Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 4
“Damn it, the Bluejam Pirates have gone too far.”
“Clearing out the place just to eat.”
“They’re so overbearing.”
After filling his stomach, Tang An prepared to leave Central Street and head to the Terminal of Uncertainty, where he planned to find a way to join the Bluejam Pirates.
Then, he could wait for the right moment to take advantage of the situation.
Although there was danger, the 100,000 berries in his bag should make a good impression.
To ensure everything went smoothly, he had to take this risk.
Three thugs with bruised faces and limping gaits approached, cursing about being bullied by the Bluejam Pirates.
“Excuse me, do you know where the Bluejam Pirates are?”
Tang An asked angrily.
“Where’s this little brat from? Get lost.”
The three thugs, irritated and holding their faces in pain, glared fiercely at him.
“I’m a victim too. I want to take revenge on the Bluejam Pirates.”
Tang An gritted his teeth, his eyes red with fury.
His acting could easily win a newcomer award.
“You? Hahaha…”
The three thugs laughed, but it hurt their wounds, making them wince.
With Tang An’s skeletal frame, they could knock him down with a single slap.
“They’re at the noodle shop over there. Good luck surviving.”
The three thugs were more than happy to send Tang An to trouble the Bluejam Pirates, hoping he would get killed.
This kind of twisted mindset was evident.
Parting ways with the thugs, Tang An walked down a street towards the noodle shop, hearing the loud, crude noises from afar.
He clutched his bag and headed to the noodle shop.
Success depended on the 100,000 berries.
Joining the Bluejam Pirates was risky. Tang An might end up losing both his money and his life.
He could have chosen not to join the pirates, but that would make things even more complicated.
Not joining the Bluejam Pirates would reduce his success rate to 20-30%. Joining them increased it to 80-90%.
Most importantly, the Bluejam Pirates had a ship that provided an escape route.
But this route was dangerous, potentially leading to death at sea.
If he managed to kill Luffy, Ace, and Sabo, he would need to flee the Goa Kingdom.
Otherwise, death was inevitable.
Just Sabo’s noble father alone could have him killed.
Not to mention the possible presence of Dragon and the mountain bandits.
Failing to complete the cheat’s ongoing mission was no different from waiting for death.
With his late-stage cancer, he didn’t know when he might die.
His last hope lay in the useless cheat.
If he could fight Ace and the others, he wouldn’t be scheming like this.
A gun?
Even with a gun, he couldn’t win, so this was his only option.
“This place is reserved for the Bluejam Pirates.”
At the noodle shop entrance, Tang An was stopped.
“I’m here to see Captain Bluejam.”
Tang An directly showed the bag filled with 100,000 berries.
He had kept 5,000 berries for himself.
The pirate at the entrance hesitated, eyes brightening, then let Tang An wait while he went inside.
“Come in.”
After about a minute, the pirate returned.
Following the pirate, Tang An entered the noodle shop. The main room had five tables, all occupied by pirates.
All eyes turned to Tang An, the pressure intense.
“You wanted to see me?”
A man with a slicked-back hairline, a broad chin, and a beard, wearing a black coat, sat with legs crossed, looking down at Tang An.
This was Bluejam, captain of the Bluejam Pirates.
In the Terminal of Uncertainty and Edge Town, he was the most potent pirate and bandit leader.
“Please let me join you.”
Tang An bowed, offering the bag with both hands.
“I want to become as strong as Captain Bluejam. I want to be a pirate. This is all my savings.”
“Hahaha… kid, you think you can join us with that body?”
Some pirates laughed. They were all strong and burly, unlike the skinny and short Tang An.
“Captain Bluejam is my idol. In the entire Terminal of Uncertainty and Edge Town, who doesn’t fear him? Even nobles don’t dare provoke him. Please let me join the Bluejam Pirates, I’m begging you.”
Tang An’s voice was filled with admiration as he bowed again to Bluejam.
“Hahaha… bring it here.”
Bluejam laughed heartily, enjoying the flattery.
He didn’t expect to have such a devoted fan.
“100,000 berries, though a small sum, your sincerity is impressive. From now on, you’re a member of the Bluejam Pirates.”
Seeing the 100,000 berries, Bluejam was even happier.
The money itself wasn’t much, but he appreciated Tang An’s admiration and flattery.
“Thank you, Captain Bluejam.”
Tang An maintained his excitement but felt relieved inside.
It went smoother than expected.
Money and flattery still worked wonders.
At dusk, Tang An followed the Bluejam Pirates back to the bay.
Bluejam had left earlier.
Standing on the beach, Tang An looked at the massive pirate ship, almost like a floating mansion.
It seemed all the pirates lived on the ship.
He wasn’t sure why they hadn’t left the Goa Kingdom.
Tang An remembered that in the story, Bluejam wanted to become a noble and made a deal with the Goa King during the Celestial Dragons’ visit.
They planned to burn the Terminal of Uncertainty with explosives and oil, and the Goa King would make Bluejam a noble. But in the end, the king betrayed him, ordering the gates of the Terminal and Edge Town to be closed.
Bluejam’s dream of nobility was shattered.
So Bluejam no longer wanted to wander as a pirate but aimed to settle as a noble.
“Tang An, this is your room. Tomorrow, come with us to the Terminal of Uncertainty to collect things.”
“Yes.”
Following the pirate onto the ship, Tang An was placed in a cabin with a single bunk bed.
It seemed he would be living here for a while.
Maybe it was the 100,000 berries or his genuine admiration for Bluejam that satisfied the captain’s vanity.
Tang An hasn’t been assigned any menial tasks for now.
Though it might not last, he was prepared for the future.
“Finally…”
After a day of chaos, Tang An could finally catch his breath.
Lying on the wooden bed, he let his mind relax a bit.
Then he started planning again.
For the time being, he needed to keep a low profile until the right opportunity arose. He also needed to figure out how to sail a pirate ship.
Stock up on food and water; the ship should have supplies.
He had to find out.
And prepare for any unexpected events.
After rethinking and refining his plans, Tang An began examining the useless cheat.
With a thought, the light screen appeared.
It is still simple, with nothing hidden.
Misty blank squares stretched out with a model plane on the previously rolled dice points.
Rules: Each natural month, you get one dice roll. Each square can yield unexpected items or take away something from the player.
Ongoing mission: Kill the chosen ones of fate, the designated villains, transmigrators, reincarnators, and reborn ones to get +4 dice rolls. Supporting characters or minor villains can yield dice rolls based on the situation.
It’s a random luck bonus.
“Is there a beginner’s package?”
The useless cheat seemed like a combination of a system and a small game of flying chess. In typical system novels, there would be an AI and a beginner’s package.
Clearly, Tang An’s cheat was rudimentary.
It wasn’t a high-end intelligent system, barely qualifying as a system.
It didn’t even issue tasks; it was just an ongoing mission.
Tang An tried various methods but found no surprises.
This proved again it was a useless cheat. Relying on it entirely was unrealistic.
He had to depend on himself.
And the cheat was a double-edged sword, with no way to predict what it might yield.
