Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 18
Wall Rose is the second of humanity’s three walls, and Tang An currently resides in the southern Trost District.
“So, it’s been almost five years since Wall Maria was breached?” Tang An inquired, eyeing the shopkeeper, examining the red and blue gemstone dagger in his hand.
He had just gathered a lot of information from the shopkeeper. Wall Maria, the outermost wall, had been breached five years ago, and now it was overrun by mindless titans. All Indians were now within Wall Rose and Wall Sheena.
“Not exactly… It’s still three months short of five years,” the shopkeeper responded, admiring the dagger through a magnifying glass, particularly the large red and blue gemstones and the pure gold body of the dagger. Despite his shop being among the top ten in Wall Rose and Wall Sheena, he had never seen such a treasure.
Tang An frowned in thought. According to the plot, the Colossal Titan would breach Wall Rose in three months, causing the entire Wall Rose to fall. This event would lead to the choice of fate: Eren awakens his titan powers and joins the Survey Corps, beginning the mission to reclaim Wall Rose.
This meant that Reiner, the Armored Titan; Bertholdt, the Colossal Titan; Annie, the Female Titan; Ymir, the Jaw Titan; and the chosen of fate, Eren, who possessed the Attack and Founding Titans, were all still in the Training Corps.
“Three months.”
Tang An tapped the counter thoughtfully.
“How much do you want for this dagger?” The shopkeeper’s eyes gleamed with greed. He had to have this dagger at any cost.
“Just arrange for me a secluded house with a yard near the wall, where few people live. Deliver food to me daily for three months until I join the Garrison Regiment.”
Tang An didn’t ask for money, just a place to live. He planned to join the Garrison Regiment.
In this walled world, there were four leading regiments:
- Training Corps: Made up of recruits and instructors responsible for training them. Graduates could join the Survey Corps, Military Police Brigade, or Garrison Regiment.
- Survey Corps: The regiment with the highest death rate was tasked with venturing beyond the walls to face Titans, which Eren would join.
- Military Police Brigade: Tasked with maintaining order and serving the king, the military police brigade was a popular choice due to its power and lack of danger.
- Garrison Regiment: Responsible for fortifying the walls, defending cities, and patrolling.
Tang An was interested in the Three-Dimensional Maneuver Gear. Even though he planned to master Shave and Moonwalk, this gear would save a lot of stamina and align with his plans.
“Oh, you want to join the Garrison Regiment? I can introduce you. But about the dagger…”
“Is it enough?” Tang An took out a gold coin.
“No problem.”
The shopkeeper inspected the gold coin through a magnifying glass. Its design was unlike any coin in circulation, and its material was unique.
“Arthur, take this gentleman to residence number 36 by the wall.”
The transaction went smoothly. The shopkeeper didn’t show ill intentions or try to probe where Tang An got these items. Tang An was prepared for a fight if necessary.
“Please follow me,” said Arthur, the shopkeeper’s assistant, leading Tang An out of the shop.
After about half an hour, they reached a two-story house with a yard near the wall. It was somewhat worn, with overgrown weeds, indicating it had been abandoned for some time. Nearby was a moat-like river.
Due to the proximity to the wall’s gate, few people lived in this area, mainly the poorest. Living close to the gate meant being the first to face the Titans if the gate was breached.
This area was likely a slum.
Tang An surveyed the surroundings. The wall’s gate was about a kilometer away, neither too far nor too close.
If he remembered correctly, this gate would be breached by the Colossal Titan in three months.
He should be able to master Shave and Moonwalk within that time.
With these skills, his safety would be significantly increased. In his current state, he couldn’t be sure of defeating Levi, a critical supporting character and his hunting target.
“We’ll deliver food at 6 AM, 12 PM, and 6 PM daily.”
Taking the keys from Arthur, Tang An nodded.
After Arthur left, Tang An chose a room on the second floor with a window overlooking the gate. The house seemed to have been cleaned, with all necessary furniture in place.
“Time to start training!”
With tight time, Tang An briefly settled in before starting his daily training in the yard.
A month passed like this.
During this month, Tang An ate, drank, and slept in the tiny house, with meals delivered thrice daily. However, the food in this world wasn’t delicious, mainly consisting of sweet potato dumplings. He spent two more gold coins on some meat to replenish his strength after intense training.
“Slower than I expected!” Tang An, drenched in sweat, trained in shaving in the yard. Despite a month passing, he hadn’t mastered it yet.
However, he had made progress. If lucky, he could now step nine times, sometimes even nine and a half times. Once he crossed that half-step, he would have mastered shaving.
But he hadn’t broken through yet. Without mastering Shave, there was no progress on Moonwalk either.
On the bright side, his physical condition had improved immensely.
He could now do a thousand push-ups and sit-ups in one go.
His abs were now a solid six-pack.
However, his cancer had flared up five times this month, each time more painful than the last.
Stretching, his body covered in sweat, Tang An jumped into the nearby river for a swim. He had also been training Shave in the water, which had been very effective.
“Tonight should be the first natural month for a dice roll.”
Tang An was both eager and nervous. While he could draw valuable items, lousy luck could result in something useless or detrimental.
Last month, he had drawn an ultra-spicy laxative, which had eventually been useful but still left him uncertain.
After finishing dinner, Tang An resumed training until midnight.
“Let’s begin!”
Under the sparse moonlight, Tang An finished training, dragging his exhausted body to bed. He opened the system screen and looked at the natural month reward dice.
The dice rolled and landed on four. The plane token moved, and the familiar light faded!
“A pair of one-meter-long diamond Nepalese kukri knives.”
“Description: Made of diamond, hard and sharp, visually stunning, and a woman’s favorite….”
“Second weapon.”
Tang An marveled at the diamond-transparent kukri knives in his hand, each one meter long and quite heavy.
“Truly luxurious.”
To his knowledge, diamonds were the hardest natural material, and these knives were essentially made of diamonds. They were wide-bladed, forward-curving, and resembled dog legs.
They reflected a crystalline glow in the light, which would be even more dazzling in sunlight.
Diamond’s famed hardness meant the blade could cut hair by blowing on it.
Counting the Type 92 pistol, this was Tang An’s second weapon draw. The former was a firearm, while the latter was an exceedingly luxurious cold weapon.
These two kukri knives, each a meter long, would be worth billions in his previous life.
Additionally, their arrival was timely. One would be enough, but having two was even better!
Tang An pondered, looking at his useless golden finger. The appearance of Ymir’s bloodline and being in the Attack on Titan world seemed too coincidental.
Especially the Ymir’s bloodline.
Could his useless golden finger have some hidden capability?
