Whitebeard’s One Punch! The Rampaging Tremor! (Part 1)
—
“It’s started! It’s started! Is this the power of ninjas? It’s just… it’s just like a natural disaster.”
In the distance, Tomoto Aomizu holds a telescope.
He wears an expression of both anxiety and excitement. He’s excited because the Kirigakure ninjas have made their move. Honestly, it’s his first time seeing such powerful Kirigakure ninjas in action.
After all, that’s four Chunin plus one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
That Kurosuki Raiga is even a Jonin of Kirigakure!
Although everything is shrouded in thick fog, he can still vaguely make out flashes of lightning in that fog.
As for anxiety… It’s because he’s not sure if, after they assassinate Whitebeard, he will still get any share of the money.
Seeing how these Kirigakure ninjas act…
It seems they don’t plan on sharing the money.
Seriously…
“No way! They can’t break the rules! We agreed on a thirty-to-seventy split!” Tomoto Aomizu grits his teeth. “If they break their word, I’ll go straight to their Mizukage in Kirigakure!”
Meanwhile,
Within the thick fog of the Hidden Mist Technique,
Four thunder-charged waterfalls surge in from the front, back, left, and right, crashing violently into the reception hall.
In an instant, that building collapses.
All four walls are crushed into rubble!
“Did we get them?” One of the Kirigakure Chunin narrows his eyes, trying to see through the mist toward the wreckage ahead.
But the blurry image he sees makes him freeze in surprise.
“What is that?!”
He sees a hemispherical dome in the rubble, shaped from sturdy earth. One side is carved with a few dog heads, and the other side is left unadorned.
Under the assault of four Great Waterfall Techniques plus a Lightning-Style jutsu, that earthen dome is riddled with ferocious cracks.
But it hasn’t been shattered completely.
It actually blocked them!
“Earth Style?” says the Chunin, whose excessive chakra usage has made his meridians ache. He reacts instantly, astonished. “Weren’t they poisoned? How can they still have the energy to cast ninjutsu?”
“They’re not poisoned?” Another Kirigakure Chunin’s face darkens. “Could Whitebeard have seen through our plan from the start?”
“Damn! It must be that merchant letting things slip!”
He effortlessly pins the blame on Tomoto Aomizu.
For these Kirigakure ninjas, a failed assassination is inexcusable.
“…So it’s not so simple,” Kurosuki Raiga mutters more calmly than his subordinates, though his brows knit tightly. He grips his ninja blades with all his strength.
“Since we’ve already started the assassination, there’s no turning back. Even if something unexpected comes up, we must carry on!”
He barks this coldly.
Inside the dome in the rubble,
Kakashi presses one hand against one side of the inner dome wall, while Uzumaki Fushi presses her hand to the other side.
They used an Earth Style defense together.
On Kakashi’s side, hardly any cracks show.
On Fushi’s side, it’s covered in cracks, letting some water seep inside. Her face is turning a bit pale.
Though she bears the blood of the Uzumaki Clan, her body is still somewhat frail, not yet restored to peak condition.
The difference in their levels is apparent at a glance.
“As expected of the Bloody Mist Ninjas of Kirigakure,” Kakashi exhales, speaking gravely. “If our reaction had been two seconds slower, we’d probably be dead now.”
“And we accidentally inhaled some of the poison in the fog.” Kakashi’s half-lidded eye is filled with resignation.
“My ninjutsu speed dropped a lot too.”
He looks at Uchiha Shisui.
Then glances at Naruto.
Among their group, they have two ‘patients.’ Normally, that would spell life or death crisis.
But Kakashi can’t help turning his gaze to Whitebeard.
He notices that Whitebeard’s breathing remains steady—he’s not even trying to hold his breath and has inhaled plenty of toxin-laced fog.
Of course, Kakashi understands that Whitebeard doesn’t rely on chakra; even a poison that disrupts chakra would have no effect on him.
Sure enough,
Kakashi sees Whitebeard’s expression is perfectly normal, not the slightest bit weak.
