At 1 PM, Eren, Connie, and a few others, led by a squad leader from the Garrison Regiment, were inspecting and reinforcing cannons on the wall. Everyone was in high spirits since this was an easy task. They were close to graduation, which meant choosing between the Survey Corps, Garrison Regiment, and the Military Police Brigade. Only the top ten graduates could join the Military Police Brigade, while Eren had always aimed for the Survey Corps.

“Connie, any issues on your side?” Eren called out after finishing his inspection.

“I’ve got a minor problem here. Give me three minutes to fix it,” Connie replied, wiping sweat from his forehead. It was a hot day, but the occasional strong wind at fifty meters high brought some relief.

“I’ll check the other areas then.”

“Alright.”

As Eren moved away, a bolt of golden lightning struck from the sky, accompanied by a powerful storm and steam. A massive head appeared behind Eren—the Colossal Titan had arrived. Its body was covered in red muscle without skin, emitting a lot of steam at an extremely high temperature.

Eren, Connie, and the others were thrown back. Using the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear to anchor himself to the wall, Eren glared at the Colossal Titan, his face twisted with rage.

“Five years, and now you’re back,” Eren yelled, wanting to tear the Colossal Titan apart. But the Colossal Titan ignored Eren, raising its right foot to kick the outer gate with immense force. The gate shattered in less than a second, and a massive roar shook the surrounding area of Wall Rose.

Countless stones fell like a meteor shower, destroying everything in their path. Amid the screams of terror from the residents, houses were reduced to rubble, with countless people crushed to death, their blood and organs splattering everywhere. The hurricane that followed flattened everything within five hundred meters.

A massive stream of air flowed through the gate, sounding like the whispers of a demon.

“Dong…dong…” The central building’s large bell rang, throwing the southern area of Wall Rose into chaos.

“The wall has been breached!”

“Run!”

“It’s been five years, and they’re back?”

“Help!”

“My child, where’s my child?”

“Ahh…”

The scene was pure hell, with limbs flying everywhere as humans were crushed like ants.

“It’s begun,” Tang An said, standing on his rooftop, fully equipped with the Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. The strong wind from the gate almost knocked him over. From a distance, he saw the blood-red, muscle-bound, hideous head of the Colossal Titan, constantly emitting superheated steam.

“No wonder he’s the protagonist,” Tang An murmured; even from over a thousand meters away, he could see Eren flying towards the Colossal Titan’s head. Despite the enormous difference in size, Eren showed no fear and was determined to slash the Titan’s nape. But it was a futile effort. As the Colossal Titan emitted more steam, it vanished into thin air.

“Gone,” Eren landed back on the wall, staring at the empty space and the two deep footprints of the Colossal Titan.

“Eren, did you kill the Colossal Titan?” Connie, with some burns on his body, asked in disbelief.

“No, it disappeared just like five years ago,” Eren replied, gripping his blades tightly, his face filled with hatred.

“All the equipment on the wall is destroyed,” another member of the Garrison Regiment reported, his face pale with fear. The appearance of the Colossal Titan brought back the nightmare of five years ago.

Could Wall Rose be lost, too? This was the southern area, but what about the east, west, and north?

“Let’s head back,” Eren said as they used their gear to descend the wall, rushing towards the inner wall to report the breach.

“Everyone, gather!” Within the inner wall, Garrison Regiment Captain Kitz ordered all soldiers to prepare for defense, as mindless Titans had already started entering through the gate.

“Captain, we don’t have enough people.”

“The 104th trainees are here. Have them equip their gear immediately. We must protect this wall and prevent the titans from rampaging again.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Quickly!”

“Prepare for battle.”

“Yes, sir.”

Tang An remained on his rooftop, watching the titans enter through the gate. They ranged from three meters to twelve meters in height and varied in shape and size. All the titans were deformed, with some being fat, some thin, and others even having hair. They moved purely on instinct, looking incredibly stupid.

“This is the first time I’ve seen mindless titans up close,” Tang An remarked, observing a seven-meter tall, fat titan with a huge belly, smooth crotch without any sexual organs, large eyes, and an enormous mouth with big teeth. The titan was bald, resembling a deformed old man.

Tang An launched himself using his gear, aiming at the fat titan’s nape. With a swift slash, a large chunk of flesh flew off, and the titan fell.

That was easy.

But things always go differently than planned. A massive mouth suddenly lunged at him—a five-meter-tall titan had jumped to devour Tang An. The stench was overwhelming, and its front teeth were as large as keyboards.

For someone else, this might have been fatal.

With a sharp crack, Tang An used Shave to disappear and reappear at the titan’s left side, then used Moonwalk to slash its nape, bringing it down.

Landing on a building, Tang An observed the titans around him devouring humans, his eyes narrowing.

“Time to extract the spinal fluid,” he muttered, looking at the steaming, dissolving corpses of the fat titan and the five-meter titan he had just killed. The sight was revolting.

As Tang An prepared to extract the spinal fluid, a figure appeared out of nowhere three hundred meters to his left.

There’s no mistaking it; that person appeared out of thin air.
