Yasuo in Marvel - Chapter 23
Yasuo took off his Crimson Moon skin, feeling nauseated by the stench of blood covering him. He quickly checked his system.
“Gold coins +90.”
Alright, even ordinary mutants are just like cannon fodder to the system.
Reaching out to help Coulson up, Yasuo’s view of him had drastically changed after Coulson risked his life to save him. The movies were right—Coulson was indeed a good man.
Earlier, after Coulson had shot the crocodile mutant with a sniper rifle and noticed that it didn’t go down, he advanced in the dark, ready to support Yasuo at any moment. After all, this young man was dragged into this fight because of him, and Coulson didn’t want anything bad to happen to him.
The situation wasn’t too bad; Yasuo’s abilities were far beyond his expectations. The seemingly invincible mutant couldn’t even resist Yasuo, who was clearly toying with it. This made Coulson remain vigilant. He planned to teach Yasuo a lesson later: sparing an opponent on the battlefield is irresponsible to oneself and one’s comrades. No matter the opponent, one must give their all.
Yasuo had a noticeable lapse during the fight, possibly just a fraction of a second, but the opponent seized the opportunity, and a huge, saliva-dripping mouth lunged at Yasuo. Coulson could see that in a few seconds, the young Asian man named Yasuo would be torn in half by the powerful jaws. At the critical moment, Coulson selflessly lunged and pushed Yasuo aside, exposing himself to the jaws. But instead of death, Coulson felt Yasuo reappear in front of him, a magical shield blocking the mutant’s attack. Then Yasuo’s long sword stabbed into the mutant’s mouth, and with a bang, its head exploded.
Looking at the scattered bodies, Coulson muttered, “Oh damn! The trail is broken again. These unlucky mercenaries have become sacrifices.” But now, with the mercenaries dead, there was no use in saying anything more.
Yasuo noticed something amidst the bodies and paused. Opening one of the black cases, he swallowed hard. Inside were stacks of hundred-dollar bills, each bound in bundles of a hundred. Yasuo counted two hundred bundles of hundred-dollar bills in this suitcase alone, totaling two million dollars in cash.
Several identical black cases lay on the ground. Combined, they held over ten million dollars!
The enormous wealth nearly led Yasuo to a dark path.
He glanced at Coulson, thinking that under the cover of night, he could possibly…
Coulson also saw the cash. The moment he saw the money, he felt doomed. When Yasuo turned to look at him, Coulson’s hairs stood on end, his hand instinctively reaching for his gun. He doubted that someone as greedy as Yasuo would give up such a fortune just because of him.
Twenty minutes later, three black SUVs arrived at the scene along the coast. S.H.I.E.L.D.’s cleanup crew, responsible for handling things that couldn’t see the light of day, cleared the bodies, bullets, and several black cases.
In the car, Yasuo and Coulson remained silent. Finally, Coulson broke the silence, “Thank you.”
“Thank me for what? I should thank you for risking your life to push me aside,” Yasuo replied.
“Thank you for saving my life from that terrifying mutant!” Coulson answered while driving.
“Heh, I thought you were thanking me for not killing you to keep all that money to myself,” Yasuo laughed. In retrospect, he felt fortunate. He was in the terrifying Marvel universe, and Coulson had just risked his life to save him.
“And I should thank you too, for pushing me away without regard for your own safety,” Yasuo added.
“I wanted to save you. Now I realize that my actions were unnecessary. You could handle everything easily!” Coulson asserted.
Through this event, Coulson’s perception of Yasuo drastically changed. When he saw the money, his heart raced, thinking Yasuo would kill him for it. But Yasuo merely hesitated before choosing to leave with him. Coupled with Yasuo’s lifesaving act, Coulson finally felt that this young Asian man wasn’t too bad.
Feeling unsatisfied with tonight’s meager bounty of less than a hundred gold coins, Yasuo expressed his need for more enemies, as many as possible.
“With the trail broken, where to next?” Yasuo asked, wondering if there was another location.
“Tomorrow is September 21st, an important day for vampires. Many new-generation vampires will be out celebrating at midnight. By then, we’ll know what Deacon Frost’s plans are.” Vampires were still shrouded in mystery, and S.H.I.E.L.D. had little information. They could only wait for tomorrow.
Back home, Yasuo arranged with Coulson to continue tomorrow night. As he was about to sleep, he felt like he had forgotten something, as if something was missing around him.
At the New York docks, Ma Gucci watched as giant containers were unloaded. Inside were women and children gathered from around the world by the Gucci crime family, the last batch of goods, totaling five thousand people.
Deacon Frost looked at everything before him, knowing that in one more day, he could lead vampires out of humanity’s predicament.
In a large venue prepared by Deacon Frost, countless vehicles came and went. This would be the site of his ceremony. The special structure came from the formation in the Book of the Dead, with twelve sacrificial points. In a special cell, Blade was injected with drugs and bound.
Tomorrow, a large supply of blood pigs would be provided for the young vampires to revel. Frost would gain immense prestige, then kidnap twelve pureblood elders from the vampire council and sacrifice them along with Blade to gain the power of the Blood God. Vampires would once again rule the world, and humans would become slaves. Deacon Frost’s name would be praised by countless vampires.
As Deacon Frost reveled in his fantasies, Gaetano, the grand elder of the pureblood vampire council and Frost’s father, angrily confronted him.
“What have you been searching for? Don’t think you can hide it from me. Have you gone mad, Deacon Frost? Do you want to start a war with humans?” Gaetano angrily reprimanded Frost.
“Old man, you’ve been left behind by the world. Humans have scared you into submission. You’re no longer fit to lead vampires. I’m about to become the new leader. Watch and see, only under my leadership will vampires have a better living environment.”
“You’re toying with the lives of ordinary vampires,” Gaetano raised his hand to slap Frost awake.
Quinn and a white-haired female vampire stepped out, stopping Gaetano. They held him on either side.
Frost glared at Gaetano coldly, “No one can stop me now!”
