Soul Land: Power Of Space - 11. You Make Me Feel Sick
The plot has undergone some changes, albeit minor ones. Specifically, the dialogue has been altered. Tang San and Xiao Wu still found themselves in a confrontation with Dai Mubai.
Lu Yuan gently touched the soft black hair of the kitten and couldn’t help but curse:
“Is this the powerful inertia of the plot? The butterfly effect didn’t happen after all or maybe it’s because my butterfly has been active in the Star Dou Forest for six years. It’s well-known that afforestation can effectively block wind and sand.”
Zhu Zhuqing released her grip on Lu Yuan’s clothes and wiped the corners of her eyes. She said, “Let me go. I’ve calmed down.” Lu Yuan loosened the hold he had on Zhu Zhuqing’s waist.
Suddenly, under the shocked gazes of Lu Yuan, Tang San, Xiao Wu, and everyone in the hall, Zhu Zhuqing approached Dai Mubai and slapped him hard. Dai Mubai was taken aback by the unexpected slap. He wondered, ‘What’s going on? Was that a sneak attack?’
Dai Mubai carefully observed the girl in front of him. With her black hair, black eyes, and cool temperament, could she be his fiancée from the Star Luo Empire? Dai Mubai felt his scalp tingle, and he quickly asked, “What’s your name?”
A trace of disdain appeared in Zhu Zhuqing’s eyes as she walked away without saying a word. This disdain only confirmed Dai Mubai’s suspicion of her identity. He took a step forward and grabbed Zhu Zhuqing’s wrist, pleading, “Give me a chance to explain, Zhu Zhuqing!”
“Let go!” Zhu Zhuqing’s eyes turned cold, and she sternly shouted. Dai Mubai hesitated for a moment, then slowly released his grip on her wrist. “Zhuqing, listen to me explain,” he pleaded. Zhu Zhuqing sneered,
“Explain what? Explain why you came here with them?”
She pointed her slender finger at the pair of siblings standing behind Dai Mubai.
Dai Mubai nodded, then realized something was amiss and quickly shook his head. “Zhuqing, listen to my explanation. They and I are really just ordinary friends of the opposite sex.”
“Friends?” Zhu Zhuqing repeated, almost laughing at Dai Mubai’s shamelessness. If she thought Lu Yuan had been shameless all along, then her fiancé’s level of shamelessness started at a hundred and had no upper limit. She sarcastically remarked,
“So, an ordinary friend of the opposite sex can accompany you to a place like this. It seems it really ordinary!”
Looking at Dai Mubai in front of her, Zhu Zhuqing’s eyes revealed a trace of disappointment and disgust. It wasn’t because he had been unfaithful to their engagement. Being from the Duke’s family of the Star Luo Empire, Zhu Zhuqing knew that powerful spirit masters often had multiple partners, although most of them refrained from such behavior.
As their strength grew, their standards for choosing partners became higher. It was like not settling for a mere monkey. If Dai Mubai truly stood out, it was almost inevitable that he would attract equally outstanding female spirit masters. Zhu Zhuqing had mentally prepared for this possibility long ago.
After all, the position of the Star Luo Empire’s empress for the successive empresses of the Zhu family didn’t depend on a love that exceeded everything but rather on the unique martial spirit fusion skill of the Zhu family and the Dai family—the Nether White Tiger.
As long as they possessed this trump card, the position of empress would always belong to the Zhu family, assuming the Dai family maintained its status as the royal family of the Star Luo Empire. What disappointed and disgusted Zhu Zhuqing was that her fiancé, Dai Mubai, had sunk so low. Losing his heart was one thing, but Dai Mubai had reached a level of depravity that even the current Emperor Xingluo couldn’t save.
Even if Star Luo’s emperor could bolster Dai Mubai’s spirit power with abundant resources, it was pointless if Dai Mubai lacked the courage to admit his actions. Strength alone didn’t define the powerful; it was the unwavering self-confidence, indomitable willpower, and relentless determination that set them apart. Thus, the royal struggles of the Star Luo Empire were filled with countless instances of stunning comebacks.
“Do you know what? You make me sick!” Zhu Zhuqing’s disgusted expression deeply wounded Dai Mubai’s sensitive heart. His face turned livid, and an inexplicable anger surged within him, as if someone had made an extremely shameful remark. He roared as he points at Lu Yuan, “What right do you have to judge me?. Didn’t i just see you hugging him when I walked in?. If I’m disgusting to you, then isn’t he equally disgusting? Or does he smell nice?”
Zhu Zhuqing’s long eyelashes trembled as she stared at the unsightly Dai Mubai. “Is this how you see me?” she asked.
“Yes! What’s wrong with what I said?” Dai Mubai snapped back.
“Of course, it’s wrong,” Lu Yuan intervened, lightly patting Dai Mubai’s shoulder. Tang San looked astonished, wondering how the young man had appeared there.
He hadn’t noticed any movement, even with his Purple Demon Eye. One moment, the young man was standing there, and the next moment, he had silently appeared behind “Master Dai,” as if he had vanished into thin air and reappeared just as mysteriously.
Even without considering the terrifying speed that allowed him to easily defeat everyone in the hall, including Tang San, who couldn’t even discern his actions, the young man’s ability to manipulate his movements suggested an agility attack system.
Tang San, a control system spirit master, knew that agility attack system spirit masters were the natural enemies of support system and control system spirit masters due to their explosive power, incredible speed, and special means of displacement.
Support system spirit masters typically lacked self-defense abilities, and control system spirit masters were often at a disadvantage in close combat. The young man’s words only added to Tang San’s suspicions.
“I didn’t wear any perfume, so why would there be a smell?” Lu Yuan said with a smile. “If you don’t believe me, you can smell me.”
Dai Mubai’s pupils contracted, and he instinctively threw an elbow behind him. “Be careful!” Zhu Zhuqing subconsciously warned. Lu Yuan stood still as if he intended to bear the full force of the elbow. Dai Mubai’s eyes gleamed with satisfaction, but his joy was short-lived.
He watched in helplessness as his arm passed through the young man’s body and collided with the front desk, producing a painful sound.
“How is that possible!” Dai Mubai exclaimed, joined by Tang San, Xiao Wu, and even Zhu Zhuqing, all wearing expressions of disbelief. Tang San’s gaze flickered as if searching for some clue.
If the young man had evaded the elbow strike with his incredible speed, Tang San wouldn’t have been surprised.
However, the young man had simply stood there, neither dodging nor attempting to block the attack. It was as if he had no physical presence, allowing the elbow to pass through him making everyone feel an inexplicable sense of fear.
