Only I Know the Plot of the Anime World - Chapter 9
Unexpectedly getting a treasure chest, Shaun was instantly invigorated.
Ignoring the fat guy’s jealous glare, he bent down to pick it up and opened it right then and there.
If it had been when they first entered the plot world, Shaun might have shared his loot, understanding that no material possession was more important than his life.
But with the mission ending, he didn’t need to worry about others’ opinions.
If he got something good, it would only enhance his standing in their eyes, making future cooperation more likely.
“Hope my luck is good,” Shaun thought.
The smile on Shaun’s face was incredibly irritating to the fat guy.
Wildly, when Shaun pulled out a long blade, the fat guy’s jealousy flared uncontrollably.
You are opening a plot treasure chest (Green)
You received 20 plot points.
You received Hal’s Bone Chopper
Name: Hal’s Bone Chopper
Grade: Excellent
Category: Weapon
Attack Power: 1-3
Durability: 30/30
Attribute Boost: Strength +2, Spirit -1
Usage Condition: Strength 8, Basic Melee Lv1
Equipment Effect: Spirit Frenzy
Origin: Attack on Titan
Equipment Evaluation: Use caution if you don’t want to become a madman.
Spirit Frenzy (Active Skill): Once activated, it indiscriminately attacks all nearby creatures, increasing attack power by 20% for 10 seconds.
The garrison regiment’s standard weapon had a measly attack power of 1-1, relying mainly on Shaun’s strength and fire control ability for damage.
Now, with this oddly-shaped Bone Chopper, his basic attacks would drastically increase, allowing him to slay Titans without relying on his innate ability.
Shaun, overjoyed, overlooked the danger behind him.
Crouched in a secluded corner, he was unaware of his companions, although no Titans were around.
As for the guide, he wasn’t a dedicated healer and wouldn’t babysit them 24/7.
With the plot mission nearing its end, Taige wanted to see if he could get some benefits like taking a few 3D Maneuver Gear sets out.
This inadvertently fueled the attacker’s evil thoughts.
Shaun, despite his savvy, underestimated human nature’s darker side.
People blinded by jealousy can do anything.
“Die!!!”
Realizing something was wrong, the blade had already slashed his back, leaving a deep, bone-exposing wound.
Shaun’s perception attribute was weak, and he only sensed danger when the blade was upon him.
However, his agility was quite good; even under sudden attack, he could quickly retaliate.
There was no time to defend, so he opted for a counterattack, hoping to force the cowardly fat guy back.
Yet again, he miscalculated.
Shaun underestimated his enemy’s jealousy and didn’t anticipate the effectiveness of the fat guy’s defensive talent.
Digital Battle Report activated. You can choose the timing and detail level of the display as needed!
The enemy’s slash caused eight damage, inducing a 10-second bleeding status, losing one health every 2 seconds.
Your counterattack dealt 12 damage. The enemy’s trait “Stubborn” activated, passively resisting ten physical damage.
You ultimately inflicted two cutting damage.
“Resisted 10 damage?!” Shaun couldn’t believe his eyes.
He knew the fat guy was a tank with damage-reduction skills but didn’t expect it to be this extreme.
While ineffective against Titan bites, it was invincible against reincarnators.
Even when Shaun shot his waist grappling hook, piercing the fat guy’s shoulder, the enemy swung his blade nonchalantly.
“I’ll show you! You think you’re so great!”
Faced with the madman-like enemy, Shaun gritted his teeth and activated the equipment skill “Spirit Frenzy,” which led to a wild, uncoordinated blade clash.
Under these circumstances, he couldn’t outfight a reincarnator with a tank talent.
With half his health left, the fat guy finally cut Shaun down.
Finally venting his anger, the fat guy grabbed Shaun’s hair, pressed the blade to his throat, and spoke with undisguised mockery.
“Give me one reason not to kill you, pretty boy.”
With his life in the fat guy’s hands, Shaun couldn’t stay tough. He’d forgotten this was a peaceful world.
Even if the fat guy killed him, he’d gain nothing.
Of course, saying this was easier than maintaining composure under threat.
Shaun was young but already a leader in a big company, skilled in managing subordinates but not so composed when facing death.
First, he traded his weapon. Noticing the fat guy’s gaze, he began bargaining.
“I’ve given you my stuff. What if you kill me anyway?”
“Hey.” The fat guy slapped him disdainfully. “Do I look like someone who breaks promises?”
Yes, very much so.
But Shaun didn’t dare voice that thought. He didn’t want to die; his future was bright in reality, and in the Reincarnation Space, he had strong talents.
If he survived, he’d thrive, and a minor loss didn’t matter.
Under the fat guy’s coercion, Shaun reluctantly handed over his plot points, leaving him with no bargaining chips.
Standing up, a sinister smile spread across the fat guy’s face. “Let me guess, you think your talent’s so great, you’ll get strong quickly.”
Shaun’s thoughts were spot on, but he wouldn’t admit it.
“I’ve given you everything. I’m no threat to you now.” Shaun tried to regain his confident demeanor. “Besides, our skills complement each other. If we team up, we could achieve great things.”
Seeing the fat guy waver, Shaun’s mind raced with persuasive arguments, appearing confident as if he was still a negotiating leader.
Slash!
A familiar blade flashed, and Shaun stared down in shock, trying to cover his neck wound.
“You know, I hate that self-righteous attitude,” the fat guy said, revealing his reason for the kill.
On the cold ground, the genius newcomer Shaun lost his life.
