Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 23
“Here are the syringes you requested,” the shopkeeper said, pushing a wooden box the size of two palms toward Tang An. Inside were two medical syringes.
“Thanks, but I’m out of gold coins. I’ve given you everything I had,” Tang An said as he opened the box and inspected the syringes before putting them away.
“I heard that Commander Erwin of the Survey Corps invited you to join them?” The shopkeeper shook his head, more surprised at Tang An’s decision to join the Survey Corps than at the low value of the syringes.
“I couldn’t refuse his kindness. To me, there’s not much difference between the Garrison Regiment and the Survey Corps,” Tang An shrugged. If his timing was right, today was the day the Colossal Titan would break down Wall Rose.
Time had flown by; he had been in this world for three months, spending two and twenty days mastering Shave and moonwalking and another ten days learning to use the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. His life countdown was now officially at seven days.
And tonight, he would roll the third natural month’s dice at midnight.
“By the way, since we have some rapport, I’d advise you to head to Wall Sheena right now,” Tang An said, putting the syringes into his pocket and adjusting his Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. He figured he might still need the shopkeeper’s help in the future.
“What do you mean?” The shopkeeper looked puzzled.
“I’ve warned you. Whether you believe me or not is up to you,” Tang An shrugged and waved goodbye as he left.
Most of the Survey Corps had already gone to investigate Wall Maria, so Tang An didn’t bother reporting in. With some time to spare, he planned to go back and get a good night’s sleep, as things might get busy soon.
Watching Tang An’s disappearing figure, the shopkeeper frowned in thought.
“Arthur, pack up. We’re heading to Wall Sheena,” the shopkeeper ordered. Being one of the top ten merchants of the Eldian Empire, his instincts were sharper than most.
“Boss?” Arthur needed clarification.
“Just do it,” the shopkeeper insisted, knowing he had business in Wall Sheena anyway.
“Yes, sir.”
Meanwhile, Tang An returned to his rented house near the wall. The shopkeeper had generously extended the lease for another half month.
After washing up in the river, Tang An lay down on his bed, sorting through the upcoming events in the story.
Today, the Colossal Titan would break Wall Rose. The exact time was unknown, but Eren would soon be eaten by a bearded old titan while saving Armin and then transform into the Attack Titan. After defeating several titans, Eren is cornered by a Garrison Regiment captain and nearly killed by cannons, only to be saved by Armin’s suggestion to use his titan form to seal the breach in Wall Rose with a boulder.
Erwin and Levi would then return to judge Eren, who, after a beating from Levi, would be assigned to the Survey Corps. The 104th Training Corps members would start joining the Survey Corps.
With Eren in their ranks, the Survey Corps would embark on the 57th expedition outside the walls. Erwin would suspect there was a traitor among them who could transform into an intelligent titan, leading to a plan to capture the Female Titan in the Forest of Giant Trees. The Female Titan would escape despite a fierce battle, nearly killing Eren, if not for Levi’s intervention and Mikasa’s help.
Back within Wall Rose, Armin would confirm Annie as the Female Titan. Another fierce battle would ensue, resulting in Annie encasing herself in crystal using a hardening ability to avoid capture.
That covered the first season.
In the second season, the Beast Titan would turn the inhabitants of Connie’s village into mindless titans. Ymir would reveal her identity as the Jaw Titan to protect the true royal heir, Krista. Reiner would then admit to being the Armored Titan, and Bertholdt the Colossal Titan. A fierce battle would follow, with Eren being captured by Reiner and Bertholdt. Erwin would lead a mission to retrieve Eren, and during this mission, Eren would unlock the Founding Titan’s coordinate power after witnessing Hannes being killed by the Smiling Titan.
The third season focused on internal political struggles, with Armin consuming Bertholdt to inherit the Colossal Titan and learning part of the truth about the world.
Tang An hadn’t read the manga covering events in Marley, but it didn’t matter. He intended to consume all the intelligent Titans and wrap things up by the end of the first season.
Being a transmigrator had its perks.
Still, Tang An remained cautious, reviewing the details of his ongoing mission repeatedly:
“Hunt the chosen of fate, destiny villains, transmigrators, reincarnators, and reborn individuals for +4 dice rolls. Important supporting characters or villains yield dice rolls based on circumstances, with random luck bonuses.”
In the One Piece world, Tang An had suspected Enel to be a fellow transmigrator. He hadn’t had the chance to confirm the presence of reincarnators or reborn individuals, but they might exist in this world, too. These people could possess even more powerful cheat abilities than their own.
His priority was not to get killed by them.
Tang An wasn’t underestimating himself but knew that cheat abilities could vary wildly in strength. A cheat that made someone invincible from the start would be a severe problem.
The variety of cheat abilities was vast, and Tang An had little faith in his own.
Reincarnation, on the other hand, was easier to understand. Typically tied to a main god space, their cheat abilities stemmed from missions set by the main god, and they earned points to exchange for powerful items or abilities.
Tang An had been vigilant but hadn’t noticed anything suspicious around Eren. Although nothing had surfaced, he remained on guard. There were too many transmigrators these days, making life difficult without a high-tier cheat ability.
Shaking off these thoughts, Tang An solidified his next target: the Female Titan. She would be an easier target since Levi would severely injure her in the Forest of Giant Trees.
If not for the danger of being mindless and without awareness, Tang An would have already targeted the Armored Titan, Colossal Titan, or Attack + Founding Titan Eren.
Becoming a mindless titan meant constant life-threatening danger, as any soldier with the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear could kill him.
To ensure absolute success, he first consumed the Female Titan, becoming an intelligent titan, before targeting the others.
Tang An didn’t underestimate the people of this world.
With his target set, Tang An reviewed the 17 dice rolls he had received since transmigrating, a random assortment of items.
Then, he watched the online advertisements and revisited old movies, finding them a comforting distraction despite their familiarity.