“So many in this ninja world want my head to claim that hundred million ryo bounty,” Whitebeard says. He’s already aware the bounty on him rose to one hundred million.
In his mouth, a hundred million is a stingy bounty.
After all, he was once worth over five billion out on the sea.
By comparison, the people of the ninja world are way too stingy.
“Foolish daughter, step back,” Whitebeard calls to Uzumaki Fushi.
“Got it, Dad!” Fushi withdraws at once.
Whitebeard looks at the cracked inner wall of earth,
Still smiling.
“Gurararara! Let’s see if these little ninjas of the Land of Water really have what it takes to take my head!” Whitebeard grips Murakumogiri, casually slashing out.
Swish!!!
He doesn’t use Haoshoku or Busoshoku Haki—
Just a plain, ordinary slash. Yet it slices the Earth Style defense Kakashi and Fushi created cleanly in half!
The single strike sweeps up a raging gust,
Kicking up sand and debris in all directions.
The swirling fog is blasted away by that fierce wind.
The four Kirigakure Chunin, closest to the rubble, are shocked as huge chunks of it fly at them. They scramble aside in panic.
When the gale finally fades,
They see that no rubble remains around Whitebeard—everything has been flung off who knows how many meters away.
All that’s left is the small group standing there.
Uchiha Shisui’s eyes narrow. “So this is the power that beat the Third Hokage and Danzo?”
He’s strong—this is Shisui’s first impression of Whitebeard.
Shisui wonders if his single-eyed Susano’o, casually slashing once, could create the same effect as Whitebeard’s blow?
After thinking it over,
He senses it’s impossible.
“What’s with that huge gust of wind? Is Whitebeard using Wind Style? He’s actually a Wind Style user?” The Kirigakure Chunin are all taken aback, their Hidden Mist Technique meant to obscure the enemy’s sight.
Yet all the fog was blown away in an instant, and they themselves are fully exposed.
Realizing the plan has failed, they leap over to Kurosuki Raiga’s side. All five gather into a group.
They face off against Whitebeard.
“The assassination turned into a head-on fight,” Kurosuki Raiga mutters, looking grim. The murderous intent in his eyes has not diminished.
He suddenly notices the ninja wearing a Konoha forehead protector beside Whitebeard.
“Hatake Kakashi?!” Kurosuki Raiga’s eyes widened. Hatake Kakashi’s trademark appearance is known throughout the ninja world—unmistakable at a glance.
Damn!
Kurosuki Raiga’s tense expression flickers—who’d have thought the Konoha ninja with Whitebeard was that man?
“Lord Kurosuki, it looks like Hatake Kakashi is affected by the poison!” a Kirigakure Chunin says. “I can sense something odd about his chakra flow—it’s extremely unstable.”
“Oh?” Kurosuki Raiga’s mouth curves into a grin. “So it wasn’t a failure after all. The heavens have kindly given us a feast.”
“Whitebeard, Edward Newgate, bounty one hundred million ryo!
“Hatake Kakashi, bounty thirty million ryo!”
If they could get one hundred thirty million ryo in total…
That’s…
“Hm?” With that thought, Kurosuki Raiga notices another figure: a young man wrapped in bandages, one eye open and the other shut. He looks oddly familiar.
“Uchiha Shisui!!!
“Shunshin no Shisui!!!”
Kurosuki Raiga can’t help crying out in astonishment. Shisui’s fame is no less than Kakashi’s—he’s also a renowned Konoha ninja.
What is going on here? Why are two Konoha ninjas together with a wanted criminal?
“A bounty of forty-five million ryo on that Uchiha genius!”
Kurosuki Raiga forces down his surprise, because he quickly notices that out of everyone, Shisui is the weakest right now.
He licks the ninja blades in his hands, growing more excited.
“One hundred seventy-five million ryo… That’s more than I’ve earned from all my missions combined! Especially Shunshin no Shisui and Sharingan Kakashi. If I kill them both, maybe I can get a couple of Sharingan eyes, too?”

