Reincarnated in One Piece - Chapter 75
“Love Breathing.”
“Insect Breathing.”
“Flower Breathing.”
Following Tang An’s suggestion, Mitsuri, Shinobu, and Kanao used their sword techniques to destroy the clouds on either side.
Sure enough, as the clouds dispersed, Wang Xu’s figure slowed down.
“It worked,” Tanjiro noted, observing that Wang Xu was now suspended in the air, no longer pursuing them.
“Phew… that was terrifying,” Zenitsu sighed in relief, tears and snot streaming down his face.
“Keep dispersing the clouds around us until dawn,” Tang An instructed, glancing at the sky. They just needed to hold out a bit longer.
“Understood,” Mitsuri nodded, earnestly following Tang An’s proposal.
After about twenty minutes, Tang An’s breathing became labored, and suddenly, everyone began to plummet from the sky. Screams filled the air as they all braced for impact.
“Boom…”
At the critical moment, Tang An’s feet hit the ground with a crash, and everyone landed safely, though not without a few bruises.
“I thought we were goners,” Zenitsu cried, dirt-covered and trembling.
“Nezuko,” Tanjiro, pale and bloodless, checked on his sister, who had fallen into a deep sleep.
“Is everyone okay?” Tang An asked, unceremoniously sitting on the ground, exhausted.
Sweating profusely, he was nearly at his limit.
Mitsuri gently wiped the sweat from Tang An’s face.
“It’s almost dawn. We should be safe now,” Tang An panted, his face pale.
“Let’s head back to the Butterfly Estate. We need to report this to the master,” Shinobu suggested, noticing a Kasugai Crow approaching from a distance.
The group made their way to the Butterfly Estate. Mitsuri thoughtfully carried Tang An on her back, which he didn’t refuse, enjoying the ride.
Tanjiro, Inosuke, Zenitsu, and Nezuko weren’t as fortunate, being carried by Shinobu and Kanao.
As the sun began to rise, they reached the Butterfly Estate. Everyone was placed in the treatment room, and Shinobu prepared some nutrient solutions.
Lying in bed, Tang An quickly fell asleep, the fastest way to recover his strength.
After preparing the nutrient solutions, Shinobu and Mitsuru reported to the Demon Slayer Corps headquarters, leaving Kanao and four attendants to care for the patients.
Flashback to a Few Hours Earlier
Mt. Natagumo.
A beautiful woman with six hairpins on her head, floral tattoos on her face, and “Upper Six” etched into her eyes stood in a large pit. She wore a revealing outfit with patterned shorts and long plum blossom socks. Brushing her black hair aside, she scoffed.
She was too late.
There was no sign of Lower Rank Five, Rui.
This beautiful woman was Upper-Rank Six, Daki, sent by Muzan Kibutsuji to retrieve Rui.
The world didn’t know that Daki was a twin demon. Her brother was the true Upper-Rank Six.
Frustrated by her failed mission, Daki had no choice but to leave as dawn approached.
At the Headquarters
Mitsuri and Shinobu reported the events at Mt. Natagumo to Kagaya Ubuyashiki. His smile faded as the gravity of the situation set in.
“Tang An really said this demon is more terrifying than Muzan Kibutsuji?”
“Yes,” Mitsuri and Shinobu confirmed, both looking serious. Shinobu was now convinced that Tang An indeed had the strength of a Hashira.
“What do you think?” Kagaya asked the two women.
“The demon’s Blood Demon Art is formidable. It can create identical clones whose strength matches the original when they’re close,” Shinobu assessed.
“So, he could potentially make a third or fourth clone?”
“Yes.”
“Did his eyes have any markings of Upper or Lower Rank?”
“No.”
“…..”
In the Mountainous Wilderness
Wang Xu stood in the shadows, pondering the sunlight outside. His sixth sense told him that after absorbing Nezuko’s blood, he could start to adapt to sunlight, though it would be painful.
Trusting this almost supernatural sixth sense, Wang Xu rested until he was at his peak. Then, he extended his left hand into the sunlight.
“Hmph!”
Wang Xu grunted in pain, his face contorting as his hand began to burn, flesh melting away to reveal the bone.
Biting down hard, Wang Xu endured the excruciating pain for two hours until only a skeletal hand remained.
Completely exhausted, Wang Xu watched as his hand slowly regenerated. He grinned savagely.
The regeneration was slow, and full recovery took four to five days. This was just one arm; transforming his whole body would take one to two months.
Although tempted to expose his entire body to sunlight, Wang Xu’s sixth sense warned him of the danger, advising a gradual approach.
He wasn’t reckless.
Once he conquered sunlight, he’d be unbeatable. After that, he planned to devour Muzan Kibutsuji, Tanjiro, and others, including his fellow traveler Tang An, hoping for unexpected benefits.
The Butterfly Estate
By early afternoon, Tang An woke up. Sitting in bed, he saw Tanjiro, Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Nezuko asleep in adjacent beds.
Tang An’s eyes flickered with thoughts of eliminating these pivotal characters.
With Wang Xu targeting him, Tang An felt less secure. Killing Tanjiro and the others might yield something valuable.
Yet, killing them could jeopardize Nezuko’s chance to adapt to sunlight, which is crucial for Tang An’s immortality plans.
Torn, Tang An deliberated.
The treatment room was quiet, save for their breathing.
After a minute of contemplation, Tang An’s eyes hardened.
When had he become so indecisive?
Immortality can be achieved in many ways. The next world might hold the answer.
Resolved, Tang An’s face turned expressionless as he approached Tanjiro with a knife.
Sleeping soundly, Tanjiro’s nose twitched, sensing danger. His eyes snapped open.
But before he could react, Tang An covered his mouth and slashed his throat, decapitating him.
The smell of blood filled the room as Tanjiro’s wide eyes reflected disbelief and terror.
Tanjiro’s keen sense of smell could discern emotions and threats, a skill honed to detect weak points in battle.
He had sensed danger from Tang An at their first meeting but dismissed it after Tang An saved everyone.
He never expected…
