Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 66
Muzan’s gaze turned cold as his caved-in chest returned to normal. He vanished from his original spot and reappeared in front of Tang An, his right foot adorned with three menacing, sharp mouths whistling through the air.
Tang An, enveloped in high-temperature steam and blood dripping from his mouth, maintained Thunder Breathing. He bent to dodge, ready to counterattack, but Muzan had a follow-up move.
Turning around, Muzan executed a second kick. Feeling the power behind it, Tang An didn’t block but flipped backwards twice to evade.
“Boom…”
The street cracked as Muzan’s violent presence appeared before Tang An, changing his expression.
No way to avoid it.
Tang An reacted quickly, hardening his arms to protect his abdomen. With a faint cracking sound, he spat blood and was launched into the sky like a cannonball.
As the wind howled past his ears, Tang An’s hands shook uncontrollably.
“Swish…”
The ground exploded as Muzan appeared above Tang An, bringing his foot down with a storm-like force.
Golden lightning fell, and the dilapidated street shook. Countless fragments shot out like bullets in all directions, dense dust obscured all vision, and a strong wind lifted the ground, creating a sizeable spider-web-like crack.
Mitsuri, evacuating the crowd, turned back, her face full of worry.
She needed to quickly get these people to safety and then help Tang An.
Unbeknownst to her, numerous Hashira had already received the message from the Kasugai crows and were rushing over at top speed.
At this moment, Muzan stood on the ground, watching the gradually dispersing dust with a mocking and cruel expression.
He couldn’t remember the last time he fought like this.
“Cough… cough…”
In a pit in the middle of the street, Tang An spat blood, his face pale.
Brushing off the rubble, he wobbled as he stood up, suppressing the pain and slowly walking out of the pit, high-temperature steam continuously emanating from him.
“This isn’t a power or regeneration capability that humans can have.”
Muzan looked at Tang An, filled with uncertainty. Though Tang An’s regeneration wasn’t as terrifying as his own, it was still beyond human capability.
“Enough talk. I haven’t had enough fun yet.”
Grinning with bloodstained teeth, Tang An gestured provocatively at Muzan.
The battle BGM had about a minute left. With the BGM’s boost, he could barely keep up with Muzan, though he was starting to fall behind.
When the BGM ended, he wouldn’t stand a chance.
“I will make you a demon.”
Muzan smiled wickedly, though his grin was chilling.
Disappearing from his spot, Tang An initiated the attack.
His right fist, hardened, clashed with Muzan’s. Muzan’s left hand suddenly sprouted razor-sharp claws, slicing toward Tang An’s head like lightning.
Faced with a deadly threat, Tang An urgently retreated, narrowly evading but still getting hurt.
Muzan’s right hand flashed, and with flesh flying, five deep, bone-revealing gashes appeared on Tang An’s left chest.
Even with hardening protection, his defence was breached.
Gritting his teeth, Tang An’s right foot continued its kick toward Muzan. Muzan was forced back a few steps with a dull thud, his face twisting into a ghastly expression.
“Swish…”
Invisible, Tang An raised his hands to guard his chest. The next second, Muzan’s kick landed squarely.
Tang An was sent flying, crashing through rows of buildings. His face covered in blood, he lay in the ruins, struggling to breathe as Muzan appeared above him, stomping down.
At the last second, Tang An evaded, the ruins rising with a gust of wind, leaving a ten-meter-wide pit under Muzan’s foot.
Tang An flipped and landed on the street, his chest heaving, his forehead covered in blood that trickled into his right eye. He didn’t have time to wipe it away because Muzan had vanished from the ruins.
The pressure of the wind approached, and Muzan appeared before him, his left hand’s five claws slicing through the air like a storm.
Tang An’s breathing was erratic, but he was prepared. He vanished from his spot just in time, reappearing behind Muzan in a Z-shaped flash. His right hand hardened into a spike, ready to strike.
But he aborted the attack and vanished again in an instant.
A black thorn-like whip slashed where he had been. If Tang An had continued his attack, he might have been cut in half.
“You dodged that?”
Muzan was surprised. The sneak attack had been undetectable.
Tang An’s face was grim, seeing thorny whips with sharp bone spikes rise from Muzan’s back.
“Swish!”
Tang An’s hand held the kukri knife.
Against other demons, the Nichirin Blade worked fine, but against Muzan, the Kukri was more effective.
Because the Nichiren Blade wasn’t as sharp and complex as the Kukri.
Except for the sun, there was no way to kill this guy.
Muzan looked at the crystalline kukri in Tang An’s hand, puzzled about how it appeared.
This guy had too many surprises.
“Thunder Breathing.”
Tang An leaned forward, holding the kukri knives in a reverse grip, his body radiating golden lightning and high-temperature steam.
Combining Thunder Breathing with Shave.
“Boom… boom…”
The ground cracked in circles under his feet, and a strong storm lifted the sand. Tang An’s hair stood on end, and his eyes, with purple diamond patterns, seemed to flash with lightning.
“Black Blood Thorns.”
Eight bone spikes shot through the air, forming shadows that densely covered the space between them, creating deep grooves wherever they passed.
“Instant Kill.”
In a booming sound, the time she seemed to slow. In a mere blink, Tang An crossed ten meters, appearing behind Muzan.
Fast, incredibly fast.
It’s like an actual lightning bolt.
“Spurt…”
Blood sprayed like a fountain. Muzan’s eight bone spikes were severed, and a deep gash appeared on his neck, blood gushing out.
But Muzan didn’t die. He grabbed his flying head with both hands, pressing it back onto his neck, and the flesh instantly reconnected.
“Thunder Breathing: Eight-Span Mirror.”
Amid the roaring, Tang An became lightning again, circling Muzan. From bottom to top, he rose, blood spurting from Muzan’s body.
In a brief moment, Tang An attacked eight times, slicing Muzan into pieces.
“Meteor.”
High in the sky, Tang An turned into a golden meteor, crashing down with destructive force.
The ground within thirty meters cracked and lifted. The powerful shockwave carried lightning, raising dirt and stones, destroying everything in its path.
The battle of BGM ended just then.
In the distance, Mitsuri rushed over.
Dense dust obscured the view, and as it cleared, a figure standing with its back to her appeared in Mitsuri’s anxious eyes.
It was Tang An.
Tang An, covered in steam, watched ahead. The golden armour and kukri were gone.
“Tang An, are you okay?”
Mitsuri remained alert, noticing Muzan was gone.
“I’m fine.”
Tang An bent over, spitting out the blood from his throat, his body feeling like a thousand needles pierced it. His internal organs were twisted, making it hard to breathe.
His legs were weak, twitching constantly.
After all, thunder, breathing and shaking enhanced his legs, which explained his incredible speed.
In this battle, he had given his all.
He had to admit that, even with the battle BGM’s boost, he wasn’t a match for Muzan.
Because he couldn’t kill him.
Especially with his recent attacks—Instant Kill, Eight-Span Mirror, and Meteor—they drained most of his strength. If Muzan hadn’t fled, he would have had to escape.
Muzan fled because several strong presences were approaching rapidly, and it was only two hours until dawn.
