Reincarnation Paradise - Chapter 937
In the hall, Alice’s doppelganger stood on a high platform, smiling at everyone.
“Thank you all for your efforts. Alice enjoyed this game immensely and has formed a deep friendship with all of you.”
Alice’s smile remained gentle, but after this game, everyone knew she was a scheming manipulator.
“So happy, so incredibly happy,” the little detective gritted her teeth.
“Oh dear, we shared such intimate moments, don’t look at me with such a scary gaze.”
Whoosh—
Alice’s doppelganger disappeared from her original spot. At the same time, Su Xiao grasped the handle of Dragon Flash, drawing it slightly.
Alice reappeared beside the little detective, sitting on the sofa next to her, pulling her into a hug.
“Help me~” The little detective instantly cowered, pleading for help.
“So scary. Alice doesn’t like your gaze,” Alice said while holding the little detective, glancing at Su Xiao. A golden aura emanated from her, rushing towards Su Xiao.
Su Xiao’s eyes narrowed, activating his aura release ability.
Whoosh!
A faint red aura surged from Su Xiao, clashing with Alice’s golden aura. The smell of blood filled the air.
Snap, snap, snap…
The two auras collided, causing a series of cracking sounds as if firecrackers were going off in the room.
The two auras corroded each other. Pipa leapt back, Golden Glasses Man stepped back several times, cold sweat on his face, while the three National Soccer brothers conjured energy hammers.
“It’s a pity I didn’t kill you earlier,” Alice’s doppelganger continued smiling gently. The little detective, feeling Alice’s boiling killing intent, swallowed nervously.
“The howl of a defeated dog,” Su Xiao’s black hair floated despite the absence of wind, his gaze fixed on Alice’s doppelganger.
Crack, crack, crack…
Cracks appeared on the furniture in the hall. Noticing this, Alice’s doppelganger retracted her aura. Su Xiao’s aura surged forward, but Alice’s doppelganger remained unfazed. The little detective, however, struggled to handle both Alice’s and Su Xiao’s auras.
“Two games remain. Good luck,” Alice left a false-hearted “good luck” and walked to one side of the hall. She tapped her finger on the wall, and with a rumble, a secret door opened, revealing a stone staircase leading up. This was the way to the fourth floor.
Alice ascended the stairs, her gentle smile vanishing once her back was to Su Xiao and the others. A scene played in her mind.
If one could read Alice’s memories, one would find this one from many years ago, so long ago that Alice had forgotten the exact date.
In her memory, on a planet in the void, in front of a long-distance teleportation array.
The teleportation array was intricately inscribed with runes, rarely used as it led to the Void Platform, a half-abandoned execution platform of an ancient kingdom.
Beside the teleportation array was a large iron cage, resembling a dog cage but used to imprison powerful canine-like creatures.
A woman, her body wrapped in a tattered cloth bag with only her head exposed, lay inside the cage. Her once-golden hair was dull, and her eyes were filled with despair. She lay naked inside the cage, her face covered in dirt, clearly caught after a long escape.
Clank, clank.
Metal boots echoed as a woman in tight black clothing, a long knife at her waist, walked over. Her aura was incredibly sharp, her eyes keen and cold.
Hearing the metal boots, the woman in the cage curled up, instinctively letting out a low whimper, her voice choked with sobs.
The black-haired woman sat on the cage, crossing her legs. At her ankle was a sharp circular saw.
Pulling at her tight clothing, the black-haired woman complained, “Damn Arrosa, made this suit so tight.”
She pulled out a small notebook, bloodstains faintly visible on its cover.
“Alice Angelia, likes making castles from others’ bones, fused with the Seventeenth Magic Network, disrupted the elemental balance of three planets, causing two to collapse and one to be half-abandoned. Guess I’ll hang you. The next stop is the Void Platform anyway.”
The black-haired woman leaned over the cage, her legs spread, looking at the trembling Alice.
“You… you Shadows of Extinction have killed countless people. Why do you meddle in others’ affairs?”
Gathering her courage, Alice managed to speak.
“Oh? Really? Hahaha, if you were just killing people, no one would care. Even if you killed billions, to us Shadows of Extinction, that’s a personal hobby. But disrupting elemental balance is different. Do you know what maintains the existence of the void? Elemental balance, the power of law, and the power of stars. Forget it, you won’t understand. Just know that I don’t like you and want to kill you. Shadows of Extinction don’t need reasons.”
The black-haired woman straightened up, kicking the cage. Alice shuddered in fear.
“I… I was wrong. I’ve cut off the Magic Network. I can work for you, just don’t kill me.”
“Oh?”
“You agree?”
Alice was overjoyed.
“No, just decided to hang you. It’s convenient,” the black-haired woman said nonchalantly.
Alice was utterly despairing. The Shadows of Extinction were notorious madmen in the void, not listening to explanations.
“One day, I will build my castle and make you feel my current despair!”
Alice suddenly shouted, but the black-haired woman remained unmoved. Female Shadows of Extinction were rare, extremely so.
“Hey! I’m talking to you. You can kill me but don’t ignore me!”
“Oh, building a castle? That sounds like a certain demon I know. He built his castle and became a pseudo-god there. But you, stuck in this cage, should think about killing me first. By the way, what’s your favourite colour?”
Alice was puzzled by the last question.
“I like… gold.”
“Then I’ll hang you with a golden rope. I’m very considerate, right?”
“Not at all.”
Bang!
The black-haired woman kicked the cage again.
“Beg me, and I might not kill you.”
“Please, let me go.”
“Hahaha, just kidding. How does it feel to be toyed with? Like you toy with others. Nice, right?”
The black-haired woman picked up the cage, and Alice was utterly hopeless.
Whoosh—
A meteor with a red tail flew towards them, its diameter several kilometres.
“Qinggang·Sha.”
The black-haired woman stepped on the ground, releasing a pale blue energy.
Boom!
The meteor shattered in the sky. Simultaneously, the black-haired woman drew her long knife and tossed the cage aside. For the incoming enemy, Alice was a minor character.
A piece of the shattered meteor flew towards Alice’s cage, but the black-haired woman ignored it.
The memory ended there. Alice’s doppelganger stood on the stone steps, smiling warmly.
“Brave heroes, the fourth game is about to start. Follow me. Compared to the third game, the fourth will surprise you even more. By the way, it’s a survival competition with high freedom, and Alice will also participate. I’m looking forward to it.”
