Yasuo in Marvel - Chapter 24
Hathaway looked around at the numerous women and children surrounding her. She knew what awaited her. She had seen the fate of children dragged away by the guards—long fangs, drinking blood—vampires, creatures she had only heard of in legends, were real.
A few days ago, she had been kidnapped and taken to a mansion. Fortunately, that very night, a mysterious red-clad person defeated the guards and rescued her and many others. But to their dismay, the chief of the NYPD was in league with her kidnappers, leading to her recapture. Now, she was imprisoned in this dark, foul-smelling place.
Nearby, an African-American woman glanced at the passing vampires with a glimmer in her eye. Jacqueline, a blood specialist saved by Blade, had infiltrated the vampires to rescue innocent people and gather information about Blade’s whereabouts, planning to coordinate with Whistler outside to free him.
The next day, Yasuo slept until noon. The previous evening, Coulson had told him to get enough rest, as they might need to fight all night. September 21st was the vampires’ festival, and there could be countless vampires. Without proper preparation, they could easily be overwhelmed.
When Yasuo heard about the hordes of vampires, his eyes turned into gold coins, and he almost drooled. Vampires equaled gold coins, which equaled equipment, skills, and ultimately, success and standing at the pinnacle of life.
Coulson couldn’t understand why the mention of vampires made Yasuo look like a lovestruck fool, attributing it to the quirks of youth.
Waking up at noon, Yasuo ordered some takeout. With his upcoming $30,000 paycheck and potential gains from Stark’s return boosting his stocks, he decided to eat well to prepare for the night’s potential exertion. Living decadently with takeout, Yasuo felt he was too indulgent.
As night fell, the ever-punctual Coulson appeared at Yasuo’s shop.
“Hey, Coulson, what should we do now? Go find that Chad Norma from yesterday to gather information?” Yasuo played the role of the executor, leaving the planning to Coulson.
Adjusting his clothes, Coulson replied, “The only thing I know for sure is that Blade is still alive. The enemy wants to use Blade for some unknown purpose. We should capture some uncooperative vampires to figure out what Deacon Frost is planning. Once we find Frost, the rest is up to you.”
Hearing this, Yasuo vaguely recalled something. Despite having seen Blade’s movie long ago and forgetting many details, some fragments surfaced in his mind.
Deacon Frost, the main boss in Blade 1, ultimately sacrificed Blade and twelve pureblood vampires to become the Blood God. The Book of Death, a Chinese restaurant, a grotesquely obese vampire, a blood specialist black woman saving Blade, and finally killing Frost. This should be the timeline he was in now.
Realizing this, Yasuo remembered what he had forgotten the previous day. He was a semi-prophet, having watched the movie. He already knew Frost’s goal and roughly where Blade was being held. Blame it on forgetting too much over time since crossing over.
“I know what to do. There’s someone who definitely knows where Blade is held—the vampire recorder, Pearl,” Yasuo said seriously to Coulson.
“We’re just two people. Even if Pearl knows Blade’s location, New York is vast. We can’t possibly find her among countless vampires. We can’t even search one district thoroughly,” Coulson argued, though he didn’t know who Pearl was.
At a renowned nightclub in New York, Chad Norma had just picked up two seemingly innocent schoolgirls when Coulson pushed him into the bathroom, holding a sword to his face. The red-clad eccentric appeared before him for the second night in a row.
“The vampire recorder, Pearl—where is she? If you dare deceive me, the consequences will be unimaginable!” Yasuo threatened.
“Chinatown, Club 73,” Chad Norma quickly replied. Everyone with any status in the vampire empire knew about Pearl, who recorded all vampire history.
“How can we find Pearl inside the club?” Yasuo asked to test Chad Norma’s honesty.
“The kitchen, there’s a passage in the fridge. Pearl has never moved from there,” Chad Norma answered, playing the part of a coward so well that even Coulson believed him to be a hedonistic second-generation vampire.
After verifying the location, Coulson and Yasuo left the nightclub, heading straight to Chinatown. Neither noticed Chad Norma’s cold smile as they departed, a stark contrast to his earlier cowardice.
Meanwhile, in a special building, Deacon Frost was meeting with his top lieutenant, Quinn.
“At midnight, open the nine blood banks in New York and let everyone enjoy. Also, use Gaetano’s name to invite the twelve elders here. These outdated fools will give their last bit of strength for the vampire race.”
In a few hours, Frost would become the new leader of the vampires.
“But such a large gathering—won’t the government be a problem?” Quinn expressed his concern, fearing not for the vampires but that the government might disrupt Frost’s ascension to Blood God.
“It doesn’t matter. At midnight, I’ll become the greatest Blood God. Even if the government doesn’t trouble us, I’ll lead you to confront humanity and settle the score,” Frost’s voice trembled with excitement at the mention of the Blood God.
“Yes, my great Blood God,” Quinn flattered, knowing that as Frost’s right-hand man, he would become one of the leaders of the vampire race.
“For the new era of vampires!” Frost shouted, clenching his fists.
“For the new era of vampires!” Quinn echoed, raising his hands.
Countless half-blood vampires who had joined Frost followed suit, chanting together for the new era.
