Yasuo in Marvel - Chapter 20
Coulson had anticipated that money would motivate Yasuo, but he still underestimated its appeal to him.
“Don’t be so eager. It’s still daytime. We’ll act tonight. There are other things I need to tell you,” Coulson quickly explained, stopping Yasuo from rushing out immediately.
Edward Murphy, known for Murphy’s Law, stated:
“Anything that can go wrong will go wrong.”
Several centuries ago, a great war left both humans and vampires devastated. The pureblood vampires, heavily weakened, signed a peace treaty with humans. The treaty included two key points: vampires could not harm humans independently, and they could not gather in large groups privately. Over the centuries, pureblood vampires adhered strictly to the treaty and, through prolonged contact with humans, began to show signs of assimilation.
However, in recent decades, a new generation of vampires, led by Deacon Frost, a direct descendant of the pureblood vampire elder Gaetano, became dissatisfied with the current status quo. Due to his ambitions, the delicate balance of peace began to tilt towards war.
The new generation of vampires, unaware of the horrors of the past war, were drawn to the idealized world Deacon Frost portrayed. Many young vampires joined Frost’s ranks, including the vampire scribe Pearl, bringing the Book of Death into Frost’s sights.
By spending vast amounts of money, Frost hired numerous foreign mercenaries, explorers, and archaeologists. Eventually, the Book of Death was within his grasp.
The Blood God, an ancient figure in Russian folklore, embodied pain and power. A drop of the god’s blood, once hosted within Frost, would grant him unparalleled strength, enabling him to conquer humanity and elevate vampires to global dominance.
In a mansion, Quinn, one of Frost’s two remaining elite vampires, brought good news. Blade had been captured. Using the white police officer Craig as bait, they successfully ambushed and transported Blade to a designated location.
Now, Frost only had to wait for the arrival of the Book of Death tonight and the upcoming significant event. The stockpile of “blood pigs” was still being prepared. The Gucci crime family excelled in human trafficking, continuously supplying Frost’s warehouse with Middle Eastern women and children. Once he garnered the support of all vampires and sacrificed the twelve old, troublesome pureblood vampires, the power of the Blood God would enable Frost to lead the vampires in sweeping over the world.
At night in Brooklyn, New York, vampires began their nocturnal hunt. While the older generation adhered to the peace treaty, the younger vampires, drawn to Deacon Frost, couldn’t resist their bloodlust.
A yellow sports car roared through the night, stopping to reveal a stunningly handsome young man with smooth, pale skin and golden hair. Entering New York’s largest nightclub, the young man quickly caught the attention of many women eager to spend the night with him, dreaming of a luxurious life.
Inviting two white girls to join him, they were thrilled to experience a night of fun with the rich, young man. However, their ride was interrupted when a red-clad, cross-dressing figure blocked the car. The handsome young man, recognizing the figure as the second vampire hunter after Blade, left the two women and fled.
“Damn it, I just came out for some fun and ran into this guy,” he cursed.
Coulson had spent the entire day educating Yasuo about vampire basics. As night fell, he drove Yasuo to a mansion. Shortly after, they saw the flashy golden-haired vampire drive out, only to be blocked by Yasuo.
“Hey, buddy, we have no grudge. I’m just out for fun and had no intention of harming those girls. What do you want? I can give it to you,” the vampire pleaded, trying to negotiate like a human.
Coulson stepped out. “Nomak (from Blade II, the reaper boss, son of the vampire king), your kind has been too active lately. Any information to share?”
“Come on, you know I’m a law-abiding vampire. My father has numerous deals with the human government. Those active vampires have nothing to do with us,” Nomak replied, clearly recognizing Coulson.
Coulson, hearing this, shrugged. “Alright, Yasuo, if he doesn’t want to talk, you handle him.”
Yasuo drew his sword and approached Nomak, who began to back away in fear.
Everyone in the vampire community knew about the red-clad, cross-dressing figure, the second vampire killer after Blade. If he fell into Yasuo’s hands, he was dead for sure. Being a prince’s son, he wasn’t ready to die; the world had too many pleasures to offer.
“Two questions. Answer them, and I promise he’ll spare you. Deal?” Coulson interjected, aiming to extract some information.
“Alright, ask away. If I know, I’ll tell you,” Nomak, fearing for his life, agreed.
“Where is Blade?” Coulson asked directly.
“I really don’t know. Believe me, you can ask something else. I promise I’ll tell you what I know,” Nomak pleaded, seeing Yasuo approach closer, waving his hands to stop him.
“Where is Deacon Frost?” Coulson asked the next best question.
“The East Coast. He took many people to the East Coast tonight. I don’t know the exact location,” Nomak quickly answered.
“You’re not being honest. The East Coast is huge. How can we find him?” Yasuo was unsatisfied with the vague answer.
“The sea, smuggling. That’s all I know. Really, that’s everything,” Nomak, appearing more like a scared rich kid than a vampire, insisted.
Coulson patted Yasuo, signaling they had enough and should leave.
Yasuo, looking reluctantly at Nomak, knew that in his mind, all vampires were just potential gold coins. However, with Coulson’s insistence, he let Nomak go.
Nomak, seeing them leave, flashed a cunning smile, his earlier cowardice gone, and swaggered back to his sports car.
