Yasuo in Marvel - Chapter 18
After returning home that night, Yasuo diligently studied the system shop again. Tonight’s efforts were worthwhile; he earned nearly 500 gold coins in one night. His gold coins were almost enough to purchase a skill, and Yasuo decided to use the coins at a crucial moment as a trump card.
Meanwhile, Blade returned to his lair, a mechanical workshop where an old man with white hair was working on weapons. This was Whistler, Blade’s assistant, who helped craft silver weapons and supplied garlic extract among other items. He would also rush to the frontline to assist Blade if necessary.
“How’s it going with your new partner?” Whistler asked as soon as he saw Blade return.
“He’s still a kid, needs some guidance. But he’s strong. Today, he took down six elite vampires by himself without needing my help,” Blade replied, sharing his opinion of Yasuo.
“These vampires are getting restless. They seem to have forgotten the peace treaty about not killing humans and not holding private gatherings,” Whistler expressed concern about the increasing vampire activity.
“Their festival is approaching. Some young vampires will inevitably cause trouble. I’ll make them understand the consequences,” Blade said with determination. His goal was to eradicate all vampires.
Officer Craig of the 42nd precinct, who had betrayed Yasuo last night, was summoned by the vampire leader Deacon Frost today.
Feeling that he had caught Deacon Frost’s attention, Craig had even forgotten the pain of his severed hand. After all, if he gained the power of a vampire, he could even regrow his lost limb. What was a single hand compared to eternal life and immense power?
Driving his police car and carrying gifts, Craig was on his way to complete a task assigned by Deacon Frost. He firmly believed he was about to become a true vampire. He hadn’t noticed a black sports car trailing him.
When Yasuo woke up around noon the next day, he turned on the TV. All the headlines were dominated by news about Tony Stark and Stark Industries. Tony Stark had refused to fly on a military plane during an arms sale in Afghanistan and was ambushed by local terrorists while traveling in an armored vehicle. None of the accompanying soldiers survived, and Tony Stark’s body was not found. He was now missing.
Due to Tony Stark’s disappearance, Stark Industries’ stock plummeted by 35 percent, losing a third of its market value overnight. Meanwhile, stocks of competing companies surged.
Tony Stark’s uncle, Obadiah Stane, temporarily took over Stark Industries, announcing that all resources would be used to find Tony Stark. However, specifics on the rescue were vague, with statements like “no comment,” “it’s confidential,” “we’re still investigating,” and “a rescue team has been dispatched to Afghanistan.”
Seeing this news, Yasuo was thrilled. Don’t get it wrong; he wasn’t happy about Tony Stark being kidnapped. He was excited about the opportunity to make a fortune and finally understand the current timeline. Soon, Tony Stark would transform into Iron Man and return, requiring no effort on Yasuo’s part.
Imagining his future life, Yasuo realized he could finally stop living off instant noodles and perhaps start enjoying steaks and seafood.
While Yasuo celebrated Tony Stark’s disappearance, the Stark Industries board was worried sick. Some directors demanded hiring mercenaries to search for Tony in Afghanistan and offered a high bounty. However, Obadiah Stane opposed this, claiming he had already dispatched a private armed team for the search and arguing that such aggressive moves would cause market panic, leading to a loss of investor confidence and stock market instability.
At S.H.I.E.L.D., Nick Fury was also troubled. On top of the vampire issue, now Tony Stark, a key figure in the U.S. arms industry and the son of S.H.I.E.L.D. co-founder Howard Stark, was missing after a terrorist attack. S.H.I.E.L.D. deployed numerous agents, discovering that the situation was more complicated than it seemed, hinting at a conspiracy. The key question was how the terrorists knew Tony Stark’s itinerary.
S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were immediately sent to the Middle East, secretly investigating the U.S. military to find out if there was an insider leaking Tony Stark’s schedule to the terrorists. If there wasn’t a military mole, who had leaked the information?
As America’s leading arms manufacturer, Stark Industries dominated the weapons industry. Other military contractors could only secure low-end government contracts. Given the pressure, S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn’t rule out the possibility that other arms companies had conspired with terrorists to eliminate Tony Stark. If American arms companies had colluded with terrorists, it would be a significant issue for S.H.I.E.L.D.
Everything was a mess, with no leads or clues. The mission to rescue Tony Stark was going nowhere, and his fate remained uncertain.
At this moment, Nick Fury was in his office, scratching his bald head in frustration. The pressure from Tony Stark’s disappearance was immense. He couldn’t guarantee Tony’s safe return. Then, his phone rang. This was his private line, known only to the survivors of the Howling Commandos. It rarely rang unless something serious happened.
Answering the call, Nick Fury’s already dark expression grew darker. Blade had gone missing at noon. Following their years-long agreement, Whistler called Fury three hours after Blade’s disappearance.
First, Tony Stark goes missing, then Blade. Fury could openly intervene in Tony’s case with cooperation from various countries and intelligence channels. However, due to the damned peace treaty, he couldn’t use all of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s resources to investigate Blade’s disappearance, relying only on personal connections.
A few minutes later, Agent Coulson knocked on Fury’s office door, receiving a personal mission from the director. Coulson never expected he would have to approach Yasuo, the sword master, a second time and work with him on a special mission!
