Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 71
“Whoosh!”
Facing the vigilant Tanjiro and Nezuko, Wang Xu’s right hand extended five almost invisible threads, sweeping towards them silently like falling leaves. The air seemed to split in two, let alone the trees in their path.
“Water Breathing, Fourth Form: Striking Tide.”
Tanjiro’s hair stood on end as he saw the five near-invisible threads. He tightly gripped his broken blade, launching a multi-stage attack to cut the threads, which were as sharp as swords. Despite their hair-like appearance, Tanjiro barely deflected one, quickly rolling on the ground to narrowly avoid them. A few strands of his hair fell to the ground, making him break out in a cold sweat.
Nezuko leapt high to evade the attack, then swiftly charged towards Wang Xu. Her right hand, now bloodied, struck out like a sword towards Wang Xu. This was Nezuko’s Blood Demon Art: Exploding Blood.
This technique allowed her blood to explode at will, producing high-temperature flames to burn her target. It had the unique property of only burning what she wanted, capable of disrupting an opponent’s Blood Demon Art or neutralising toxins. It could severely burn demons and temporarily prevent their regeneration. Another powerful aspect was that the flames produced by her burning blood could attach to a Nichiren blade, transforming it into a burning blade—an ochre blade.
Facing Nezuko’s attack, Wang Xu remained expressionless. At the critical moment, he spun on one foot, with his right leg extending the five threads, which swept across her.
“Slash…”
Nezuko couldn’t react in time and was instantly sliced into five parts, her blood spraying like a fountain as she collapsed to the ground.
“Nezuko!”
Tanjiro’s eyes widened in horror. Although he knew she wouldn’t die, being sliced into five pieces would make it difficult for her to heal quickly.
“Water Breathing, Tenth Form: Constant Flux.”
Swinging his broken blade, Tanjiro created a swirling water dragon around him. As he spun, the attack grew more robust with each rotation. But despite his effort, Wang Xu easily dodged left and right, avoiding all of Tanjiro’s strikes.
“Faster… I need to be faster.”
The water dragon continued to spin and thrash as Tanjiro’s anxiety grew. He had swung his blade over ten times but hadn’t touched Wang Xu.
“How can he be so fast?”
In a flash, Wang Xu’s right hand, intertwined with threads, grabbed the broken blade.
“Impossible.”
Tanjiro’s face stiffened as he saw his blade held motionless by the threads. Fear gripped him, and he couldn’t move quickly to avoid the next attack.
“Spurt…”
Tanjiro bent over, blood gushing from his mouth and nose. He was sent flying into the air.
Wang Xu retracted his leg and, with a motion, sent Tanjiro crashing to the ground, creating a spiderweb of cracks three meters wide. Tanjiro’s bones broke in numerous places.
Surrounded by dense threads forming a cone, Wang Xu lifted his right foot to crush Tanjiro’s head.
“Ah…”
Nezuko, who had just regenerated, screamed as her eyes turned blood-red, her face cracked, and a horn sprouted from her forehead. She became a blur, charging at Wang Xu to save Tanjiro.
“Nezuko, don’t.”
Tanjiro coughed up blood as he watched Wang Xu draw out white threads, their sharpness evident.
“Slash…”
Nezuko was split in two again, her blood and organs spilling onto Tanjiro. Her body parts hit the ground heavily.
“Nezuko.”
Tanjiro forced himself up, his body soaked in her blood, trying to reach her. His face showed desperation and fear.
“Hiss…”
The broken blade in his hand burned with flames, ignited by Nezuko’s blood.
“Hinokami Kagura.”
Feeling the heat from the blade, Tanjiro held back tears, charging at Wang Xu like a fierce tiger, a fiery dragon behind him.
“First Form: Dance.”
A dazzling light lit up the night sky. Tanjiro put everything into this attack, aiming to cut off Wang Xu’s head.
“Clang!”
The sound of metal clashing filled the air as the broken blade hit Wang Xu’s neck but couldn’t penetrate. Despite the fiery glow, Tanjiro couldn’t cut any more profound.
“Break, damn it!”
Tanjiro spat blood, shouting as he put all his strength into the strike. Wang Xu stood still, his expression unchanged. If one looked closely, they would see threads on Wang Xu’s neck, making it impossible for Tanjiro to cut through.
Wang Xu raised his hand, grabbing Tanjiro by the throat. The fiery blade extinguished, and Tanjiro’s face turned blue from suffocation.
“Beast Breathing, First Fang: Pierce.”
A roar came from the forest, and Inosuke, bloodied and injured, charged Wang Xu with his dual blades.
Having dealt with the Spider Father, Inosuke was in lousy shape but launched a desperate attack.
“Clang!”
Wang Xu’s hand, surrounded by threads, blocked Inosuke’s blades effortlessly. He didn’t even step back, his hair blown up by the wind.
Wang Xu’s cold eyes met Inosuke’s wild ones. There were no signs of the Lower Rank Five title in his eyes.
“Spurt…”
Simultaneously, Tanjiro and Inosuke were struck down, their chests caving in as they crashed through trees and hit the ground.
Wang Xu retracted his leg and walked towards Nezuko, intending to consume her.
“Nezuko.”
Tanjiro, spitting fragments of his organs, tried to reach Nezuko but couldn’t move.
Nezuko had regenerated but was too weak to move. Wang Xu coldly grabbed her by the hair and bit into her neck, drinking her blood. Her hot blood filled his mouth, burning like fire.
“Ah…”
Nezuko screamed in pain. Her blood was the source of her demonic power, and Wang Xu’s bite was agonising.
“Nezuko.”
Tanjiro cried out, crawling towards Wang Xu to stop him.
“Thunder Breathing, Instant Kill.”
A thunderous roar filled the forest as a golden flash sped towards Wang Xu, lifting the ground in its wake. A powerful shockwave swept through the area, throwing Tanjiro aside.
Wang Xu’s head snapped up, and Nezuko vanished from his grip.
Seven meters away, Tang An held Nezuko, his face stormy. Someone dared touch the woman he deeply loved, and Nezuko was crucial to his immortality.
