Vongola Primo in One Piece - Chapter 408
Outside the castle, Moria stood with a horde of zombies and his men, trying to appear calm as they waited.
If it were someone else, they might have stayed inside the castle, but they couldn’t afford to let their guard down against the leader of Vongola Family. He feared Giotto so much that he came out and welcomed him.
Why?
Because Giotto had defeated Kaido, and Moria was defeated by Kaido in New World. Kaido did not only defeat him and his crew but also crushed his spirit. So, how could he handle Giotto, who could defeat Kaido?
Even the zombie army was no match against Vongola Family!
Before long, a group of well-dressed zombies led three people. Among these three, aside from the meek Brook, the other two had faint smiles on their faces, as if this was not enemy’s territory.
“Kishishishi! Lord Vongola Primo has graced us with his presence. Please follow me into the castle so that I can offer you our hospitality.”
Moria no longer seemed like the master of Thriller Bark. He appeared to be a warm and polite fat guy, without a shred of a pirate aura to him.
Seeing Moria being so respectful, even Brook was surprised. He already knew that the two people with him must be some big shots, but he didn’t expect them to be respected this much. Moria could easily overpower him, and the person who could make Moria lower his head must be absurdly strong!
“No need, Moria. I’m not here for anything major. I just happened to be on my way back to New World and might as well do a favor for an old friend. You have Ryuma’s body, right?” Giotto waved his hand. He didn’t want to enter this ominous-looking castle, and he wasn’t sure how dirty it might be with zombies all over the place.
It was surely something that Moria and his men weren’t infected with any disease while living there.
Or maybe they were already infected but were cured by Hogback?
Forget it, he wasn’t interested in that. He had come this time to help Brook retrieve his shadow. As for Moria, he could just leave it Luffy.
But upon hearing Giotto’s words, Moria was taken aback. He didn’t realize that Giotto had come to take a shadow.
He thought that Giotto would rampage there because Giotto knew that he had stolen Ryuma’s body. After all, Wano Country was now Vongola Family’s territory, and Ryuma was from Wano, with his blade being a national treasure. By stealing Ryuma’s corpse and using his body to create a zombie army, he had offended Wano and drawn the attention of Vongola Family.
But it wasn’t his fault!
When he stole Ryuma’s body, Wano was still under Kaido’s control. It was truly an unfortunate turn of events!
“Lord Vongola Primo, this really isn’t my fault! I will immediately return what belongs to Wano. When I took it, Wano wasn’t Vongola Family’s territory. I’m not doing anything wrong, and after it becomes Vongola Family’s territory, I haven’t even set foot in New World. You can’t blame me for this!”
Moria quickly explained, and his subordinates looked at him with strange expressions. They had never seen Moria this timid.
If Moria knew what they were thinking, he would yell at them. They didn’t know he did this to stay out of trouble.
Besides, apart from Dracule Mihawk and Big Mom, the other Seven Warlords of the Sea probably had to be even more “timid” when facing the likes of Vongola Primo.
“That’s not what I’m here for. I have no interest in retrieving Ryuma’s body. If Wano wishes to reclaim it, they will send their samurais, as it is their national treasure, and those samurais would not ask for others’ help to retrieve it. My purpose here is the shadow inside Ryuma, which belongs to the guy behind me, Brook. Please return his shadow to him.”
Giotto finally realized why Moria suddenly became so timid. He thought that Giotto came here in Wano’s stead!
After all, tealing a national treasure was a serious crime!
If he did come for that, Moria would probably have to find a grave for himself nearby. However, Giotto had no intention of dealing with Moria. It wasn’t that he necessarily wanted to leave Moria to Luffy to deal with, he simply saw there was nothing in it for him. It would only provoke the Marines to make a move.
Things were quite peaceful, and there was no need to cause unnecessary trouble now.
After all, Moria was one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea.
If Giotto really wanted to stir up trouble, it wouldn’t be now. Giotto had already come up with a plan. World Government and the Marines were powerful, and a direct confrontation with them would undoubtedly result in significant losses. However, once World Government trusted Millefiore Family, and a fight between Vongola Family and Millefiore Family occurred, both Sengoku and the Five Elders wouldn’t be able to resist sending their men to finish off both Famiglia in one fell swoop. By the time they realized that Vongola Family and Millefiore Family were on the same side, it would be too late!
“A shadow?” Moria was surprised. He didn’t expect Giotto to come here for a single shadow.
You should have told me in advance!
Did you really have to make me so afraid? You should have told me earlier, and I would have had someone deliver it to you personally. Do you have to come here and scare me? What if I got a heart attack because of that?
After calming down a bit, Moria immediately said, “No problem! Since it’s your request, I’ll return the shadow to that… skeleton?”
