Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 39
After devouring Ymir, Tang An turned his attention to Eren.
“Annie, what are you doing?” Bertholdt yelled, unable to recognize the Annie he knew.
Tang An, unmoved, stepped forward to grab Eren.
“I’ll kill all of you one day. I’ll make you suffer endlessly,” Eren stood up, his left hand only a stump, emitting steam as it slowly regenerated. Hatred filled his eyes.
“Bang!”
At the crucial moment, Reiner came charging, knocking Tang An away.
“Annie, what are you doing?” Reiner roared, his jaw now fully recovered.
Meanwhile, Bertholdt seized the opportunity to grab Eren and leap to a distant giant tree, watching the two giants clash below with a face full of questions.
Eren began to laugh despite his dire situation. He could see that his enemies were fighting among themselves.
Another gas cylinder appeared in Tang An’s hand, intact from the previous blow, indicating its durability.
Neither Reiner, Bertholdt, nor Eren understood where Tang An’s weapon had come from.
“Annie, what is your aim?” Reiner demanded, taking a combat stance as Tang An advanced again.
“Bang!”
The gas cylinder smashed through the air, forcing Reiner to duck. Tang An followed up with a spinning kick to Reiner’s chest, sending him flying again.
“Impossible, this power…” Reiner thought, dazed as he lay in a crater of broken earth, struggling to comprehend how Annie’s strength had doubled. He wondered if the person inside the Female Titan was Annie at all.
“You’re not Annie,” Reiner rasped as he got up, his voice harsh and gravelly.
Tang An was surprised. Only the Jaw Titan and the Beast Titan had spoken in the original story. Now, it seemed possible that all Nine Titans could say, though it hadn’t been shown.
Ignoring Reiner’s question, Tang An swung the gas cylinder again.
“Bang!”
Reiner sidestepped the attack and punched at Tang An’s face, but Tang An’s reflexes were sharper than expected. Tang An dodged and leaped up, delivering a knee strike to Reiner’s jaw, sending him staggering back.
Blood spurted from Reiner’s mouth as he stepped back. Before he could recover, Tang An’s gas cylinder smashed into him again, this time sending him skidding across the ground, armor cracking and falling off.
In the distance, Erwin led the Survey Corps closer, their figures growing larger.
“What’s happening?” They initially thought they were seeing things, but now they saw the Female Titan battling the Armored Titan.
“This is bad.”
Seeing the Survey Corps approaching, Bertholdt, still carrying Eren, shouted, “Reiner, the Survey Corps is here. We need to retreat.”
“Damn it,” Reiner muttered as he got up, steam pouring from his injuries. Without looking back, he charged toward Bertholdt, who carried Eren and ran along the forest’s edge. Entering the forest would be dangerous, giving the Survey Corps an advantage.
Tang An’s gas cylinder disappeared. Seeing the approaching Survey Corps, he turned and pursued the Armored Titan.
“Our only objective is to rescue Eren,” Erwin shouted, leading his forces into the Forest of Giant Trees.
Levi, Mikasa, Armin, and Connie continued chasing the Titans across the plains. Despite his recent injury, Levi’s presence was due to Zhou Wei’s recovery serum.
“Swish… swish…”
ODM gear cables shot into Tang An’s shoulder, and five Survey Corps members swung up, aiming to take down the Female Titan.
Tang An, annoyed, covered his nape with his right hand. Without hardening abilities, these attacks could be dangerous.
“My target is the Armored and Colossal Titans. If you interfere again, I will kill you all,” Tang An said, his voice sharp and grating as he turned to face the soldiers.
The Survey Corps froze, stunned by the Female Titan’s ability to speak.
“She can talk,” Sasha whispered, her hair on end.
“My god,” Connie muttered, unable to comprehend.
“Who are you?” Jean gripped his reins tightly.
Levi and Mikasa wore grim expressions.
Only Zhou Wei remained deep in thought.
“Something’s wrong,” Armin said, his eyes filled with doubt and fear. The current Female Titan felt entirely different from before.
Levi and Mikasa sensed it too.
“Hmph, do you think transforming into a Titan makes you invincible?” One Survey Corps member behind the Female Titan attacked, followed by the other four.
Tang An’s killing intent flared. Holding his nape with his left hand, he swung the diamond-bladed kukri knife with his right.
With a swift slash, the five soldiers were cut down like weeds.
Tang An stopped, turning to face the Survey Corps with cold eyes, twin kukri knives glinting in his hands.
“Not good,” the Survey Corps members shivered, feeling the chilling aura.
They realized the Female Titan was truly enraged, and the sudden appearance of her weapons only added to their terror.
