Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 5
“Boss, Tang An is here.”
Early the following day, Tang An was woken up and brought to the deck.
Today, he was to follow Hilter to the Terminal of Uncertainty to collect things, which could be protection fees or simple robbery.
Usually, this job was handled by Porsche, the guy who caught Luffy and nearly killed him to force him to reveal Ace and Sabo’s location. Unfortunately, Porchemy failed and was shot in the head by Bluejam.
So, Hilter took over.
Hilter was a three-meter-tall giant wielding a one-meter-long machete. His fierce appearance made it clear he was no good.
“From now on, you follow me.”
Hilter stood up, casting a shadow over Tang An, who was only half his height.
It was overwhelming.
“Yes.”
Tang An stood straight, his face full of excitement.
After eating, the five of them disembarked and headed to the Terminal of Uncertainty.
One pirate even-handed Tang An a short sword, about half a meter long, with a few nicks in the blade, exuding a sense of poverty.
Returning to the Terminal of Uncertainty, Hilter and the others got to work immediately.
Besides collecting berries in designated areas, they were also robbed and sometimes killed.
Like now.
Tang An watched a body split in two, lying in a pool of blood, the stench of garbage mixing with the smell of blood.
His face was pale, and he felt nauseous. The terror on the face of the dead, along with the gory scene, was shocking.
Though Tang An was no stranger to fighting, he had never killed anyone, let alone sliced them in half.
“Haha… scared?”
To Hilter, it was like splitting an ant. He shook the blood off his machete and looked at Tang An’s twitching, pale face with a hint of delight.
Tang An said nothing and quickly recovered.
At first, he was just unaccustomed, but soon he felt a strange excitement and eagerness.
“Move.”
Without paying much attention to Tang An, Hilter moved on to the next target.
He had to gather enough berries; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to answer to the captain.
The five of them walked through the Terminal of Uncertainty, encountering no trouble from bandits.
In fact, many people looked at Hilter with fear.
“Stop.”
A commotion arose in the distance as three kids jumped through the ruins with items in their hands, pursued by several people.
“Come catch us!”
Luffy jumped onto a broken plank, pulling his eyelids at the pursuers.
“Idiot Luffy, let’s go.”
Ace punched Luffy on the head, then grabbed him and disappeared into the ruins.
“Hilter, it’s those three kids, Ace and the others.”
“Catch them.”
Hilter took the lead in chasing them.
They had a grudge against Ace’s group, and Bluejam had ordered them to take down these kids.
According to their information, the kids had stolen a lot of treasure, some of which belonged to the Bluejam Pirates.
Tang An joined the chase, doubting they could catch Ace and his friends with just five people.
They might even suffer a loss.
But there was also an opportunity.
Tang An glanced at the gun on the light screen.
The harsh reality hit them when they reached the edge of the Terminal of Uncertainty at Mt. Columbo and found the kids already gone.
With their speed, even riding a donkey might not have caught them.
“Damn, lucky brats!”
Breathless, they stood at the edge of Mt. Colubo, not pursuing further.
After a brief rest, they cursed and headed back to the Terminal of Uncertainty to continue their work.
The day I was passed like this.
The second and third days were the same.
However, Tang An didn’t reencounter Ace and his friends.
“Kill him.”
Back at the Terminal of Uncertainty, Tang An held a short sword, looking at a trembling thug on the ground. The thug had been unable to pay protection fees and was now targeted by Hilter.
“Cowards can’t stay on the Bluejam pirate ship.”
Hilter stood behind Tang An, holding a machete, making it clear that if Tang An didn’t kill the man, he would.
The light dimmed, and Tang An, gripping the short sword, hardened his gaze and struck. He didn’t hesitate long.
To be accepted by these pirates, he had to be as ruthless as they were.
He couldn’t be driven away.
He needed to use the Bluejam Pirates.
With blood and screams, Tang An wasn’t as uncomfortable as he had expected.
Blood foamed from the thug’s mouth, and after a few moments of struggle, he was dead.
Tang An withdrew the sword, his hands trembling slightly.
He felt a strange thrill, like a rush of adrenaline.
Following Hilter around the Terminal of Uncertainty, there were no more killings.
Returning to the pirate ship after a busy day, they had a visitor during dinner.
Tang An didn’t expect the plot to progress so quickly.
Sabo’s father came to hire Bluejam to capture Sabo.
This meant that by tomorrow or the day after, Bluejam would capture Ace and his friends, giving Tang An his chance.
But this chance came too quickly, catching him off guard.
His escape plan wasn’t ready yet.
But he couldn’t miss this rare opportunity.
Plans couldn’t keep up with changes, so he had to take a risk.
The night passed without incident, and the next day, Tang An didn’t follow Hilter out. Bluejam had ordered them to deal with Ace and his friends once and for all.
So, more than thirty pirates, led by Bluejam, headed to the Terminal of Uncertainty.
Tang An stayed inconspicuous in the background.
They ambushed the Terminal of Uncertainty, and around 11 a.m., the targets appeared.
“I wish I had binoculars.”
Luffy, face full of anticipation, emerged from the forest with Ace and Sabo.
“Why do you want binoculars?”
The three jumped off a small hill into the Terminal of Uncertainty, searching for materials.
“Forget binoculars, find materials. Our base needs repairs.”
Ace scowled, then began scavenging.
“Oh!”
Luffy responded listlessly.
“Let’s split up. I’ll go over there.”
Sabo pointed to a distant spot, and the three separated.
Not far away, Sabo’s eyes lit up, seeing a broken telescope.
“Isn’t this a telescope? Luffy will be happy.”
Picking up the damaged telescope, Sabo smiled.
“Hello, young master!”
“I didn’t expect one of the notorious troublemakers to be a noble.”
Pirates emerged from the surroundings, encircling Sabo. Bluejam, hands in pockets, strutted arrogantly towards him.
He hadn’t known Sabo was a noble until the previous night.
Tang An, holding his chipped short sword, narrowed his eyes.
“Bluejam, how did you find out?”
Sabo gripped his pipe, eyes darting around for an escape route.
“Don’t hurt him.”
At Bluejam’s command, a pirate lunged at Sabo. Sabo dodged effortlessly and kicked the pirate in the face.
Blood and teeth flew as the pirate was sent three to four meters back.
Standing nearly three meters tall and weighing over 200 pounds, the pirate was kicked three to four meters by a ten-year-old Sabo, losing his teeth.
Tang An’s eyelid twitched.
Sabo was only ten years old.
This world couldn’t be viewed through regular lenses, or you’d die without knowing how.
