- Chapter 70 - Golden Finger—Sixth Sense Similar to Observation Haki
In Mount Natagumo, Wang Xu had kept only four demons in the Rui family for the past year.
These included:
- “Father,” with Blood Demon Art: Strength Enhancement.
- “Mother,” with Blood Demon Art: Marionette Control.
- “Sister,” with Blood Demon Art: Dissolving Cocoon.
- “Brother,” with Blood Demon Art: Poison Spit.
Wang Xu had killed all the other demons because they were too weak. After crossing over and fully replacing Rui, he found that he could easily control the life and death of all demons in the spider family. However, his biggest concern was Muzan Kibutsuji, who could also quickly kill any demon.
Over time, Wang Xu discovered that perhaps due to his transmigration, he had become free from Muzan’s control. He couldn’t fully explain it, but it felt real. He could continue to grow stronger by training, even beyond Rui’s original powers.
For a whole year, Wang Xu never left Mount Natagumo. He continued to need human flesh, something he initially struggled to accept but quickly grew accustomed to because of its benefits in increasing his strength. This year, both his soul and heart had fully transformed into that of a demon.
Wang Xu’s tranquil life was disrupted a few days ago when a group of Demon Slayer Corps members invaded Mount Natagumo, followed by the appearance of Tanjiro Kamado and his companions. Wang Xu felt that consuming the “children of destiny” and other significant characters from the storyline would make him stronger. His ultimate goal was to consume Muzan and become the most powerful demon while overcoming the weakness of sunlight.
In essence, Wang Xu’s thoughts and objectives aligned with Tang An’s because he also knew the storyline. The only downside was that Wang Xu didn’t have a system or cheats, but he did possess a mutated intuition, or sixth sense, similar to Observation Haki from the world of One Piece. This sixth sense allowed him to clearly predict, perceive, and observe.
A wave of perception spread from Wang Xu, quickly covering the entire Mount Natagumo, creating a detailed mental map. He saw “Father” fighting Inosuke, “Mother” controlling the puppets fighting the Demon Slayers, with Tanjiro approaching her, “Brother” nearing a confrontation with Zenitsu, and “Sister” remaining inactive. The entire mountain was under Wang Xu’s control.
One hour earlier, an emergency report from a Kasugai crow interrupted the meeting at the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters.
“A Twelve Kizuki has appeared on Mount Natagumo. Requesting immediate assistance,” the crow announced, causing the near-concluded meeting to pause.
“Mitsuri, Shinobu, please head to Mount Natagumo,” Ubuyashiki Kagaya instructed.
“Yes,” Mitsuri and Shinobu replied, preparing to leave.
Tang An followed Mitsuri, being her adopted son. Outside, Kanao Tsuyuri, Shinobu’s disciple, awaited. In the original story, Shinobu and Giyu Tomioka went to Mount Natagumo, but this time Mitsuri replaced Giyu. Tang An knew his presence had altered the story. As expected, transmigrators were like viruses.
During the meeting, Kagaya suggested that Tang An become a Hashira, but Tang An refused. Thus, Shinobu, Kanao, Mitsuri, and Tang An headed swiftly to Mount Natagumo, racing against time to save as many Demon Slayers as possible.
“Found you,” Tanjiro muttered, leaping through the forest and spotting the demon controlling the puppet Slayers from atop a rock—a delicate-looking woman with long white hair, the supposed “mother” of the spider family. She panicked upon seeing Tanjiro.
“Water Breathing, Fifth Form: Blessed Rain After the Drought,” Tanjiro’s gentle technique aimed to decapitate the demoness, ensuring a swift end.
“Clang!” Sparks flew as a nearly invisible thread blocked Tanjiro’s blade, cutting it like tofu. He would have been sliced in half if not for his quick reflexes.
Rolling to the ground, Tanjiro gripped his broken blade, wary of the cold figure standing atop the threads above “Mother.” Wang Xu, standing on the threads, exuded a menacing aura that made Tanjiro’s skin crawl. He could barely perceive how Wang Xu appeared there.
“Sorry,” the demoness whimpered, kneeling in fear of Wang Xu.
Wang Xu, identical to Rui in appearance, maintained the same cruel demeanor. Despite minor differences over the past year, his brutal methods were consistent, driven purely by personal preference. Unlike Rui, Wang Xu didn’t care about playing house; he kept these demons around to capture humans for him.
Without a word, Wang Xu glanced at the demoness before vanishing and reappearing on the ground, startling Tanjiro into retreating.
Tanjiro saw only a blur before realizing the box containing Nezuko was gone. Turning, he saw Wang Xu standing five meters away, holding the box. Wang Xu’s sixth sense told him that consuming Nezuko would allow him to withstand sunlight, eliminating his last weakness.
Nezuko burst from the shattered box, her cute but furious appearance marked by her pink kimono and bamboo muzzle. She clawed at Wang Xu before retreating to Tanjiro’s side, her nails glinting dangerously.
“Nezuko, are you okay?” Tanjiro asked, gripping his broken blade.
Nezuko shook her head, eyes filled with hostility toward Wang Xu. She sensed his threat.
Behind them, the demoness remained kneeling, awaiting Wang Xu’s command.
