Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 10
Just a few steps into their walk, Tang An stopped again.
“Auntie, are there people named Zoro, Nami, or Usopp in your village?”
Tang An didn’t mention Sanji’s name because Sanji could be anywhere with Red-Leg Zeff, either on a remote island or at the floating restaurant.
“I haven’t heard of anyone named Zoro or Nami, but we do have an Usopp here. However, he’s just a child who loves to lie ever since his mother passed away.”
“Auntie, I was once saved by Yasopp. Could you tell me where Usopp lives? I promised Yasopp that if I had the chance, I would visit him someday.”
Tang An smiled warmly, feeling pleasantly surprised.
“So you know Usopp because of Yasopp, that man who abandoned his wife and child! Follow this path, and at the third fork, you’ll see a small path leading up the hill. Walk for about five minutes, and you’ll find a house.”
“Thank you, auntie.”
Tang An thanked her again and then turned to leave.
Following the auntie’s directions, Tang An reached the third fork and took the path up the hill. After about five minutes, he saw a very rundown house that exuded an aura of poverty.
Knock, knock!
Tang An knocked on the door directly.
“Who are you?”
The shaky door opened, and a six or seven-year-old boy poked his head out, his long nose immediately recognizable.
“Is your name Usopp? Is your father Yasopp?”
Tang An smiled, even though he had already guessed this was Usopp, he wanted to be sure.
“How do you know my father?”
Usopp’s eyes lit up.
Instead of an answer, Usopp was met with the barrel of a gun. Blood and brain matter splattered as Usopp’s eyes filled with terror.
“Let’s go!”
Tang An hadn’t expected it to be this easy. Without looking back at Usopp’s body, he turned and started walking away. Checking the interface, it confirmed that he had killed the important character, Usopp.
Behind him, Rafael shuddered, staring at the bloody scene inside the house. He couldn’t understand why Tang An did what he did. They were supposed to know each other’s fathers, but after just a few words, Tang An had blown the kid’s head off.
Passing the vegetable garden again, the woman was wiping her sweat. Seeing Tang An and Rafael returning so quickly, she was surprised.
“Didn’t take long. Wasn’t Usopp home?”
“I’ve seen him already. Thanks for the directions, auntie.”
Tang An smiled as he spoke, then retraced his steps back to the shore.
“How strange,” the woman muttered, watching them leave before returning to her work.
Soon after, the pirate ship set sail again. From arriving on the island to dealing with Usopp and leaving, it hadn’t even taken an hour. The whole process was smooth and efficient, like a ruthless, emotionless machine.
“Successfully killed the important character, Usopp, from the world of One Piece. You are awarded three dice rolls and one luck point.”
Looking at the description, which was identical to the one he saw after killing Portgas D. Ace, except for the name change, Tang An began rolling the dice again.
The dice landed on three. The model airplane moved forward three spaces with a roar. Tang An didn’t use his luck point.
As the familiar light faded, an item appeared before him along with a description.
“Expired Lao Gan Ma chili sauce.”
“Description: Lao Gan Ma is made from peanuts, chili, Sichuan peppercorns, rapeseed oil, garlic…”
Tang An’s face turned pale. Drawing an expired bottle of Lao Gan Ma was one thing, but pulling out an expired one?
Sigh…
His heavy breathing gradually calmed. He was becoming used to this.
On his second roll, the dice landed on four, and the airplane moved four spaces.
Tang An frowned but still didn’t use his luck point.
The familiar light faded again, and Tang An’s breathing quickened.
“Sunflower Manual.”
“Description: To practice this divine skill, one must first castrate oneself… can be read without obstacles in any world.”
Damn it.
Tang An couldn’t hold back his curse.
Moving on to the next roll, the dice landed on five, and the airplane moved forward.
“Do you want to use a luck point?”
With the luck point used, the light flickered.
Tang An’s previously pale face returned to normal, now showing a hint of excitement.
“One of the Six Powers: Shave.”
“Description: One of the Six Powers in One Piece, allowing the user to move at high speed by kicking off the ground ten times in 0.36 seconds, producing an explosive reaction force.”
“Do you want to learn?”
“Yes, learn!”
Another skill-type reward, and it was one of the Six Powers, Shave.
Tang An knew how powerful the Six Powers were, especially Shave, which was excellent for both offense and escape.
Mastering it could make him as quick as someone who could teleport.
Feeling the familiar convulsions of learning, Tang An’s body twitched, and his mind was filled with knowledge and techniques about Shave.
The rush of excitement faded, and Tang An’s face fell.
Like with the initial military combat training, he had to practice Shave from scratch, rather than mastering it instantly.
This damn system remained as useless as ever.
It never provided an easy shortcut.
Why couldn’t it just grant him instant mastery?
Why did life have to be so difficult?
For the past two days, training in military combat techniques with push-ups, sit-ups, and more had already worn Tang An out. Now he had to add Shave to his routine.
“Looks like mastering my fate isn’t so simple after all.”
Tang An wasn’t scared.
Compared to his past life, where effort often went unrewarded, at least in this life, hard work yielded results.
Tang An had experienced suicidal despair before; he wasn’t afraid of a bit of blood and sweat.
Looking at the interface, Tang An reviewed everything he had accumulated.
So far, he had rolled the dice ten times.
He got a Type 92 pistol with ten bullets, one of which he had already used.
Mid-stage cancer turned into late-stage cancer.
60ml of a substance sold for 110,000 Berries.
An online gambling ad.
A skill: Basic Military Combat Techniques.
One random teleportation opportunity.
One adult movie.
An expired bottle of Lao Gan Ma.
A skill: Sunflower Manual.
A skill: Shave.
Overall, it was a mixed bag, and the system’s patterns remained elusive.
It seemed like the blank spaces could yield anything, expected or unexpected.
Depending solely on a once-per-month dice roll wouldn’t take him to the pinnacle of life.
The odds of getting something good were too low.
The only shortcut was completing the ongoing task: hunting down the children of destiny, ultimate villains, transmigrators, reincarnators, and important characters or villains to gain more dice rolls and grow stronger.
This was a shortcut.
Tang An had read many stories about sinister systems. Was his useless system safe?
Tang An had tried to test it many times, but the system was unresponsive, as if it were just a simple game of Ludo.
Regardless of whether it was dangerous, he needed to stay vigilant.
Perhaps learning skills through hard work wasn’t a bad thing. If the system ever failed or left him, he wouldn’t be left with nothing.
With this thought, his previous frustration seemed to dissipate.
Now, the readers could suggest characters like reincarnators, transmigrators, and more. They could also propose various rewards and penalties for the dice rolls.
Penalties might include becoming a woman, impotence, losing limbs, constipation, or urinary issues.
Rewards could be various skills, weapons, movies, and more.
The possibilities were endless, limited only by imagination. Now was the time to show who was the most creative.
