Summoner of the Fairy Tail - Chapter 264
Originally, Calvin was already troubled by the impending disaster, and his mood had been very bad and anxious.
To allow his companions to enjoy the lively celebration of the Grand Magic Games, he didn’t plan to tell anyone about Future Lucy. He intended to quietly solve the problem by himself.
This idea stemmed from a sense of responsibility that had emerged since his increase in power.
He hoped to handle everything on his own, ensuring that everything returned to normal afterward, so everyone could happily go back to Magnolia without any issues.
Why was he under such pressure? It was to protect his friends. But seeing Minerva blatantly exploiting the rules to severely torment and beat Lucy in front of him made him furious.
He was close to losing his sanity from anger.
Calvin used to be a calm person, but after being imprisoned in darkness for seven years, his rapid increase in power, and the pressure from the looming catastrophe, he had long lost his former composure.
He was like a volcano on the brink of eruption, needing only a small trigger.
Minerva’s actions were undoubtedly the spark that set off that volcano.
The extent of Calvin’s power when fully unleashed was something even he didn’t know. Since leaving the Soul Habitat, he hadn’t fully mobilized his magic.
When he was confined by the Seven Deadly Sins, his summoned beasts had their limits, so his magic couldn’t be fully utilized. Most of his magic was used to maintain the operation of the Altar of Evil. Otherwise, it wouldn’t have been so easy for Fairy Tail to defeat the Seven Deadly Sins.
The Magic Seed given by Calvin Lucifer, after maturing, brought Calvin almost the entire magic power of Edolas. Even though Edolas’s magic was depleting, the remaining magic concentrated in one person was unimaginably vast.
Did people think that the magic crystal formed by all of Fairy Tail crashing into the Exceed island could provide infinite magic? Infinite magic isn’t that simple; it was just a desperate struggle. Calvin Lucifer knew this, which is why he planned to take over Calvin’s body.
Even after the Magic Seed turned into a towering tree, it didn’t mean it was fully grown. As long as it existed within Calvin, it continued to grow.
Only when it completely disappeared would it have fulfilled its mission? That’s when Calvin could truly wield the magic of a world.
But even now, Calvin’s unleashed magic was already terrifying enough, its deterrent effect leaving no room for resistance.
The Magic Seed’s emitted magic was absorbed by Calvin, simultaneously expanding his magic source. So, even if he consumed that magic, it was easily replenished.
Seven years of having his magic constantly drained maximized Calvin’s magic source.
Calvin gently raised his hand towards the Sabertooth members, the intent to attack clear. But they couldn’t move, paralyzed by fear.
They could already see their impending deaths.
“Enough, Calvin, don’t be rash.” It was Erza who stopped him, pressing down on his arm despite the pressure, her face heavy with concern.
“Killing them here will bring us countless troubles.”
“Don’t worry. Neither the Council nor the Kingdom of Fiore would dare do anything. If they did, they’d be the next to perish. I have that power,” Calvin replied, expressionless.
“So you want us to live under the label of a dark guild? Are you going to betray Master and the First’s expectations?” Erza roared, filled with both grief and anger.
“Calvin, once you make a mistake, there’s no turning back.” Another person held Calvin, it was Mirajane, who had rushed to his side upon noticing something wrong, pleadingly.
At this moment, Makarov also stepped in, his face stern.
“Lucy is fine. Calvin, calm down.”
Calvin wasn’t completely unreceptive to advice. With his guild master speaking, his anger slightly subsided, and the terrifying magic receded somewhat. His reason was still able to restrain his emotions.
Seeing Calvin calm down, Minerva, whose nerves had been stretched to breaking point, suddenly felt weak, her legs trembling uncontrollably.
That sense of life and death hinging on another’s whim was a new and terrifying experience for her.
Now, she felt only fear and panic.
When Calvin glanced at Sabertooth, they immediately retreated defensively, drenched in cold sweat, not daring to blink.
Calvin did nothing more, snorting disdainfully before turning to check on Lucy, and asking Wendy about her condition.
“Though she’s seriously injured, her life isn’t in danger,” Wendy replied while treating Lucy. Hearing this, Calvin suppressed his anger entirely.
Erza, now facing Sabertooth, spoke with cold detachment.
“Remember this: you’ve angered the one guild you should never have, and the most terrifying person in it!”
Neither Minerva nor Sting dared to wear their previously smug expressions. Without a word, they retreated to their seats, devoid of any joy from their victory.
Only then did the audience recover from their shock, followed by a wave of boos. The boos weren’t directed at Fairy Tail.
Even the most oblivious could see Minerva’s cruelty. No one admired bullying the weak.
Sabertooth, facing a stronger opponent, didn’t dare say a word, earning further contempt. Fighting back, even if defeated, wouldn’t have left the audience so disappointed.
Shame, unwillingness, and anger filled Sabertooth’s hearts, but they dared not retaliate, relieved Calvin retained his reason.
Rogue, seeing his comrades’ defeated expressions, sighed. Their strength had given them arrogance, but facing a superior force, they were no different from those they despised, their fragile pride shattered.
Just moments ago, they were arrogant; now, they had no way to hide their shame.
Each of Sabertooth’s five members had different thoughts. Rogue questioned Sabertooth’s principles; Orga doubted his strength; Rufus feared Calvin; Sting pondered Calvin’s power.
But none dared to confront Calvin.
Minerva alone was different.
Once the danger passed, her fear vanished, replaced by burning rage and humiliation.
Taught to believe only in strength, she vowed to make Calvin bow before her, no matter the cost.
“I swear, by any means necessary, I will make him bow his arrogant head before me!”
