The Pirate: Dark Admiral - Chapter 13
The ugly man nodded blankly, feeling that Rougishu Hyuga’s words made sense, yet he couldn’t shake off a strange feeling.
The surrounding crowd was also somewhat worried. Although seeing the young noble crying and rolling on the ground was satisfying, the fact that this fool dared to be so arrogant meant he probably had some backing. Could this brave youth handle the upcoming retaliation?
Furthermore, although the foolish noble started the conflict, Rougishu Hyuga escalated it. It wouldn’t be out of the question if the Marines deemed Rougishu the troublemaker.
“You bastard, I’m going to kill you! I’m going to kill you!” Rex screamed, tears and snot streaming down his face, his eyes filled with intense hatred.
Rougishu Hyuga squinted slightly. He hated trouble the most. Since this guy wanted to keep pestering, it might be best to find an opportunity to eliminate him before he left. Of course, maintaining his righteous image would have to be done discreetly under a different identity.
“Who are you going to kill?” A calm voice suddenly quieted the crowd.
A group of people appeared, led by a Marine officer wearing the coat of justice.
“Marines, you’ve come at the right time! Execute these lowly commoners for assaulting a noble! Hanging, shooting, I don’t care how, just do it!” Rex’s face twisted with a maniacal grin, his pain forgotten.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
The atmosphere shifted from tense to awkward…
Seeing the Marines remain unmoved, Rex angrily shouted, “Are you all idiots? Get on with it! My cousin is a major in your base. If you don’t listen, I’ll have him deal with you!”
“My name is Jonathan, rank: Rear Admiral. Got that?” The leading Marine replied calmly.
Rex’s eyes widened. Even an idiot could understand the difference between a major and a rear admiral.
Rougishu Hyuga felt a wave of emotion. A Marine rear admiral was just below the base commander, one of the top five figures in this vast sea region.
Though the G2 branch had one vice admiral and five rear admirals, these top officials were often too busy to stay at the base. Encountering one was like hitting the jackpot.
“You, you, you…” Rex stammered, threatening, “What’s a rear admiral to me? I’m the heir to the Earl of the Kingdom of Kono. The Marines can’t override royal authority!”
“The Kingdom of Kono?” Jonathan drew his pistol, aiming the black barrel at Rex. “An illegal state not affiliated with the World Government. Even if their king stood before me, I’d execute him if he defied justice.”
Rougishu Hyuga was speechless. This guy acted like a Celestial Dragon but wasn’t even a noble of a World Government member state. Where did his confidence come from?
Hearing this, Rex finally felt fear. He collapsed, trying to crawl away, leaving a trail of yellow liquid. His lips moved as if to beg for mercy.
However…
Bang!
A silver bullet pierced through his skull, blood spreading on the ground. Rex’s eyes widened, unable to believe he’d die here.
His lackeys snapped out of their daze, but before they could escape, a squad of Marines arrested and dragged them to jail.
Finally, Jonathan turned his gaze to Rougishu Hyuga, the ugly man and the little girl clinging to his side. As the crowd watched nervously, Jonathan smiled slightly.
“What are your names?” Rear Admiral Jonathan asked kindly.
“Rougishu Hyuga.”
“T. Penn.”
“You two did well! To be a Marine, you must have the belief in protecting justice and the resolve to act on it!”
“But,” Jonathan said, addressing Penn, “Rougishu Hyuga is right. The justice Marines protect is never achieved through weakness or compromise. Only by using great strength to eliminate evil can justice and peace truly prevail in this world!”
“Thank you for your guidance!” T. Penn nodded heavily, feeling no jealousy towards Rougishu Hyuga. Instead, he was genuinely happy because Rougishu Hyuga didn’t reject him due to his appearance.
Jonathan then scrutinized Rougishu Hyuga, who faced him calmly, impressing T. Penn with his composure. T. Penn felt ashamed that he couldn’t maintain eye contact with the rear admiral for long.
“I didn’t expect to meet the young hero Adkin told me about so soon!” Jonathan’s words left everyone stunned. The Marines behind him were especially shocked. The usually stern and composed rear admiral was praising a youth so highly!
“Adkin… young hero…” Rougishu Hyuga frowned, not recalling any connection with this person.
“Don’t be surprised. Captain Adkin arrived at Fallen Leaves Town after you left. It’s a bit embarrassing that the cunning and brutal Mammoth Pirates evaded Marine capture multiple times, and it was you who finally defeated them. Fortunately, you chose to join the Marines, so we didn’t lose face.”
Jonathan’s admiration grew. “Thanks to the Mammoth Pirates fleeing to your island, we learned about a young hero who helped eliminate dozens of pirate crews over three years, easing our burden.”
“I just did what I had to do,” Rougishu Hyuga said, his kind persona shining through.
Hearing Rougishu Hyuga’s admission, the crowd erupted.
“Did I hear right? This boy, who looks only twelve or thirteen, destroyed the infamous Mammoth Pirates!”
“The rear admiral himself said so. It must be true!”
“That’s a pirate crew with a bounty of 37 million Beli! In my home of the West Blue, you wouldn’t find a pirate crew that strong across the entire sea!”
“At such a young age, he’s already accomplished so much. We might be witnessing the rise of a future Marine admiral!”
T. Penn also looked on with admiration. Though he’d killed many pirates, the highest bounty among them was only just over 10 million Beli, far from Rougishu Hyuga’s achievements.
“No wonder he has such principles and awareness. Did he grasp the essence of justice through constant battles with pirates?” T. Penn’s eyes shone brightly, feeling he’d found a guiding light in his life.
“If I could become a hero like Rougishu Hyuga, maybe… people wouldn’t hate me anymore…”
