract scroll.
“No!!!” Sensing something, Jorogumo thrashed wildly, summoning more spiders.
If she released her ultimate skill, they’d all be wiped out. But before she could, Fang Bo tore the contract scroll.
[You are using the Blood Oath Contract Scroll on SR Yokai Jorogumo!]
[Contract forming, please wait]
As the yokai quieted, he sighed in relief, and Ryuuno awakened from her stun.
Seeing the frozen spiders outside, she and Shikigami joined Fang Bo, waiting for the contract to be finalised.
“We did it,” she smiled weakly.
Jorogumo’s close combat was weak, but her mid-range attacks were terrifying.
Had they been stunned, those leg blades would’ve killed Fang Bo before he could act.
Fortunately, that didn’t happen. It was a dangerous but successful fight.
Circling Jorogumo, Ryuuno marvelled, “Interesting, she’s a completely different type of shikigami from Shikigami.”
Fang Bo smiled, about to speak, when a light emerged from Jorogumo.
[You have successfully contracted with Jorogumo]
[You have learned the C-level skill Shikigami Summon]