—
If these two were at full strength—two famed Konoha ninjas plus Whitebeard—Kurosuki Raiga would run away rather than fight.
But Hatake Kakashi is half-crippled,
Uchiha Shisui is fully crippled,
The only real threat is Whitebeard, whose true strength they don’t know yet.
“Finish this quickly!” Kurosuki Raiga doesn’t want a prolonged fight; the longer it drags on, the more time Kakashi has to recover. Then they’d have to face more than just Whitebeard.
Facing only Whitebeard,
He thinks they still have a chance.
“Yes, Lord Kurosuki!”
The four Kirigakure Chunin speak as one, forming hand seals simultaneously: “Water Style: Fourfold Hidden Mist Technique!!!”
They forcibly squeeze out what little chakra remains, using Hidden Mist Technique again.
This time, the fog in the air grows even thicker than before,
The visibility is down to barely tens of centimeters. Everyone is practically blind.
No one can see anything.
But these Kirigakure shinobi have gone through extensive assassination training. Even if they themselves can’t see in the fog, they’re used to fighting in it.
They can fight just fine even without sight!
“Such annoying ninjas!”
Whitebeard blows sharply, dispersing a large swath of mist in front of him, but the rest quickly surges in to fill the gap.
“Pointless effort!” The Kirigakure ninjas’ voices echo from all directions. “This is a special-type of Hidden Mist Technique! If it could be blown away so easily, we wouldn’t be the famous Bloody Mist Ninjas!”
Whoosh—
Sharp whistling sounds come from all sides. Numerous shuriken cut through the fog, all aimed at Whitebeard.
Whitebeard lightly raises Murakumogiri,
Then slams it down hard.
Boom!!!
The ground beneath him shatters, releasing waves of air that knock away the incoming shuriken.
“Watch out! There might be explosive tags on them!” Shisui calls in warning.
Sure enough, before the shuriken are flung too far, they suddenly explode one after another. Shards of broken steel burst forth, flying straight for Whitebeard.
Boom-boom-boom-boom-boom!!
Shisui realizes his warning is unnecessary—Whitebeard remains unscathed. Deadly metal fragments land on him without leaving so much as a scratch.
“You fell for it, big guy!”
Suddenly, the Kirigakure Chunin speak, appearing front, back, left, and right around Whitebeard.
“Hiding our own footsteps behind other sounds is also part of Kirigakure’s Silent Killing technique!”
Their faces are pale as paper.
Even though their chakra is nearly drained, they force themselves to squeeze out more from their cells.
“Water Style: Water Prison Technique!”
They shout in unison.
Four surging streams of water rush toward Whitebeard and his companions. Though weaker than the earlier Great Waterfall Techniques, these streams are even heavier.
In the blink of an eye, they envelop Whitebeard’s group in one enormous ball of water.
“Mmph! Guh…” A woozy Naruto clamps a hand over his mouth and nose, trying to speak but accidentally swallowing a big gulp of water.
Uchiha Shisui holds his breath at once.
Karin and Uzumaki Fushi are caught off guard; Karin chokes on a mouthful of water but has no way to breathe inside the water prison, her cheeks turning bright red.
Kakashi’s expression changes, too.
“Hahaha! Good job!” Kurosuki Raiga’s voice echoes through the mist. “This is Kirigakure’s Water Prison Technique—an inescapable aquatic cage!”
Kurosuki Raiga surges with chakra, lightning crackling from his blades. “And since it’s made of water, water can conduct electricity!”
“Lightning Style—huh?!!”
Before he can move,
He notices something is off.
He keenly senses the air is shaking. Even the fog ahead visibly quivers. His pupils contract, as it hits an area of ignorance for him. “What… is that?”
“Arrghhh!!!” The screams of the four Kirigakure Chunin ring out in eerie unison.
A sudden, violent tremor instantly shatters every bone in their bodies.
They slump down like lumps of mud.
