Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 54
Night fell, and the starry sky was dazzling.
After a day of clearing out the Titans, the surviving soldiers were exhausted. Thankfully, all the mindless Titans had been killed.
But the damage they caused was immeasurable.
In both Wall Rose and Wall Sheena, the death toll was unknown, not to mention the property losses.
The walls were filled with wails of sorrow, and bodies were being collected everywhere.
Everyone was numb to the tragedy.
In the temporary headquarters of the Survey Corps, lights were burning brightly.
“Are you alright?” Erwin asked Zhou Wei, who was lying awake in bed.
Eren, Connie, and others were also present.
Zhou Wei’s combat prowess had been on full display during the day. Zhou Wei was the best candidate to fill the gap with Levi, who was dead.
The Survey Corps desperately needed Zhou Wei’s strength.
Despite the doubts surrounding Zhou Wei, Erwin had no other choice.
There needed to be more than just Eren and the Survey Corps to deal with Tang An.
Only with Zhou Wei could they hope to win.
Pale and devoid of blood, Zhou Wei shook his head and coughed, “I forcibly enhanced my strength today. I won’t be able to move for three days.”
“That serious? Tang An could strike at any moment,” Hanji said, adjusting her glasses, her face grim.
“I suspect he’ll come tonight,” Zhou Wei said, leaning against the headboard, his eyes cold.
As fellow countrymen, they both knew the tropes well.
“If it were me, I’d definitely attack tonight. It’s the best chance.”
Connie and the others were skeptical. “So soon?”
“He knows my condition,” Zhou Wei said with a strained smile.
They came from the same place, and everyone knew the tropes. If possible, he didn’t want to be enemies with Tang An.
“Since that’s the case, we’ll lay in wait,” Hanji said, pacing. “We must capture that guy.”
“Then let’s get ready,” Erwin said.
Everyone left the room, leaving Zhou Wei alone.
“You better not show up,” Zhou Wei muttered, gripping another Blood Burst Pill, his face twisted.
He was ready to fight to the end.
He had used up all his exchange points, and everything depended on this pill.
If he could complete his mission to protect the fate child from being killed by the dark one within six months and kill the dark one, he would earn 150,000 exchange points.
Then, he could exchange for a more robust constitution in the main god space, possibly breaking through to a higher level.
Clutching the Blood Burst Pill, Zhou Wei closed his eyes to rest.
He didn’t dare move, as even the slightest movement felt like being sliced by a thousand knives, the pain making it hard to breathe.
The night grew more profound.
At some point, a dark cloud obscured the starry sky.
A figure stood a thousand meters high, looking down thoughtfully at the brightly lit buildings below.
As Zhou Wei predicted, Tang An planned to attack tonight.
“Something’s not right!”
Seeing the heavily guarded buildings with many patrolling soldiers holding torches, Tang An wasn’t surprised by the security but by Zhou Wei.
As fellow countrymen, they both knew the tropes well.
“He must have guessed I’d attack.”
The more Tang An thought about it, the more likely it seemed. If it were him, he’d do the same.
The enemy was at their weakest now.
“I need to change my plan.”
Tang An initially intended to sneak in unnoticed, but if Zhou Wei anticipated his attack, traps would be waiting.
Entering that area might mean no escape.
During the day, the mindless Titans had distracted the Survey Corps, but now there were none.
Better safe than sorry.
If that’s the case, he’d just embrace his underhandedness fully.
“Humph!”
Tang An snorted. No matter the traps, it didn’t matter.
When it came to cunning and shamelessness, he could match anyone.
Tang An descended quickly.
900 meters.
800 meters.
600 meters.
500 meters.
Getting closer to the ground, Tang An didn’t hesitate to snap his fingers and cut his finger.
The sky thundered as golden lightning illuminated the night.
Tang An transformed into the Colossal Titan.
The sixty-meter-tall body descended like a meteor, surrounded by fire and steam, tearing through the air.
Once the Colossal Titan formed, Tang An leaped from its nape, using Moonwalk to float in the air.
His plan was simple: use the Colossal Titan as a meteor to crush everything below.
“Boom… boom…”
The Colossal Titan’s transformation was like a missile explosion.
The entire building complex was alarmed.
Armin and others ran out, their faces filled with fear as they saw the Colossal Titan plummeting.
“Damn, we didn’t expect he could turn into the Colossal Titan,” Hanji said, feeling a cold chill.
“Retreat… retreat!” Erwin shouted, his eyes wide and fury.
He didn’t expect Tang An to attack so openly, with such force.
This was deadly.
Zhou Wei was also carried out, looking at the falling Colossal Titan, which resembled a small volcano.
“This bastard, get me out of here!” Zhou Wei couldn’t stay calm, and panic set in.
This was the first time anyone had anticipated this move from Tang An. Their carefully laid traps were useless, leading to heavy losses instead.
“Oh no…”
“It’s too late.”
The Colossal Titan fell too fast. Just as everyone reached the courtyard, it crashed, causing an earthquake. The entire building complex vanished instantly.
The surrounding ground lifted, creating cracks, and intense heat and shockwaves swept through, leveling everything.
“Roar…”
Eren transformed into the Attack Titan at the critical moment, hardening his body with crystals to shield Erwin and the others.
But this only provided brief protection. Soon, the hardening shattered, and Armin, Connie, and the others were thrown back, bones broken and unable to move.
Zhou Wei was in even worse shape, his injuries exacerbated, nearly suffocating from the pain.
His face, once slightly flushed, turned pale again.
“Eren, Connie, Jean, Zhou Wei,” Armin coughed up blood, looking around.
The area was filled with steam, the temperature like an oven, skin burning.
“Boom…”
But it wasn’t over.
Golden lightning flashed in the sky, accompanied by a colossal roar. Another Colossal Titan’s body fell.
As long as Tang An had the stamina, he could keep transforming into the Colossal Titan, using its body as a weapon.
After all, Titan bodies materialized from nothing, which was quite mysterious.
It was fortunate Tang An had Moonwalk; with it, this strategy would work.
Many thought his golden finger was useless, but each item had its purpose. Some would shine later on, proving invaluable.
This golden finger wasn’t weak; its true power would reveal itself over time.
