“Is defending all you can do, Primo? If this is the extent of your Ultimate Dying Will Mode, it’s truly disappointing!”
Demon Spade said coldly as he stared intently at Giotto.
“Is that so?”
Giotto challenged Demon Spade, and in the next moment, he instantly appeared behind Okuri thanks to the explosive speed from Ultimate Dying Will Mode, and struck Okuri’s head with his lightning spear.
He couldn’t afford to fight like he did a moment ago. He at first thought that Reborn could defeat Geno right away, which would allow him to take down Okuri and Demon Spade slowly but surely.
To his surprise, Reborn had run out of time on his Dispel Curse ability. As a result, Geno was severely injured but not completely out of commission. If he didn’t quickly defeat Okuri and Demon Spade, Geno would regain his strength and join the battle as well, which would make the situation much more complicated!
Seeing Giotto swung down his lightning spear, Okuri’s expression changed beneath the mask. He hastily protected his head with his arms and reinforced his defense with Color of Arms Haki. At the same time, he activated his Devil Fruit ability, creating vortexes on both sides of his arms, absorbing the Lightning Flame from the spear. However, he wasn’t the type to lose so easily. After withstanding Giotto’s blow, he quickly aimed his right hand at Giotto and blasted the Lightning Flame he absorbed earlier at Giotto in the form of lightning serpent!

Demon Spade naturally knew what Giotto was planning, so he dispersed the lightning serpent that Okuri threw at Giotto. Then, he turned at Okuri and said, “Stop using your Devil Fruit ability on a whim! It will have no effect on him unless you use it when he can’t perform that particular gesture. Do you understand?”
Upon hearing this, Okuri nodded. He had started to grasp the situation. It wasn’t that the opponent had the same ability as him, but rather, he could only absorb energy when he made that specific gesture.
In other words, energy-type attacks weren’t ineffective; they just had to use it when Vongola Primo couldn’t perform that particular action.
“Thanks for the reminder. But isn’t it about time that you show some of your true strength as well? I’m sure this is not everything you got right? Otherwise, the Five Elders wouldn’t have allowed us to come here with you.”
Okuri nodded but also complained. While he hadn’t seen Demon Spade done anything significant, the fact that the Five Elders had ordered them to assist him and that Geno had previously mentioned that Demon Spade was very strong suggested that he was far stronger than what he had showed so far.
“Hmm? True strength? Haven’t I been fighting with all my might all along?”
Demon Spade tilted his head and said with a light smile.
Indeed, he hadn’t been going all out because, in his eyes, Vongola Primo was the primary target. Besides, the World Government wasn’t good guys either. They all posed a threat to Vongola Family. So, the ideal scenario was to have Vongola Primo and CP0 crush each other, and then, he’d crush them both!
This was why he didn’t want to go all out immediately.
“Don’t joke around. I know that this is not all you got! And by now, you should’ve realized already that we’re getting nowhere at this rate. At the very least, we have to hold on until Geno regains some of his strength so we can destroy this Family!”
Okuri added coldly, “I don’t know what those Marine idiots doing, but what takes them so long? They should have taken care of the enemy long ago with their full force. If the Marine joined the battle, things wouldn’t be this difficult for us.”
Among those present, only Demon Spade knew why the Marine hadn’t joined them. They were unlucky enough to encounter Varia and then the Cloud Guardian Alaudi…
