Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 73
“Love Breathing, Sixth Form: Cat-Legged Wind of Love.”
As Tang An and Wang Xu moved away, Mitsuri and Shinobu each launched attacks on the clones.
At first, they felt these two clones were as strong as the original, but as Wang Xu and Tang An got farther away, it was clear the clones were getting weaker.
Mitsuri twirled, her whip-like Nichirin Blade forming a tornado around the clone, shredding it. Meanwhile, Shinobu used Insect Breathing, and Kanao used Flower Breathing. The three of them had the upper hand against the two clones.
Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Inosuke watched on the sidelines, barely clinging to life.
Meanwhile, on the western side of Spider Mountain, Zenitsu was fighting Spider Brother, who was already infected with spider venom and on the verge of becoming a spider himself. A massive explosion erupted from the forest, followed by a golden flash of lightning that cut down trees and kicked up dust.
Spider Brother and Zenitsu turned instinctively. Two figures appeared out of nowhere in the sky and on the ground.
“Crack… sizzle…”
With a Nichirin Blade in one hand and a kukri in the other, Tang An, surrounded by golden lightning, looked up at Wang Xu standing on a thread in mid-air, his expression heavy.
Wang Xu looked down at Tang An, his hands occasionally twitching and manipulating threads.
Both Spider Brother and Zenitsu cowered, fearing they would be noticed, both feeling the oppressive aura.
In a flash of golden lightning, Tang An shot up, and Wang Xu descended from the sky.
The ground within a ten-meter radius formed a web of cracks. Buried in the soil, Tang An disappeared in a flash of lightning. Ten meters away, Wang Xu appeared without warning. The kukri and threads clashed, and both spat blood.
Wang Xu’s right foot, laced with threads, hooked down. Tang An only had time to block with the kukri.
A force storm erupted, driving Tang An to one knee, his face red. His right foot hardened and extended into the ground, creating a crystal spike that impaled Wang Xu through the chest.
Blood sprayed from Wang Xu’s mouth, clearly not expecting this ability from Tang An.
“Five-Colored Strings.”
Wang Xu spread his hands, his fingers forming beast claws with shimmering threads, attacking Tang An from both sides. At the critical moment, Tang An blocked the Nichiren Blade and the kukri, but the threads began cutting his back.
In an instant, Tang An’s entire body hardened. Amid sparks and blood, he kicked Wang Xu’s jaw, deforming his face.
But Wang Xu was relentless, slicing through Tang An’s left arm with a thin thread despite the hardening.
A powerful gust scattered debris, forcing Zenitsu and Spider Brother to cling to trees for dear life.
When the dust settled, Tang An was revealed.
His back bore five deep, bone-revealing wounds, and his left arm was severed at the shoulder. His body emitted high-temperature steam, and colourful five-coloured lines glowed around his bleeding wounds, showcasing the regenerative power of his Titan form.
Opposite him, Wang Xu’s pierced chest and jaw were rapidly healing, much faster than Tang An’s.
Tang An’s face was cold, but inside, he was heavy-hearted. Wang Xu was nearly as strong as Muzan Kibutsuji.
But the War BGM was still on cooldown, and Tang An wasn’t confident he could kill or capture Wang Xu.
The Nichirin Blade was useless against him unless it was upgraded to a red blade. But Tang An hadn’t mastered upgrading it, and the temperature increase was negligible, making it ineffective.
The inability to kill was the biggest problem.
Tang An became increasingly sure Wang Xu was from his world.
There was only one solution: drag it out until sunrise.
“This world doesn’t have someone like you. Who are you?”
Wang Xu stood on the ground, not attacking.
He needed to confirm something.
Tang An was silent, pondering whether to reveal the truth.
Whether he revealed it or not, they both knew.
“Looks like you’re a fellow traveler.”
Tang An chose to reveal it, hoping they could become friends. If they could, he might get the drop on Wang Xu later, increasing his chances of victory.
“China, Wang Xu!”
Wang Xu didn’t hide anything, straightforwardly stating his name.
“China, Tang An!”
Tang An was equally direct, then smiled broadly. “Since we’re from the same country, we should sit down for tea. Meeting a fellow countryman in another world is quite a fortune.”
“It is fortunate indeed. My sixth sense tells me that if I eat you, I’ll gain unexpected benefits.”
Wang Xu’s face remained indifferent at Tang An’s invitation.
“That’s meaningless. Being too arrogant will get you killed.”
Tang An’s eyes narrowed, his purple diamond-patterned eyes gleaming coldly.
Wang Xu wasn’t even trying to hide it.
“I can clearly sense the hostility from you. You want to kill me for what you want, and I want to kill you for what I want.”
Wang Xu was direct and calm.
“I thought I was hiding it well. Looks like that’s your cheat ability!”
Tang An felt increasingly troubled. This guy seemed more challenging than Zhou Wei.
His hidden thoughts were easily sensed, making even a fake friendship impossible.
Wang Xu said nothing more, his hands dropping threads and his aura increasing.
“Boom…”
Almost simultaneously, the two collided like racing trains, causing a mountain-shattering explosion.
Among the steep mountains, Wang Xu wildly swung his thread-connected hands at Tang An, who defended with both blades.
From a high vantage point, a golden lightning bolt flashed around the entire Spider Mountain, with Tang An pushing Thunder Breathing to the limit.
Combined with Soru, his speed was approaching supersonic, yet Wang Xu kept up.
Tang An was holding back, planning to stall until dawn.
He had no other options.
He couldn’t kill Wang Xu, and his speed, regeneration, and attacks were on par or superior to his.
This was the worst situation.
The closer it got to dawn, the better Tang An’s chances.
Tang An wasn’t in a hurry.
There were three hours until dawn.
“Rat-tat-tat…”
Since he was stalling, Tang An decided to use all his tricks.
The kukri disappeared, replaced by a Gatling gun, which he unleashed on Wang Xu.
When Tang An pulled out the Gatling gun, Wang Xu’s face showed a hint of surprise.
But facing the hail of bullets, Wang Xu remained unfazed, weaving through the barrage with ease.
This darkened Tang An’s expression.
He moved in for close-quarters fire, but Wang Xu kept his distance, retreating when Tang An advanced and closing in when he retreated.
Not only did Tang An have a Gatling gun, but Wang Xu also had countermeasures.
“Bullet String.”
While moving, Wang Xu formed his hands into a gun shape, rapidly firing thread bullets.
Trees and rocks were effortlessly pierced.
Caught off guard, Tang An’s shoulder took a hit, leaving a bloody hole.
“Did you eat the String-String Fruit?”
Tang An’s face twisted.
The more he watched, the more he was convinced Wang Xu had Do flamingo’s String-String Fruit abilities.
It wouldn’t be surprising if the dodging skills amid the bullet storm were from Observation Haki.
Could Wang Xu have also visited the One Piece world?
