Yasuo in Marvel - Chapter 34
###
In the quiet tunnel, aside from the sounds of the car crashing, Crossbones could vaguely hear growls and chaotic footsteps!
“Prepare for combat. Something is approaching. The target is getting closer. Everyone, stay alert,” Crossbones shouted to his team. The soldiers, hearing the warning, aimed their weapons at the surroundings, while the lead vehicle accelerated its efforts to clear the blockage.
A two-meter-tall creature with long limbs, sharp teeth, and smooth, hairless skin burst out of the container. Driven by primal desires, the monster roared even more wildly upon seeing Crossbones and his men.
The moment Crossbones saw the creature, his assault rifle roared to life, with bullets precisely hitting the heads of the monsters. However, instead of falling, the monsters ignored their injuries and continued advancing rapidly.
“What the hell are these things?” Even the battle-hardened S.H.I.E.L.D. Rapid Response Special Forces were taken aback by these non-human monsters. The heavy machine guns began spewing fire, the 50mm bullets creating a symphony of destruction.
Two heavy machine guns formed a deadly web of fire in the narrow tunnel. The concrete road was riddled with craters, looking like diseased skin.
The first monster was shredded by bullets, but more creatures surged out of the container, their numbers seemingly endless. The S.H.I.E.L.D. forces, led by Crossbones, formed a high-intensity firepower network that barely held the line. Numerous monsters were torn apart, but Crossbones knew that once the machine guns stopped, the creatures would overwhelm them instantly.
“Captain, the signal in this area is jammed. We can’t send a distress call!” reported the communication agent.
“Damn, it’s a trap. We’re ambushed! Cover the first vehicle with fire. We need to clear the obstacle, or we’re all dead,” Crossbones commanded.
The front vehicle, trying to push away the container blocking the road, was surrounded by monsters. Their immense strength trapped the vehicle.
One machine gun fell silent as the operator frantically reloaded. With only one gun firing, the firepower, though intense, was insufficient. The monsters adapted, shielding their heads with their arms as they advanced. Bullets embedded in their limbs and chests, but the wounds quickly healed, failing to inflict fatal damage.
Soon, the second machine gun also ceased fire, unable to suppress the monsters. A creature quickly reached the vehicle, grabbing the reloading operator and biting into his neck. The gruesome scene shocked the remaining gunner.
Seeing the monsters close in, Crossbones abandoned his rifle. Drawing a short knife with his left hand and wielding his power-enhancing glove on his right, he delivered a powerful punch that shattered a monster’s head like a watermelon.
A retreating soldier was crushed by a monster descending from above, his body flattened. The monsters swarmed, indulging in a gruesome feast.
Determined agents pulled grenades, opting for mutual destruction, while others, less resolute, broke down, screaming about the hellish scene and the devouring demons.
The first vehicle, surrounded by monsters, lost communication. Apart from Crossbones, all remaining agents were dead.
Backed against the wall, Crossbones fought valiantly with his enhanced strength and combat skills, barely holding his ground. Without backup, his impending exhaustion would mean certain death. It was ironic that, as Hydra’s top enforcer, he was now sacrificing his life for S.H.I.E.L.D.
After twenty minutes of intense fighting, just as Crossbones felt hopeless, a fierce wind swept through, knocking him back several meters. The gale was so strong he could barely keep his eyes open. Using his power glove as a shield, he finally managed to see clearly.
The scene was chaotic. The container was split in half, revealing a regular S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and Agent 13, Sharon Carter, whom he was supposed to assist. Beside them stood the red-clad eccentric he had seen with Coulson.
One hour earlier, Coulson had assured Yasuo that they would never see Deacon Frost again, and they had boarded the helicopter. A regular agent was assigned to drive Yasuo home.
Seated in the S.H.I.E.L.D. car, Yasuo checked his system.
“Gold coins +17.”
“Gold coins +17.”
“Gold coins +23.”
The influx of gold coins brought joy to Yasuo, who roughly estimated that he had earned about 2000 coins that night, humming a little tune.
“Attention, agents in Manhattan. Cease all activities and proceed to the specified location. Secure the area. This is a priority directive.”
A woman’s voice came through the car’s communicator.
The escorting agent decisively chose to follow the priority directive, abandoning the plan to take Yasuo home. The innocent Yasuo was brought along to the Manhattan location.
To Yasuo, tonight was a disaster for the vampires. The party barely began before being ambushed by S.H.I.E.L.D. agents with special ammunition. Thousands of vampires perished, receiving a bloody lesson. In the Middle Ages, a vampire could fend off dozens of armed humans. Now, a single S.H.I.E.L.D. agent with special bullets could kill dozens of vampires. The vampires’ reign of terror was over.
However, upon arriving at the designated location, Yasuo realized he had underestimated the Marvel Universe. A special half-bodied vampire caught his attention. ‘Reaper’ — a vampire injected with a special drug, driven mad by bloodlust. These creatures not only fed on humans but also on other vampires. Their rapid metabolism made their needs insatiable.
Sharon Carter, observing the surroundings, noticed the red-clad eccentric. His unique appearance reminded her of someone Coulson had been in contact with. As a ninth-level agent, she had access to many secrets. Nick Fury was forming a special team, and this eccentric seemed to be a candidate under observation.
