Reborn with Steve Stand - Chapter 47
Fang Mo marveled as the space materialized in his mind, leaving him amazed. It was the first time he encountered a mod that directly influenced his own body, and it left him speechless.
Upon further reflection, it started to make sense. His body had been digitized, so being able to load mods that affected him, like Steve, was probably a normal occurrence. Fang Mo even entertained the thought of future mods that could customize his appearance or abilities. Could he become a shape-shifter like Mystique? But that was a tale for another time.
For now, what intrigued Fang Mo the most was the space that had manifested in his mind. Unlike Steve’s classic game-style backpack with its small squares, this space resembled the storages described in novels.
However, there was a problem. Fang Mo couldn’t fathom how to store items in it. After departing from Loki’s dungeon, he hurried back to his temporary residence in the palace. There, he picked up a candlestick from the bedside and attempted to place it in the storage space. But no matter how long he stared at it, the candlestick refused to enter.
Confusion crept over Fang Mo. “Could it be that my focus is lacking?” he pondered, furrowing his brow. Drawing from his extensive knowledge of fantasy and cultivation novels, he recalled instances where characters concentrated their consciousness on an item, envisioning it being stored in a spatial container.
With this in mind, Fang Mo cautiously pressed the candlestick against his forehead, intensifying his concentration. “Come on, go in quickly…” he whispered.
To his astonishment, his grip loosened, and the candlestick effortlessly slid halfway into his head.
“Oh…” Fang Mo found himself in an awkward position. Cross-legged on the bed, he held the base of the candlestick with both hands, while the upper half disappeared into the center of his forehead, as if partaking in a peculiar magical act. Strangely, he felt no obstruction, as if the candlestick hadn’t entered his head at all.
“Does it work like this?” Fang Mo marveled at the peculiar sight.
Despite the strangeness of the situation, Fang Mo remained unperturbed, considering his digitized body. In fact, he found it fascinating. “I can even fit something this large inside. My imagination truly knows no limits.”
With a bit of effort, he slid the entire candlestick into his head, and instantly, a mental image of the candlestick appeared in his consciousness.
To retrieve it, all he had to do was touch his forehead. He swiftly grasped the handle, pulled, and the complete candlestick reappeared in his hand.
With great excitement, Fang Mo eagerly toyed with this newfound ability as if he had stumbled upon something extraordinary.
Soon, he comprehended the underlying principle.
First and foremost, accessing the storage space didn’t require touching his forehead. Fang Mo discovered that whenever something made contact with his body and he desired to store it, it would automatically be transferred to the storage space.
Furthermore, he realized that he could retrieve items from any part of his body, be it the palm, chest, back, crotch, or anywhere else. There was no need to always insert them through his forehead, which would seem rather foolish.
The storage space, while not extensive, measured about two square meters, proving to be sufficient for Fang Mo’s needs.
After dedicating some time to organizing his belongings and stowing them in the storage space, Fang Mo shifted his focus to his primary task: opening the Lucky Cubes.
For Fang Mo, Asgard proved to be a truly fortuitous place.
After all, it offered him numerous mods.
In the Treasury alone, he unlocked Thermal Expansion, 2 Tinker’s Construct Add-ons from the Underground Tomb, Light Bridge from Digging the Bifrost Bridge, Grimoire of Gaia from the Forest, Pam’s HarvestCraft Add-on Beverages accidentally triggered at the banquet, and the extra-large backpack given by Loki.
In just a few days, Fang Mo had unlocked a total of seven mods in Asgard.
Though some mods, like Thermal Expansion and Add-on Beverages, eluded Fang Mo’s comprehension, they still provided him with Lucky Cubes.
After patiently waiting for a few days, most of these mods had finished downloading.
Now, Steve’s backpack contained seven Lucky Cubes.
Considering his previous mishap when unlocking the Tinker’s Construct TAIGA Add-on Alloy mod on Earth and inadvertently revealing a worthless ore magnet in front of Nick Fury, Fang Mo felt the need to exercise caution this time.
Following that decision, he took a refreshing bath, lit some incense, changed into new clothes from Asgard, and meticulously surveyed his surroundings once again to ensure no suspicious individuals were lurking.
With everything in order, Fang Mo instructed Steve to retrieve the Lucky Cubes.
“Seven consecutive draws… how luxurious,” Fang Mo murmured, his excitement mounting as he beheld the seven Lucky Cubes in Steve’s inventory.
Even if his luck wasn’t exceptional, this streak of seven draws should yield some form of guaranteed reward, just like in most gacha games, right?
With that thought in mind, Fang Mo took a deep breath.
He directly commanded Steve to open the first Lucky Cube.
In the next instant, a radiant light erupted, and a black-purple ring materialized in Steve’s hand.
“What the fuck?!” Fang Mo exclaimed in disbelief.
