Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 50
The sun rose, and the dawn broke through the horizon, signaling a new day.
Half a month ago, Tang An started pouring spinal fluid into the brewing bases of various wine merchants. Over the past two weeks, he had been observing secretly and noticed that these drinks, similar to beer, were already on the market.
He had targeted more than ten wine merchants in the past half month.
Now, a rough estimate suggested that many people within Wall Rose and Wall Sheena had the Beast Titan’s spinal fluid in their bodies.
Tang An only needed to transform into the Beast Titan and let out a roar from a high place. Anyone who had drunk the spinal fluid-laced drinks would turn into a mindless Titan.
Additionally, the seventh natural month reward dice was also due.
Everything was proceeding according to plan.
Tang An just needed to wait a little longer before he could act without restraint.
The fist-sized dice spun and jumped, the model plane crossed six spaces, and as the blinding light faded, an item appeared before Tang An.
“A mechanical keyboard.”
“Description: Comfortable, tactile, durable…”
Is this implying he should become an internet troll?
Lying on the comfortable bed in the inn, Tang An casually closed the light screen. It seemed that only with luck could he draw some good items. Other monthly reward dice only had a one-in-a-thousand chance of yielding something valuable.
Tang An wasn’t disappointed because he hadn’t hoped for much from the beginning.
“Hmm?”
As the light screen disappeared, Tang An suddenly frowned.
He noticed the bustling sounds from the street outside were gradually fading.
He had been staying here for ten days and knew that the street was usually noisy every morning.
Getting up and treading lightly to the window, Tang An was about to pull the curtain aside and check outside when a whistling sound suddenly shot towards him.
“Not good.”
“Boom… Boom!”
Grenades exploded, and Tang An’s room was instantly engulfed in flames. Immediately, a barrage of artillery fire came from all directions.
In just a moment, the entire inn was consumed by fire and reduced to rubble.
Surrounding the inn, the Survey Corps, Military Police, and Garrison Regiment were stationed on rooftops and streets, staring intently at the inn. Their faces were filled with fear and determination.
“Commander, could we have made a mistake?” Connie asked, equipped with ODM gear alongside Jean, Eren, Armin, and a serious-faced Erwin.
“Better to kill mistakenly than let go,” Erwin said, his gaze cold and unrelenting.
“Last time during the Female Titan operation, I saw Tang An get swatted away by the Female Titan. If he survived, there’s no reason he wouldn’t have returned to report. And how did he cross the distance between the Forest of Giant Trees and Wall Maria?” Eren’s face was calm, his eyes reflecting the blazing fire.
“If he’s alive, he’s definitely the Dark One,” Zhou Wei said, his eyes cold.
“Splash…!”
The entire inn burned. Suddenly, a figure emerged from the flames, standing in mid-air, surveying the surroundings.
“How is this possible…”
“How can he fly in mid-air?”
The surrounding soldiers, watching Tang An above the flames, gripped their blades tightly, their faces filled with shock.
Tang An, his body emitting black smoke, his white T-shirt and green beach shorts restoring themselves, looked at the surrounding Survey Corps members, narrowing his eyes as he focused on Erwin and the others.
“When did you discover me?” Tang An landed on a nearby rooftop, ignoring the trembling Garrison Regiment soldiers five meters away. His gaze remained fixed on Erwin, Zhou Wei, and the others.
“Yesterday, Sasha and I saw you from a distance in the street. At first, we thought we were mistaken, but it turned out to be you,” Jean said, his face dark, gripping his blade, his heart not at ease.
“So, what now?” Tang An spread his hands.
“Did you kill Mikasa and Captain Levi?” Eren asked, his voice trembling as he clenched his fists.
“Armin and the others were there. I said my target was the Armored Titan, but they insisted on fighting, so I had to oblige,” Tang An admitted. There was no point in hiding anymore.
“Is that so?” Eren was calmer than expected, not bursting into rage as he might have before.
“Tang An, did you take Annie’s Titan power and then kill Ymir, Reiner, and Bertholdt? Was that you as the Armored Titan fighting the Beast Titan at Wall Maria? And now, I suppose you’ve killed the Beast Titan too?” Armin asked, confident in his deduction.
“What’s your goal? Is it Eren as well?” Armin continued.
“Yes,” Tang An replied, a cigarette and lighter appearing in his hand. He lit the cigarette, took a drag, and nodded.
“Since you killed Reiner, you can’t be their ally. Why target Eren?” Armin asked, puzzled as he still didn’t understand Tang An’s motives.
“Because he’s after Eren’s Attack Titan and Founding Titan powers,” Zhou Wei said, watching Tang An’s cigarette and lighter appear out of nowhere, along with his restored clothes and flip-flops. He was now sure of Tang An’s identity.
“From your name, Zhou Wei, you should also be a successor of socialism. I think we’re from the same place. From the first time I saw you, I knew you were a reincarnator,” Tang An said, flicking his cigarette ash and addressing Zhou Wei directly.
“We are indeed from the same place,” Zhou Wei admitted, his expression blank.
“Since we’re from the same place, why not sit down and chat over a cup of tea? Meeting a fellow countryman in another world is a rare chance,” Tang An suggested with a smile.
“I don’t dare chat with you. You want to kill me too, don’t you? Dark One,” Zhou Wei said mockingly.
“What’s this Dark One?” Tang An frowned, sensing the need to understand what Zhou Wei meant.
“Stop pretending. You specialize in hunting chosen ones, transmigrators, and reincarnators… You’re a remnant virus in the multiverse, a Dark One,” Zhou Wei explained without hesitation.
This time, the main god space had only forbidden disclosing the existence of the main god space to the native world, along with the plot details.
There was no restriction on communicating with Dark Ones.
Besides, Zhou Wei believed Tang An was doomed today.
“Damn it.” Tang An cursed inwardly. His trashy golden finger was indeed trouble.
It was now clear that not only was he targeting reincarnators and transmigrators, but they were also targeting him.
His existence was known to others.
Tang An’s sense of security plummeted.
Initially, he thought he was in the dark, which gave him a sense of superiority. But now it seemed others were in the dark, too. While he hunted others, they were also trying to chase him.
Transmigrators were manageable, being individuals.
But reincarnators were different. They were organized with the main god-issuing missions. Reincarnators could exist in the multiverse, though it was unclear if there were other Dark Ones like him.
If he was the only one, he was doomed.
It meant the reincarnator organization potentially targeted him.
Tang An’s face turned extremely grim.
Though it was just a speculation, if it proved true, his journey ahead would be fraught with danger.
