Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 27
It’s over.”
“That is…”
As the black-haired, green-eyed titan defeated several surrounding mindless titans and finally collapsed among the ruins, losing its ability to move, high-temperature steam continued to emanate. Everyone watched as a figure emerged from the back of the titan’s neck.
Mikasa was the first to leap from the building, swiftly running to the steaming back of the titan’s neck. Confirming it was Eren, she embraced him tightly, her eyes filled with tears and relief.
“It’s Eren.”
“How is that possible?”
“Eren turned into a titan.”
Seeing the remnants of muscle tissue still connected to his temples and the blood traces extending from his eye sockets and cheeks, it was undoubtedly Eren.
“We need to get to a safe place first.”
Connie and the others helped Mikasa and Eren towards the inner gate of the wall. Tang An followed, urging Jean to bring Zhou Wei along.
The subsequent events unfolded predictably: Eren’s emerging from the titan was witnessed by many. The Garrison Regiment leader, Kitz Woermann, led his troops to surround Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, questioning whether Eren was human or titan.
As they landed on the inner gate wall, they were immediately surrounded.
Tang An kept a close watch on Zhou Wei but was very cautious.
“Eren, are you human or titan?”
Kitz and the surrounding garrison soldiers were terrified, looking at Eren like a demon.
“A bunch of cowards.”
Zhou Wei stood with Mikasa and Armin, shielding Eren. He looked at the cannons on the wall and the soldiers drawing their blades, feeling disdain for Kitz, who was trembling with fear.
In Zhou Wei’s eyes, these people were worthless. He had been furious when watching the anime, seeing how these soldiers were more of a hindrance than help. If not for his mission, he would have slapped them dead.
Tang An also stood nearby, but instead of making rash moves, he distanced himself from Eren and the others. He drew his blade, feigning fear, fully immersing himself in the act.
Tang An intended to prevent Zhou Wei from discovering his identity too soon. By blending in with the fearful crowd, he aimed to appear as a local.
“I am human.”
Eren had regained consciousness but had no memory of his titan transformation.
“Is that so?”
With a vicious glint in his eyes, Kitz lowered his head and prepared to give the order.
“Fire.”
“Boom…”
The cannons on the wall fired a shell.
Zhou Wei didn’t act because he knew Eren would transform into a titan skeleton to protect Mikasa and Armin.
As a golden lightning bolt descended, a tremendous shockwave erupted.
Dense steam spread, obscuring everyone’s vision.
“Did it work?”
As the garrison soldiers whispered among themselves, Eren, now a titan skeleton, had protected Armin, Mikasa, and Zhou Wei within.
“Is everyone alright?”
Emerging from the back of the titan’s neck, Eren checked on the unharmed Mikasa and Armin, sighing in relief. He also looked at Zhou Wei with gratitude.
Although he didn’t know Zhou Wei, this man had defended him just moments ago, for which Eren was grateful.
“My name is Zhou Wei.”
Fanning away the steam, Zhou Wei smiled at Eren.
“I’m Eren. Thank you.”
“No problem. Those guys are just cowards. If humanity could harness the power of the titans, we could reclaim Wall Rose.”
Zhou Wei subtly hinted, speaking more for Armin’s benefit.
Indeed, Zhou Wei’s hint sparked an idea in Armin’s mind to resolve their current crisis.
“Eren, Mikasa, Zhou Wei, stay inside. I’ll go talk to them.”
Removing his maneuvering gear, Armin raised his hands and stepped out of the steam.
“Armin.”
Eren and Mikasa were worried.
“Don’t make any sudden moves.”
Emerging from the steam, Armin raised his hands, coughing to show he meant no harm.
At this moment, everyone saw the titan skeleton behind Armin, covered in dissolving muscle fibers.
“Prepare.”
Kitz, still terrified, raised his hand, ready to give the order for another volley.
“Wait. Although I don’t understand why Eren can turn into a titan, we can use this power to seal Wall Rose. Eren fought and killed several titans earlier, proving he stands with us against other titans…”
Armin quickly and decisively laid out his points, revealing two critical pieces of information. As a titan, Eren was an enemy to other titans and could use his power to seal the outer gate and reclaim Wall Rose.
Many garrison soldiers lowered their blades, considering Armin’s proposal.
They had seen Eren transform and fight other titans, confirming Armin’s words.
“You think I would believe that?”
Kitz was too terrified to reason.
He was about to give the order when Zhou Wei intervened, using his Graceful Steps Upon the Waves technique to create a series of illusions. In just a few breaths, he appeared before Kitz, grabbing his throat and forcing him to his knees.
“And a coward like you can be a leader?”
It happened so fast that no one had time to react.
“You…”
“Let go of Kitz, sir.”
Many garrison soldiers swallowed hard, shocked by how Zhou Wei had crossed ten meters instantly, leaving only a trail of illusions.
“And a coward like you dares to lead? Consider Armin’s proposal carefully. People like him should be titan food.”
Zhou Wei sneered, looking at Kitz with disdain.
Tang An, standing nearby, noticed Zhou Wei’s movement. Though fast, it was slower than his own Shave technique.
“Stop this.”
A voice called from behind. The crowd parted, and an elderly man with a mustache and bald head, followed by several others, appeared.
Dot Pixis is the highest-ranking officer in the southern region of Wall Rose, including the Trost District.
“Commander Pixis.”
All garrison soldiers sheathed their blades.
“You never change, do you?”
Pixis glanced at Kitz, clearly aware of his personality.
“Which regiment are you from?”
Pixis looked at Zhou Wei with interest. The man wasn’t in uniform, indicating he was a civilian. Yet, a civilian had managed to subdue Kitz in front of everyone, which was intriguing.
“I’m just a civilian.”
Releasing Kitz, Zhou Wei returned to Mikasa’s side.
“Your proposal was good.”
Pixis turned to Armin.
“Yes!”
Armin stood straight, his hand over his heart, looking severe.
“Follow me.”
Pixis glanced at Eren and the others before turning to leave.
“Commander.”
Many garrison soldiers wanted to object but ultimately allowed Eren and the others to leave.
Minutes later, they stood atop the inner wall, looking at the broken outer gate and the Titans continuously entering.
“We’ll go with your plan.”
Pixis took a swig from his flask.
“But…”
Armin needed clarification.
“No buts.”
Pixis cut him off, turning his sharp gaze to Eren. “You only have this one choice.”
