Soul Land: Power Of Space - 49. A Crushed Man-faced Demon Spider
Two days later.
“Stop,” Guimei commanded, waving his hand, and the elite team immediately shifted into a defensive formation.
Normally, the logical sequence would be to switch to a battle formation first and then adjust accordingly based on the specific situation. Unfortunately, there was a member of the golden generation amongst them.
Consequently, the spirit masters had no choice but to forcefully switch to a defensive formation to prevent any accidental harm to the three individuals.
Guimei gestured with his eyes.
“Old Ghost, you’re quite skilled at provoking people,” Yueguan remarked.
A gust of fragrant wind blew by, and the afterimage slowly dissipated.
Yueguan’s figure reappeared, already a hundred meters away.
Ghost furrowed his brow tightly, suppressing the urge to sneeze. He was very familiar with his old partner. Sharp-tongued but kind-hearted.
Despite the complaints, he would never hesitate when it came to taking action. Ghost had no worries about letting Yueguan scout ahead.
Of course, that was only possible because the Spirit Hall had such resources. Not to mention having two Titled Douluos as team leaders, they were even willing to let one of them explore the path.
No other force would find such luxury extravagance.
“Alright, it’s fine. Come here,” Yueguan sent a message to Ghost in annoyance. He frowned upon seeing the messy scene and waved his finger in the air, as if trying to disperse the odor.
Red, green, purple, and white wet marks, shattered and deformed carapaces, teeth scattered everywhere, and five dimmed and lifeless eyes.
Even for Yueguan, a Titled Douluo who always cherished elegance, this grotesque scene was a first-time experience. Not to mention Ghost and the members of the elite team who followed behind, witnessing such an unsightly sight.
According to common sense, the conflicts between spirit beasts were mainly for courtship or predation. Therefore, such fragmented scenes rarely occurred in battles between spirit beasts because if it was a battle between a spirit master and a spirit beast, such scene wouldn’t exist.
When spirit masters won, they would often kill the spirit beast with a single blow and absorb its spirit ring.
If the spirit beast won, it would only consume the spirit master and then find a place to digest it, thus increasing its own lifespan. After all, the pure spirit power left in the body of a spiritmaster was a great supplement for many spirit beasts.
The unpleasant scene in front of them looked more like throwing the surrounding environment, along with this unfortunate spider, into a blender specially designed for feed.
Yueguan’s eyes twitched uncontrollably, as if trying to hide his disgust. On the other hand, Guimei calmly walked forward and observed carefully.
“It’s a Demon Spider,” Ghost declared, picking up the eyeballs from the ground and examining the lines on the broken carapace.
Despite the Man-faced Spider being heavily damaged, with its head and body shattered into pieces, it was relatively simple for a Titled Douluo to identify the spirit beast’s species from the clues.
Guimei handed the carapace to Yueguan for him to take a look, but she gave him a disgusted look in return.
Ghost silently glanced at the dark golden light armor glove on Yueguan’s hand, dropped the carapace helplessly, and couldn’t help but think to himself, “It’s not like touching it with your own hands, why be so repulsed?”
“If you’re done looking, let’s go!” Yueguan urged Ghost, clearly not wanting to linger in that place any longer.
Ghost nodded in agreement, waved his hand, and the elite team reorganized into their original formation, following behind them.
It was none of their business. They were not responsible for what happened there, so why bother investigating it?
Spirit beasts killing other spirit beasts had nothing to do with them. And when a spirit master killed a spirit beast, it was only natural. Though the scene was unsettling, they didn’t need to pay for the redecoration.
Boom!
A violent explosion resonated in the distance, startling the birds in the forest.
Yueguan looked up and glanced in the direction of the sound, astonishment filling her eyes. She quickly retrieved the map compiled by the Spirit Hall from her spirit tool.
This small map was an accurate one that the Spirit Hall had invested a significant amount of money into. It marked the boundaries between safe routes and areas populated by spirit beast groups.
Unlike maps purchased from the outside world, this map even indicated the locations of each spirit beast group, with an error margin of less than ten miles.
The cost of creating such a map was unimaginable.
Yueguan’s dark golden nails landed on the map, and he nodded heavily, muttering under her breath, “Which blind idiot did this?”
That’s right, Hu Liena’s fourth spirit ring was ahead. The problem was, such a loud noise meant that either a fight had occurred or something had happened.
Yueguan wasn’t concerned about whether the spirit beast was dead or alive.
What worried her was the possibility of the spirit beast group scattering. If they dispersed, who knew how long it would take to track them down again?
Sneaking a glance at the gloomy Ghost next to her, Yueguan silently retracted the angry words she had been about to say.
Obviously, Ghost didn’t know.
She put the map back into the spirit guide and quickly gave the order: “Hurry up and get to the destination as fast as possible!”
They needed to deal with Hu Liena’s spirit ring first, and then they could free up their hands to deal with Xie Yue’s spirit ring.
After all, Xie Yue’s spirit ring was located farther away than Hu Liena’s. The drawback of hastening their march was a decrease in combat effectiveness.
Due to the high consumption of spirit power during a rapid march, it was nearly impossible to maintain their full combat power.
Fortunately, they had the assurance of two Titled Douluos, Ju and Gui, to rely on.
Far away…
Boom!
Lu Yuan held a silver ball of light about half his height and pressed it against the Man-faced Demon Spider’s two sharp claws.
The blast caused the claws to bend apart.
The intense pain made the spider emit a pained roar, its eyes glowing red as it opened its mouth wide and lunged towards Lu Yuan.
But then…
It was immediately sent flying by an even larger ball of light.
The armor shattered, and the four left spider eyes were completely obliterated by the powerful impact.
The Man-faced Demon Spider, now devoid of vision on its left side, could only shake its head, hoping to catch a glimpse of its blind spot and attempt to fight back.
Unfortunately, there was no “then.”
Standing indifferently in the spider’s blind spot, Lu Yuan condensed another ball of light in his hand and fiercely hurled it!
“Stop!” An old voice came from afar, filled with urgency.
Lu Yuan’s eyes flickered briefly, but he continued his actions without pause.
Boom!
Another explosion resounded.
Three rasengan were enough to directly kill a thousand-year-old Man-faced Demon Spider. It consumed much less energy compared to space cutting.
Lu Yuan’s eyelids drooped slightly as he slowly lowered his palm.
“If it were under normal circumstances, you could ask politely, and I might stop if I feel like it. But it’s different now. You can’t even say ‘please’ and expect me to stop?”
A burst of powerful silver spirit power, mixed with a crimson aura of killing intent, overwhelmed the Meng Chao and Meng Yiran.
Meng chao swung her staff forcefully, unleashing a powerful surge of spirit power that halted Meng Yiran in his tracks.
The young boy turned his head, a half-smile on his face as he looked at the Snake Woman and Meng Yiran.
“What kind of creature are you? Are you worthy of giving me orders?”
