- Chapter 60 - The Whitebeard Pirates are Invading Grass Village!
In just one night, Grass Village experienced two major disturbances.
The first disturbance was near all the Anbu from Grass Village being dispatched, which was considered a small disturbance within a ninja village.
The second disturbance was happening now, with the village alarm blaring and the ear-piercing siren echoing throughout Grass Village.
Any ninja who had experienced war would find this alarm extremely familiar, even triggering PTSD.
This was the alarm for an enemy invasion. Someone was launching a night attack on Grass Village!
The villagers were awakened.
Although the civilians didn’t know what was happening, common sense told them to hurry to the shelter in the back mountains if they wanted to survive.
…
“Gurararara! What a small village.”
Using Observation Haki quickly, Whitebeard scanned the entire Grass Village and found that it was only a tenth the size of Konoha.
Konoha wasn’t very large to begin with.
Who would have thought?
There was an even smaller ninja village in the ninja world.
“The alarm is loud… but it’s understandable that we were discovered. If we weren’t, that would have been a bigger problem.” Kakashi said, his single visible eye showing a deadpan expression.
He looked like he had lost all hope in life.
Logically speaking.
If one were to retaliate against a ninja village, one would first gather intelligence on the village, ideally enlisting some of its ninjas for inside support.
That way, they could sneak into the village quietly.
However, Kakashi found that Whitebeard had no such thoughts.
Whitebeard walked openly the entire way.
It seemed the words “sneak in” were not in his dictionary.
Nor were the words “low profile.”
Thus.
Grass Village discovered them.
“Big sister, you don’t need to be afraid!” At this moment, the youngest, Naruto, was comforting the twenty-something Fushi. “My dad is a super, super, super strong pirate! Our Whitebeard Pirates will definitely teach these bad guys a lesson!”
In Naruto’s mind, the ninjas in Grass Village, who bullied a mother and daughter, were bad guys!
Fushi could only force a smile in response to Naruto.
She looked at the tightly closed gate of Grass Village.
“Karin…”
Fushi clenched her fists. She knew there was no turning back. Whether Karin could be rescued from the den of monsters depended on whether the giant from Konoha could fight an entire ninja village.
She knew her thoughts were naive and too fanciful.
But besides that.
She had no other choice.
Should she watch her daughter fall into the same desperate situation as herself?
“I-I’ll use myself as bait!”
Fushi’s lips turned pale as she said determinedly, “When they focus on me, you can…”
Before she could finish.
She was stunned.
Because Whitebeard had already taken a step forward.
He walked past Fushi.
The white cloak on his back fluttered in the night wind.
“Gurararara!” Whitebeard laughed. “Just opening a gate, why make it so complicated?!”
At the same time.
The two Genin guarding the gate of Grass Village realized something was wrong because they saw Whitebeard raising his giant naginata.
“Oh no!!!”
The two Genin gasped.
Their faces changed dramatically.
They jumped off the high wall as if running for their lives.
At this moment, Whitebeard’s blade had already struck.
Even Konoha’s gate couldn’t withstand a strike from Whitebeard, let alone the relatively small gate of Grass Village.
With a loud “boom”.
The gate of Grass Village collapsed.
“Gurararara!” Whitebeard’s hearty laughter echoed over Grass Village. “So, it’s you guys from this village who wanted Whitebeard’s head!”
Swish!
Swish!
Swish!
Grass Village ninjas appeared on the high wall one by one, responding to the Chief’s orders.
They looked at the collapsed village gate and the tall, burly Whitebeard, frightened and furious.
Though they were just a small ninja village, they were still a ninja village. There were very few countries in the entire ninja world with ninja villages.
Under normal circumstances, especially in non-war times.
No one would dare to storm a ninja village.
Because this meant being enemies with all the ninjas in that village and would also cause severe diplomatic incidents.
But tonight, this was happening.
Suddenly.
A man with a bit of a beard walked out from among the ninjas. He wore the battle attire of Grass Village, protected by a few Anbu.
“It’s the Chief!” The Grass ninjas exclaimed.
This was none other than the Chief of Grass Village!
The Chief had a stern, horse-like face, trying to project the aura of a village leader.
But.
When his gloomy eyes met Whitebeard’s sharp gaze mid-air, his heart shook.
His aura instantly collapsed.
There was no comparison.
The Chief tried to steady his emotions, gritting his teeth and glaring at Whitebeard and Kakashi. He shouted, “Giant! And Konoha ninja! Do you realize your actions are invading Grass Village? In non-war times, Konoha’s invasion will bring you to the Ninja World Military Court!”
He piled on accusations.
Kakashi looked helpless.
He didn’t want to be here either.
But he had no choice.
“Brat!” Calling a middle-aged man without a beard a “brat” was no problem for Whitebeard.
He grinned, laughing dominantly. “Did you get something wrong? This isn’t Konoha invading you.”
“Hmm?” The Chief was stunned.
What did the giant mean?
“Gurararara!” Whitebeard laughed. “This is the Whitebeard Pirates invading your lousy village!”
As the words fell, Whitebeard, holding his naginata with both hands, got into a stance.
At that moment.
A strong sense of crisis enveloped the Chief’s heart. He didn’t even have time to ponder what the “Whitebeard Pirates” were.
His survival instinct urged him to leave immediately.
Boom!!!
The ground under Whitebeard’s feet shattered. When he reappeared, he was already in front of the collapsed gate of Grass Village.
With his immense strength, the long handle of his naginata bent as he swung it.
The massive blade turned pitch black!
A strike infused with Armament Haki.
Majestic and unstoppable!!!
“Gurararara! Remember this! It’s the ‘Whitebeard Pirates’!”
…
Konoha Village.
There was a time difference between the Land of Grass and the Land of Fire. When it was four in the morning in the Land of Grass, it was just two in the morning in the Land of Fire.
The Konoha Intelligence Department seemed to have received some news.
They instantly exploded with activity.
One of the Jonins from the Intelligence Department urgently took a translated telegram and rushed to Konoha Hospital.
He didn’t care whether the Third Hokage was asleep.
He directly pushed open the door to the ward.
Shouting in alarm, “Hokage-sama! Something terrible has happened!”
