Tachibana Ukyo in Naruto World - Chapter 19
“Attack!”
One of the three whispered, the identity unclear.
Then, the three simultaneously sprang into action.
Shimura from Kumogakure was the fastest. In less than a breath, he completed a series of hand seals and slammed his right hand onto the ground.
“Lightning Release: Groundwalker!”
Several lightning bolts spread rapidly along the ground towards Tenya.
Whoosh!
Tenya leaped, retreating backward.
The two Iwagakure ninjas were not slow either.
“Earth Release: Swamp of the Underworld!”
Before Tenya could land, the solid ground beneath him instantly softened, transforming into a flowing swamp. Anyone caught would be swallowed immediately.
Seeing this, Kuroyama made hand seals, his chest swelling as if preparing something.
“Earth Release: Iron Rock Cannon!”
One after another, iron rock cannonballs shot out of his mouth with immense force, targeting Tenya who was still in the air.
With a swamp below and iron rock cannonballs above, Tenya seemed trapped in a deadly predicament.
An average ninja would have given up, accepting death in such a situation.
But Tenya was different.
There was no panic on his face, and his eyes still sparkled with confidence.
In Tenya’s vision, the attacking iron rock cannonballs’ trajectories became clear.
In the next moment, Tenya moved.
His sword flashed rapidly.
Each strike precisely hit the incoming cannonballs while he swayed left and right, using the force of the cannonballs to retreat gracefully.
Only after exiting the range of the swamp did Tenya land calmly.
“How is this possible?”
Kuroyama was in disbelief that his perfect attack was effortlessly countered by Tenya. Not only did Tenya break through their attack, but he also used it to escape the swamp.
Their attacks were meant to be seamless, especially Kuroyama’s final strike, which was supposed to be inescapable.
Yet, the seemingly unavoidable strike turned into their downfall.
Instead of killing Tenya, it allowed him to break free from their encirclement.
This Konoha kid is a freak!
Kuroyama wasn’t the only one shocked; Shimura and the other Iwagakure ninja were equally stunned.
Exchanging glances, the three decided to strike again without hesitation.
The fighting talent of this Konoha kid was too dangerous. If left to grow, he would pose a significant threat to their villages.
Hence, they resolved to eliminate this threat, even at great cost.
Shimura’s eyes glinted coldly as blue electricity began to arc along his sword. He charged at Tenya.
Kuroyama and the other Iwagakure ninja, eyes filled with killing intent, also moved to flank Tenya.
Facing their combined assault, Tenya remained unflustered, his eyes shimmering as he perceived their attack trajectories. Utilizing the Hell Walk technique, he continuously evaded their strikes, making their attacks seem futile.
To an observer, it might appear that Kuroyama and the others were performing a wild dance around Tenya.
Despite the prolonged assault, the result was disappointing.
Most of their attacks missed, and the few that were on target were intercepted by Tenya.
It felt as though they were merely training dummies, helping Tenya refine a rare dodging technique.
“This can’t continue!”
Shimura’s eyes blazed with anger. He snorted, forming a hand seal.
Then, lightning surged across his sword, covering it in a deep blue hue, with arcs of electricity sparking from the blade.
“Ninja Art: Lightning Flash Slash!”
With a shout, a bright bolt of lightning shot towards Tenya.
The speed of this strike far exceeded the previous attacks.
As the lightning approached Tenya, it seemed certain to slice him in half.
At that moment, Tenya’s eyes glinted.
Several Tenya’s suddenly appeared, each indistinguishable from the original.
Shimura hesitated, his sword passing through an illusion.
Again, he felt no solid impact.
Was it a clone technique?
No time to think, an urgent slash came from the side.
Shimura parried, only to find the strike bypassing him, targeting Kuroyama and the other Iwagakure ninja.
“Watch out!”
The warning came too late. Tenya’s sword reached them swiftly.
“Secret Sword: Phantom Blade!”
Both ninjas felt a sudden daze, as if enveloped in a thick fog, losing all sense of direction.
In that moment of disorientation, two sword lights slashed across their necks.
Thud! Thud!
Blood spurted from their throats as they regained clarity, only to fall into another daze.
Their consciousness faded, never to return.
“You…”
Seeing his comrades fall, Shimura’s body stiffened, his eyes widening in fear.
He was afraid!
This Konoha kid not only dodged his lethal strike but also used the opportunity to kill his remaining teammates in an instant.
It felt like fighting a seasoned veteran rather than a young ninja.
Was this what true genius was like?
He didn’t know that Tenya had absorbed all of Ukyo Tachibana’s battle experiences during his time in that role.
Ukyo Tachibana had fought countless battles, and Tenya, with all that experience, performed naturally.
Even with the combined efforts of three, they couldn’t take down this Konoha genius.
Now, Shimura was alone.
Facing such a prodigy alone, Shimura knew his chances were slim.
If he didn’t go all out, he might truly die here.
With no other choice, he decided to fight to the death.
“Haaa…”
Shimura roared, his chakra surging.
Countless arcs of lightning enveloped him, forming a lightning armor.
He looked fierce and imposing.
“This is the first time anyone has pushed me this far!”
Shimura glared at Tenya, feeling a newfound confidence in his power.
“Prepare to die!”
With that, Shimura moved.
The lightning arcs crackled as he charged at Tenya.
“Ninja Art: Thunder Slash!”
Thud!
Lightning flickered, but Shimura felt no solid hit.
Once again, Tenya’s figure dissipated like a bubble.
“Damn it!”
Before he could react, another slash came from behind.
Shimura turned, sweeping his sword, only to find another illusion.
Two failed attacks made Shimura increasingly anxious.
Maintaining this state was draining. If he couldn’t defeat Tenya in this form, he wouldn’t survive.
What now?
“Test complete. Time to end this.”
Tenya shook his head, slightly disappointed.
He had tested Shimura’s speed and power, finding that even in his lightning form, Shimura wasn’t faster than him.
It seemed Shimura hadn’t mastered his technique to the level of the Fourth Raikage, much less matched the speed of the Flying Thunder God.
Facing each other, both prepared to move.
Whoosh! Whoosh!
They moved simultaneously.
Shimura, clad in lightning, charged straight at Tenya.
Tenya, a blur of afterimages, closed in.
In a flash, they passed each other.
Shimura froze, the lightning around him dissipating as a thin line of blood appeared on his neck.
His head slowly fell, landing with a thud.
“This… this is mine…”
Watching his headless body, Shimura’s eyes dimmed.
Thus, the six-man team from Iwagakure and Kumogakure met their end.
Tenya flicked the blood from his sword and sheathed it.
Apart from his pale face, he showed no signs of injury.
Cough, cough…
He coughed, blood trickling from his mouth.
“It seems my body has reached its limit. I need to rest.”
His illness from awakening his kekkei genkai was flaring up again.
In the central lookout tower, one by one, the screens lost signal.
Within moments, all screens in the monitoring room went dark.
“What’s happening?” Orochimaru demanded.
“Report, Lord Orochimaru, it seems the cameras are malfunctioning!”
“Take people and check it out immediately!”
“Yes, sir!”
“Shinku, please take a team to investigate.”
Still uneasy, Orochimaru sent a small squad of ANBU with Shinku into the Forest of Death.
