Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 17
“Hiss!”
Suddenly waking up as if from a dream, Tang An found himself in a corner of an alleyway. Quickly, he got up and looked around.
“Did I succeed in crossing over?”
He checked his body; everything was intact, including the dozen gold coins and the red and blue gemstone dagger he had on him. He seemed to be in an alley, with the bustling sounds of people outside.
“Damn it.”
Tang An cursed. His random transmigration had been wasted.
He hadn’t expected Koshiro to discover him so quickly, leaving him no chance to escape.
But at least he managed to stab Zoro before leaving; it was not a complete loss.
He opened the system screen, and a line of text appeared.
“Arrived in a new world, reward: one dice roll. The dice roll reward resets every calendar month.”
“Ongoing mission: hunt the chosen of fate, destiny villains, transmigrators, reincarnators, and reborn individuals for an additional 4 dice rolls. Important supporting characters or villains provide dice rolls based on circumstances. Random luck bonus.”
Seeing this, Tang An’s expression darkened.
Roronoa Zoro was still alive; he hadn’t killed him.
If he had, the system would have displayed: “Successfully hunted important supporting character Roronoa Zoro from the One Piece world. Reward: dice rolls based on circumstances. Congratulations, you have received 3 chances, luck +1.”
Entering a new world granted only one dice roll, significantly less rewarding than the initial four rolls in the first world.
Does this mean the monthly reward will reset from now on?
Tang An turned the screen to another page. When he saw the countdown showing three months and five days remaining, he breathed a sigh of relief.
The life countdown was the same as in the One Piece world, unaffected by this transmigration.
First, he decided to roll the dice and then explore to understand his new world.
The dice rolled and landed on three. The plane token moved three spaces, and as the familiar light faded, Tang An’s previously gloomy face brightened up.
“Six Powers Technique: Moonwalk.”
“Description: Moonwalk is one of the Six Powers in One Piece. It’s an application technique of ‘Shave,’ using strong footwork to step on the air, creating strong lift. This allows the user to walk in the air as if climbing stairs. If the user’s stamina is sufficient, they can stay airborne for a long time.”
“Prerequisite: Mastery of Shave.”
“Learn?”
“Of course, hurry up.”
Tang An’s body shuddered as a surge of knowledge and techniques appeared in his mind.
As expected, Moonwalk, like the combat techniques and Shave, only provided the knowledge and techniques. Mastery requires diligent practice.
“Prerequisite: Shave?”
He could already step eight times in Shave; he only needed two more.
Once he mastered shaving, Moonwalk would be much easier since it was an extension technique.
“First, find out what world this is, then find a place to settle down. In the next three months, I must master Shave and Moonwalk and find a cure for cancer or a way to extend my life.”
Heading out of the alley, the bustling noise greeted him.
It seemed to be a street outside.
“What is this?”
At the alley’s exit, Tang An first saw a giant wall over fifty meters high.
Its massive size was hard to miss.
The street was busy with people wearing simple clothes. There were many fruit stalls and shops along the road, and soldiers from the Garrison Regiment patrolled periodically. The whole town had a medieval European vibe, with orderly high-rise buildings, most of them with pointed roofs.
Giant walls, medieval European architecture, patrolling soldiers…
Combining these clues, it was clear.
This was the world of Attack on Titan.
Tang An had seen this anime. It was one of the rare 404 epic series. There was a saying in the otaku community: if it’s a 404 anime, it must be a masterpiece. Even if not, it’s close to being one.
This anime’s story was all vividly portrayed: tight, gory, intense, and brutal.
Over two thousand years ago, in a tribe called Eldia, the then-ruler King Fritz had a slave named Ymir.
During an incident in which Ymir was used as a scapegoat for letting pigs escape, she fled into a tree hollow while being hunted by Fritz’s soldiers. She fell into a lake at the bottom of the hollow and came into contact with a spine-like unknown aquatic organism, gaining the power of the titans and becoming the first titan.
She served King Fritz in his conquests and bore him three daughters: Maria, Rose, and Sheena.
After an accident, King Fritz ordered Ymir to be dismembered and fed to her daughters, who inherited the titan power.
After generations of inheritance, the titan power stabilized into nine forms: Founding Titan, Attack Titan, Female Titan, Colossal Titan, Armored Titan, Jaw Titan, Beast Titan, Cart Titan, and War Hammer Titan.
These nine titans are intelligent, can transform through bloodshed with a clear purpose, and can revert to human form based on the host’s will.
Besides these nine intelligent titans, mindless titans can be created by injecting titan spinal fluid.
Mindless titans, lacking intelligence, are called Pure Titans. They have extremely high body temperatures, show no interest in non-human life, and only aim to eat humans. They don’t need to eat and have strong vitality. Their only weak point is a spot on the back of the neck about 1 meter long and 10 centimeters wide. Otherwise, even if their heads are blown apart or their bodies dismembered, they can recover in one to two minutes.
Intelligent and mindless Titans must have Eldian blood, Ymir’s lineage, to transform into Titans.
Tang An recalled the plot of this epic series and devised a plan.
He might have found a way to extend his life.
Both intelligent and mindless titans have robust vitality and regenerative abilities.
Intelligent titans generally have only 13 years of life, but mindless titans can live for hundreds or more without eating or drinking.
However, mindless titans lack intelligence. The best way is to become an intelligent titan.
Becoming an intelligent titan could potentially grant him 13 years of life. Tang An had no reason not to try.
As only Eldians could transform into intelligent or mindless titans, Tang An opened the system screen, and a vial of Ymir’s bloodline serum appeared.
Indians are Ymir’s descendants.
This was obtained from killing Vinsmoke Sanji.
Drinking this serum would give him half of Ymir’s bloodline, making him a half-blood.
Even half-bloods can transform into titans.
First, he needed to determine the year and whether Reiner, the Armored Titan, and Bertholdt, the Colossal Titan, had destroyed Wall Maria and Wall Rose.
Then, he needed to find a way to obtain titan spinal fluid and then eat the chosen of fate: Eren, Reiner, Bertholdt, Annie, the Female Titan, or Ymir, the Jaw Titan.
This Ymir has no relation to the Founding Ymir; they just share the same name.
After forming a plan, Tang An touched the red and blue gemstone dagger and the dozen gold coins on his waist. These should fetch a reasonable price.
Living expenses wouldn’t be an issue for a while.
Wait, the dagger and coins are from the pirate world. Could he bring items across the world?
Tang An’s eyes lit up. If so, it opened up many possibilities.
But considering again, Tang An doubted his useless golden finger was so generous.
He would test it later.
The Eldian Empire lived within three giant walls: the outermost Wall Maria, Wall Rose, and Wall Sheena.
To sell the dagger and coins for a reasonable price, he needed to go to Wall Sheena, where most nobles, merchants, and wealthy lived.
