- Chapter 177 - Gigantic City-Level Fortress Puppet
As they stepped outside, they encountered Sara’s daughter, Saran.
After the destruction of Loulan, the descendants of Loulan had become nomadic tribes wandering the desert.
Saran spoke briefly with Naruto before preparing to leave.
Mufeng called out, “Wait a moment.”
Saran stopped.
Mufeng said, “I am Mufeng, the Kazekage of the Hidden Sand Village.”
Saran quickly bowed, “Greetings, Lord Kazekage.”
Mufeng continued, “You’ve been nomadic in the desert; life must be tough for you.”
Saran nodded, puzzled, as she looked at Mufeng.
“Our Hidden Sand Village is committed to the welfare of all in the Land of Wind. Now, you can move and settle in our village.”
Saran covered her mouth in surprise.
This was too shocking to believe. Living resources in the desert were scarce. A tribe would often split if the population were too large.
Saran, a descendant of Loulan, had never imagined that the Hidden Sand Village would invite them to settle there.
Mufeng smiled, “The Land of Wind and the Hidden Sand Village have changed.”
“We have enough work; you can completely support yourselves and your tribe through jobs in the village.”
Saran couldn’t believe it, “Really?”
Mufeng nodded, “Really. I, the Kazekage, never lie.”
Saran beamed, “That’s wonderful!”
“If we can settle down, that would be perfect.”
“Kurotsuchi.”
The secretary Kurotsuchi responded, “Present.”
Mufeng instructed, “Go settle them in, arrange housing, acquaint them with the village, and handle job training and other matters.”
The village greatly needed manpower.
Encountering it, they would recruit a group.
The descendants of Loulan had always been nomadic in the desert.
Their background was clean.
They could be absorbed into the village.
The matter was decided just like that.
Saran and over two thousand of her people followed Mufeng back to the Hidden Sand Village.
Kurotsuchi led them to their accommodations.
After treating Naruto and his friends to a meal, Mufeng returned to his office.
Gaara, Kankuro, Sasori, and Kabuto were already waiting inside the office. “Lord.”
“Lord.”
Everyone stood up as he entered.
Mufeng tossed his hat onto the round table, “Take a seat.”
“I’ve called you here today to discuss the next construction phase for our Hidden Sand Village.”
“Upgrade?”
The group was puzzled.
Mufeng placed the technological documents he brought back from Loulan on the table.
“You can take a look.”
Everyone quickly found sections of interest.
Sasori remarked, “Hmm, this puppet technology of splitting and merging has its merits.”
Kankuro asked, “Lord, are you planning to lay chakra pipelines throughout the village?”
Kabuto noted, “The Dragon Veins are a great energy source.”
After everyone had looked over the documents, they turned their attention to Mufeng.
Mufeng confirmed, “Yes, I believe you’ve all grasped my idea.”
He turned on the projector.
The blueprints of the Hidden Sand Village and its industrial park were displayed.
Sasori immediately noticed something extraordinary, “Are these two gigantic puppets?!”
He had seen the inner workings of mechanical creatures like Godzilla.
The village’s plan resembles the layout of a Godzilla puppet but in a lying position.
Mufeng nodded, “Haha, yes.”
“From the beginning, I planned the layout and construction of the village and the industrial park based on the blueprints of a mechanical Godzilla.”
“I hope that one day, they can truly stand up and become guardians for our village.”
Everyone was impressed by Mufeng’s ambitious project.
Sasori commented, “Such large puppets, not to mention the energy needed for activation, the energy to drive them is unimaginable.”
If they stood up, a single blast could flatten a city.
Mufeng agreed, “Yes.”
“That’s why we need to harness the Dragon Veins.”
Mufeng opened the map again.
“Here is the village, and here are the Dragon Veins, about eight hundred kilometres apart.”
“I plan to build a pipeline to channel the energy of the Dragon Veins into the village.”
“We will install chakra pipelines into the village’s existing pipelines.”
“Then, the energy of the Dragon Veins can flow throughout the village.”
“This would be like the blood vessels and blood for the gigantic puppets.”
“Once we figure out the activation technology, they could be mobilised.”
The giant city-level fortress puppets.
The framework was already in place.
Now, it needed blood vessels and blood.
Finally, it would be given life or a soul.
Then, the village itself would become a war fortress.
Who would dare challenge them?
They would simply drive the entire village over.
And give them a feast.
The group was thrilled by this plan.
They discussed the implementation.
Kabuto suggested, “For the pipeline between the village and the Dragon Veins, we can use sandworms to make a path.”
Kankuro added, “We, the engineering ninja, will handle fortification; we must modify the village’s pipelines.”
Gaara said, “The ninja army will clear the dangers along the way and establish patrols and defences.”
Kankuro was concerned, “This is a large-scale project, and we don’t have enough manpower.”
Mufeng looked at Sasori.
Sasori was puzzled.
Mufeng reminded him, “Have you progressed with developing the automated puppets needed for the factory I told you about?”
Sasori hadn’t taken it seriously.
Automated production puppets?
Nowhere near as interesting as researching combat puppets.
He’d have to go to the factory to screw bolts.
Mufeng could tell Sasori wasn’t invested in it.
“Hmph.”
“I order you to drop other research.”
“Start researching the automated puppets needed for each factory immediately.”
“If you can’t handle it,”
“I’ll strip you of your rank as captain of the Third Squad.”
“And you can forget about piloting Gundams or Genjis.”
Sasori immediately complied.
“555.”
“I’ll start researching right away.”