All four die on the spot.
The Water Prison Technique trapping Whitebeard’s group breaks apart.
Water splashes outward in all directions,
And much of it soaks Kurosuki Raiga, turning him into a drenched mess.
The surrounding fog is blasted away, revealing everything in stark clarity.
“What… what just happened?”
Kurosuki Raiga stares in disbelief as his four subordinates die before his eyes.
He doesn’t even know how they were killed.
What kind of bizarre power is this?
“Ninja brat, so you wanted to kill my family too?” That calm, questioning tone is like Death demanding its due.
Kurosuki Raiga looks up at Whitebeard’s face,
But finds it hard to see clearly.
It’s as if Whitebeard’s features are shrouded in shadow, giving him an even more crushing aura.
“I can’t believe… he’s making me feel pressure.”
Cold sweat beads Kurosuki Raiga’s forehead.
“What a terrifying man.” But he soon breaks into a grin. “That’s exactly what makes it all the more thrilling, Whitebeard! After I kill you, I’ll hold a funeral for you—every month, a big one, just for a man like you!”
He raises both arms high. Overhead, layered clouds seem to roil with lightning.
Rumble!!!
A bolt of thunder crashes down from the sky,
Striking his ninja blades.
“So this is one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of Kirigakure!” Bathed in dazzling lightning, Kurosuki Raiga declares, “Whitebeard! Today, the man who will kill you is Kurosuki Raiga!”
“Lightning Style: Lightning Banquet!!!”
He doesn’t even need hand seals. Merely swinging his twin blades through the air, lightning branches out like tree limbs, flooding forward in the blink of an eye. Even the ground shatters beneath the electric onslaught.
Sizzling arcs of current blaze with dazzling light.
Whitebeard squints slightly.
“Man, that’s bright! Reminds me of a certain annoying ‘flashy brat.’” Whitebeard holds Murakumogiri in one hand, swinging it forward.
The blade, coated in Armament Haki, meets the lightning,
And cut it apart in a single slash!
“Don’t underestimate my ninja blades! Lightning Style: Thunder Dragon Whirlwind!” Kurosuki Raiga roars. The electricity, severed into arcing fragments, coalesces into a massive dragon of lightning.
It spins toward Whitebeard like a whirlwind,
Spewing arcs of electricity, its power terrifying.
“You can’t dodge! Lightning Blade Arts: Falling Thunder!!” Kurosuki Raiga doesn’t relent. He drives both blades into the ground, then rips them out and slashes forward.
Twin bolts of lightning arc around Whitebeard’s group, trapping them in an instant.
“There’s nowhere to run!!!!”
Watching the thunder dragon surge toward him,
Whitebeard shows no concern—instead, he smiles boldly. “Interesting blades, huh? From today on, those swords belong to the Whitebeard Pirates.”
His right fist crackles with quake-like ripples.
Whitebeard casually punches through the air, and then the large area ahead is flipped upside down!
The oncoming thunder dragon is shattered in an instant!
That tremor
Sweeps across everything!
The atmosphere is veined with dense cracks. Before Kurosuki Raiga’s widening, disbelieving eyes, those cracks stretch to where he stands. The intense vibration makes his muscles rupture segment by segment. His Kirigakure forehead protector disintegrates.
Blood gushes from his mouth along with chunks of internal organs. Even his fragile eyeballs explode under that tremor’s force.
Blood pours from ears, nose, eyes, and mouth.
All four limbs twist unnaturally, bones ripping through flesh.
One of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen of Kirigakure is utterly helpless. All his flashy attacks are negated by Whitebeard—while just one punch from Whitebeard
He can’t withstand at all.
With a clang, the strangely shaped ninja blades fall to the ground, and Kurosuki Raiga collapses face-first in miserable fashion.
Blood soaks the ground around him,
His breathing snuffed out.
“He was one of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen… Kurosuki Raiga?”
Shisui stares blankly at the corpse.
“He’s… just gone like that?”
